My family and I had dinner at Ohana in early March 2024. We made an advance reservation for around 6pm. All of us really enjoyed the food. The rolls and salad were delicious as were the noodles, dumplings, chicken, and steak during the main course. All of the entrees were brought out warm and were cooked well. We asked for seconds of several items and the wait staff was so kind to bring smaller portions for our second round (as we had requested so as to not waste food). The dessert was amazing-best bread pudding we’ve ever had and a huge portion. During our meal, a performer played the ukulele and sang classic Disney songs. He then went around the room to ask if any tables were celebrating and either announced their anniversary or other celebration to the room or sang “happy birthday” as appropriate. While it was busy, we had servers come by multiple times to check on us and ask if we needed anything or to clear away finished dishes. It was an overall wonderful experience, and we will definitely be back!

Pros:

Food-quality and quantity Ambience Attentive staff

Cons:

None

I so wanted to love 'Ohana and relive all the happy memories I had there years ago, but I'm afraid I came away this time quite disappointed in both the experience and the food. We went to celebrate my youngest daughter's 21st birthday. She chose 'Ohana because she always remembered loving the food and atmosphere there as a child, and we were all looking forward to it. It all started well, as the woman at the check-in desk was friendly and kind, but it went downhill quickly. We were seated in the center section of the large room and the noise and light and lack of space were absolutely overwhelming. It looked like there were dimmer and quieter places around the edges of the space, but everything was full so it was not possible to move. In all seriousness, I had a spotlight in my eyes during the entire meal. It was so bright as to be uncomfortable. Our server, while kind and efficient, was entirely reciting a canned script. Everything he said, you could tell he had said the same words with the same inflections a million times before. Then people started unceremoniously dumping plates and pans on the table, almost all at once. The salad and bread were good. The pork dumplings were tasty, but not any tastier than the ones I get in the freezer section of Trader Joes. The vegetables were cooked nicely and flavorful. But everything else was a disaster. The noodles were oily, flavorless, and cold. The shrimp were coated in a brightly colored seasoning, and the only way to eat them was to open them with your fingers. All three of us had yellow nails and cuticles for two days after the meal, which is just gross. The biggest disappointment was the meat. If you remember when the meat used to come around on a skewer, you'll be crushed to know that they just slap some bowls of meat down on the table. It's chicken on the bone that is plain and sticky, and a bowl of steak (?) that has a gross, sweet teriyaki sauce poured over it and is a terrible texture. It's nothing like the delicious skewers of meat that were cooked so well in the past. In addition, the dessert was unpleasant. The ice cream was of poor quality, so much air in it that it was almost foamy as it melted, and the cake was nothing special. The much-vaunted salted caramel sauce tasted like neither of those things. It was more like a bottle of Hershey's caramel syrup from the grocery store. In addition, our server seemed annoyed when we asked for a drink menu. He just started telling us all of the non-alcoholic drinks and seemed flustered when we asked for a bar menu. He did go get it and we received the drinks, but it was odd to have to ask. We could see the fireworks, which was nice, but I would have rather eaten at Kona and then gone down to watch them on the beach. This place was a waste of time and money. Also, we were celebrating two birthdays. The table next to us received a plate of macarons and other treats for the birthday they were celebrating, but we just got a verbal "happy birthday" and that was it. I don't expect birthday treats, but when the group next to you gets one and your kid doesn't, it makes you feel some kind of way. Overall, I'm so sad to see how much this beloved place has gone down hill. I guess as long as we keep paying for it, Disney has no incentive to make it what it once was.

Pros:

Ample amounts of food. Bread and butter with honey tasted good. Fresh salad and the vegetables were good. View of fireworks.

Cons:

Intensely bright lights and a loud, chaotic, unpleasant environment. Robotic service. All the food arrived almost at once. Poor quality main dishes. Had to beg for drinks. Overpriced.

We ate here the third week of August 2023. What a disappointment. I haven't been here in probably 10 years, and I'm so sad about the decline in food/service. We had overcooked chicken, tough steak/beef, the noodles were in a super sweet glaze so that's all they tasted like. The best part of the meal was dessert. After being seated, it was a good 10 minutes just to be acknowledged by our server and were only checked no when they were dumping our various courses on the table. They also sat us at a table near the entrance which was already kind of dark and they proceeded to dim the lights while we ate, which became kind of comical at one point, because we couldn't see what we were eating. Until I hear of a change in the food and read several positive reviews going forward, this is a never again expense for us.

