Pros:
Cons:

My friend and I stopped in here on the evening of 3/6 before watching Wishes from the beach. Our original intent was simply to get pineapple Dole Whips, but I also ended up getting dinner.

The self-service ordering kiosk was simple enough. I chose the Grown Up Grilled Cheese with Poly chips, a dole whip, and a fountain drink. Now, the logical step, to me, is to go down to the counter to pick up your food, then proceed to the cashier. But not here. You must take your printed receipt from the kiosk to the cashier, who rings you up and then puts your order through, hands you a buzzer, and then you go back to the pick up counter.

Once I got all my food, we proceeded to the beach. It was obviously dark out there, so I couldn't really see what I was eating, but it was all delicious. The chips were especially awesome and I ate them all-they were like a kettle cooked chip. The sandwich was cheesy and awesome, will definitely get it again!

Pros: Unique offerings, quick service
Cons: the way they handle the checkout lines

We just returned from a week at the Poly without the dining plan. Lets just say we ate here alot because it was cheaper. Never once had a bad meal and the CMs were very helpful and nice for first-timers.

Breakfast didn't have alot of options, but the Mickey waffles were great. You can also get Tonga Toast here for about half the price of Kona, but I wasn't a fan of it. One thing I loved was the heated syrup dispensers. These are the kind of little touches that Disney does so well. How hard is it to just have those little cold packets? But they go one step above with heated syrup. Yum! And the breakfast sausage is wonderful. Not sure what it is about it, but it was different and very tasty.

For lunch/dinner we tried the Adult Grilled Cheese which was good. The burgers were okay, typical burger, nothing special. The Aloha Pork sandwich was fantastic. Such a great flavor combination with the pineapple. Not a saucy pulled pork, so it wasn't too messy. I had that multiple times. But the one to write home about was their Pork Nachos. Now, we don't eat onions, so we had the relish left off, but these things are awesome! Same pulled pork from the Aloha sandwich, their crispy homemade Poly chips, cheese and some kind of wonderful Polynesian sauce on top. Yum! Unfortunately we didn't discover these little gems until our last day. We will have to go back just for those nachos.

The seating was small and tight, but we were there during a low time and never had any problem finding room. We ate outside a few times and that was nice. Overall, I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Loved it. Try the nachos!

Pros: convenient location
Cons: water

My negative comment has a few aspects. First and foremost, the water used in the fountain drinks is horrid...it's like drinking carbonated sulfur. I purchased the refillable mug and the only thing that we could drink out of it was coffee....we threw away all fountain soft drinks. The water in the entire hotel is just as bad. Please buy bottled drinks. Even the ice tastes of sulfur. The food is just ok...nothing to write home about. It is ok when it's late, you are in your room, just changed and don't want to spend lots of $$$ for room service...then go for it...soft drinks in machines in resort hallways are $2.75 but you get a big bottle...not a can..

Pros: Dole Whip!
Cons:

We ate at Capt. Cooks a few times during our stay at the Polynesian from 1/29 - 2/4 and enjoyed it each time. We LOVED that they had a Dole Whip machine there - you get a little cup and can fill it as high as you want! My Mom has a dairy allergy and Dole Whip is one of the few desserts she can enjoy. I had the aloha pork sandwich, which was yummy, and DH had the burger and thought it was very good. My Mom and Sis both have allergies and had the grilled chicken sandwich on the burger roll. They both loved it. I also tried the grilled cheese at one point, which was very tasty.

We loved that it was open late too! There were several nights that we went and grabbed Dole Whip for a late snack.

We ate here during off meal times, so it was never very crowded and we didn't have a problem with slow checkout. But I could see where it could get crowded very fast if you went during a peak time.

Pros: food
Cons: slow cashiers

We like the convenience of stopping at Captain Cooks, but check-out is always a pain (the cashiers are always slow). The food is very good though and we ate here several times during our stay at the Poly. Great for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Pros:
Cons:

Stopped in here this evening to get a Dole Whip to eat while watching Wishes from the Poly Beach. The Whip was excellent.

On our way out of the resort I stopped to get a yogurt parfait for breakfast tomorrow.