Live entertainer/musician

Food

Being a Florida Resident and Disney Annual Passholder we like to tell the truth and not be overwhelmed by the 'Magic' at Disney World.
That being said; we had both the Breakfast and Dinner Buffets Prior Pandemic and have to say it was nothing short of being GREAT!.
Been to both since then and couple comments:
1. Should NOT be called a Buffet any longer, Family Style fits realistically
2. LIMITED choices just standard, Beef, Chicken, Shrimp along with Noodles and Potstickers ending with Bread Pudding(Pineapple)
........ Happy Service but Slow and Sprint refills which should have been Club Soda
........ Chicken.... Ehh had better, so-so
........ Shrimp very good but should have a better way, had to rip apart the skin is very messy
........ Noodles, over cooked and salty
........ Potstickers okay but you can buy them frozen same quality
........ Bread.... Mushy DOUGH
........ Pineapple Bread Pudding was very good but if you don't like bread pudding there is no other desert

Breakfast
....... Not much to mention except Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage and biscuits

So for BUFFET and PRICE($60) we had to rate it a 2 STAR Meal.... been there once NEVER GOING BACK

Pros:

If not a multiple visitor the view is nice along with the resort

Cons:

For the Price - Quality, Quantity and Versatility of items no choice so this is a Family Style at best... NOT A BUFFET

I totally understand that this is a busy and highly sought after place for people to dine at WDW, but that feeling definitely makes its way into the experience. Tables are packed in, feels like you’re being led to a trough. And the sheer amount of food is absolutely insane. We are not American so perhaps not accustomed to the portion size but there were three of us eating and we had enough food to feed 10 people. Most of it went to waste, which was such a sad way to leave our experience.

Pros:

Bread pudding

Cons:

Way, way too much food for a normal human to consume. Everything was either very salty or very sugary. The so called famous noodles basically taste like they’re tossed in a sugar sauce.

We had been to Ohana several times in the past. It had been a few years since our most recent visit. We were a little concerned that it may not be as good as it once was. We were so pleased to find that it was SO good still!! We had an odd time reservation - like 4:15. A little early for dinner but it is what was available. We just had had a snacky lunch late morning in preparation for our Ohana dinner. So when we got there we were ready to eat. 🙂 We were seated in a timely manner and we had a nice spot for our table. We are a party of two and honestly in the past from time to time we've been given a bad table because they can squeeze a small two person table against a wall somewhere, but in this case, we were against a side window and that was fine and good. At any rate, they immediately brought us our drinks and then the food starting coming. It all came along fairly quickly. We had to just kind of pace our own selves to make sure we tood time to enjoy everything. The salad is great. The appetizers were wonderful - loved the dumplings and wings, but those noodles - they are the BEST and I am not even a noodle person. They have outstanding flavor. I ate a lot of them! The meats of course were great as well. The steak, chicken and shrimp. I liked the steak best. Everything was warm and fresh and so good. The bread pudding was delightful and we loved it as much as we had in the past. We were also celebrating an anniversary and they brought us a cute little plate with a couple of little mini macaron cookies and chocolate pieces, which was a very nice little plus for us. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. This was a great experience for us. Again, we were slightly anxious that the quality would not be what it once was, but we were so happy that all was well. No complaints and so glad we went!

Pros:

delicious food!

Cons:

pricey

Very slow service. We waited half an hour to be seated even though we had booked and then we were put at the back of the restaurant behind a pillar so we couldn’t see the fireworks. Our server gave us the drinks menu but then didn’t come back to take the orders. After someone else brought us our starters we had to flag someone down to get our drinks. The starters were nice but the mains were overcooked and chewy at this point our server appeared again to bring us our puddings and the bill. The bread pudding was nice but it would have been nice to have some choice for the people in my family that didn’t like it.

Pros:

Noodles, wings and Bread pudding

Cons:

The staff and if you get a bad table it’s very bad. Not worth the price

Probably the best meal we had the entire trip. It’s all you care to enjoy. If you want more of something specific they will happily bring it. Pace yourself, it’s a lot of food if you want to try it all. The noods are everything they have been hyped to be as well as the bread pudding. I tried getting a reservation every day starting at 60 days. Using a dining reservation service I was able to finally get a reservation the day of. So if you can’t get it at the 60 day mark don’t give up.

Pros:

Amazing food!

Cons:

Hard to get that reservation