Pros: fresh
Cons: smell of restaurant

DH and I ate here on 11/29 on the QSDP for lunch. DH ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered the Stir-Fried Noodles with Chicken. Both were fresh and delicious. My meal was more than I could eat. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. We both had dole whips. The only downfall was the horrible odor in the restaurant. It was nauseating. Overall we will definitely dine here again.

Pros: Best quick-service food I've had
Cons: Crowded, busy ALL the time

We were not planning on having 3 of our quick meals at Capt. Cook's, but after our trip started to catch up with us, we decided to stay at the hotel rather than venture out with a cranky 4 year old. We were plesantly surprised!

Over the course of our meals, we had the turkey club sandwich (nothing special, but fresh), the aloha pork sandwiches (yum!), and the flatbread pizza (husband said was best pizza at all of WDW). Son had grilled cheese and cheeseburgers, all of which he ate. I personally could do without the pineapple Dole Whip, but husband ate two of these in a night and would probably have purchased more to take home if that was possible. The portions are exceedingly generous and we ended up getting fresh fruit bowls as our "desserts" to enjoy for breakfast or snacks in our room later.

Process of ordering food is confusing and not efficient. You need to order food from the touch screen, then get your additonal items, then pay, then go back to counter to wait for food. Seems like there would be a better way, especially when the line to pay extends back to the areas where the refrigerators are located, so then nobody can get through the crowd to pick up their cooked food or open the refrigerator to get items out of there.

Pros: Dole Whips!
Cons: Loud

We stopped here after on the way out of MK. The Dole Whip station was wonderful. The cashier told us to "fill up the cup as much as you like". We decided to go here after MK was crazy busy at the Aloha Isle. Great place to snack for our first time here...a little noisy with people coming in and out but well worth it.

Pros: excellent pulled pork and portions
Cons: noisy

Recently, my DH and I split an aloha pork sandwich with the Polynesian chips. There was plenty for both of us; the portion was quite generous and filling. We both loved the flavor of the sandwich; it's a bit different with the slaw and pineapple flavor but definitely something that we would get again. My only problem is that the dining room was noisy -- and it wasn't even that busy. I cannot imagine what it must be like when the place is full. Partway through our meal, several kids nearby began having "magical meltdowns" and the noise simply echoed throughout the room. The noise turned what was a nice meal into frantic, hurry-up-and-eat to escape the din.

Pros: none
Cons:

After reading reviews, we eagerly anticipated a good meal. We ordered the standard menu item, hamburger with bacon on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at about 8:00 PM.
After placing our order for two hamburgers and fries, it took over 10 minutes to pay for our order and then another 30 minutes for the food to make its way to the pick-up station. In addition to the exceedingly long time to receive our order, the hamburger did not taste like meat, the bun was stale, the french fries were not edible, and the coke tasted like chlorine.
What a disappointment! It was the worst meal we have ever had in WDW.

Pros: Tonga toast is fantastic !
Cons: none

For breakfast, we had the Tonga Toast and it tasted just as great there as it did at the Kona Cafe....for less than half the price!

Might I also suggest both the Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Chicken Stir fry...trust me...this ain't a kiddie grilled cheese! Both are very tasty and satisfying!

For a QS establishment, I would rate this second only to the food court at the Pop Century, both have great food but the Pop has a larger menu.

Pros: CMs, variety
Cons: Queues at busy times

CMs really know how the dining plan/snacks etc. work and do their best to ensure you get the best value out of it! Even organised adult sized meals for my daughter who counts as an adult for the DDP but wanted nuggets!

If you hit the breakfast queue at the wrong time there can be a short wait, but the food was always prepared really quickly.

We were staying at the Polynesian and this was a must if you wanted to hit the parks at opening time.

Pros: Nice place to get a snack or ice cream
Cons: crowded, difficult to seat a larger group

We stopped by for a dole whip. We really enjoyed that. The only downside for us was it was difficult to seat a larger party. Highly recommend the vanilla and pineapple dole whip.

Pros: Quick! and DOLE WHIPS!
Cons: Not a lot of space!

My family ate a quick dinner here before we had to head home after a very eventful day. The kids were tired and cranky. My husband and I enjoyed the food and the kids ate fairly well but what really saved the day was the dole whips that you can purchase here! YAY! The whole family left with a smile on their face!
