We have been going to Disney World for the past 7 years. 'Ohana for dinner is our ultimate FAVORITE meal, as a matter of fact, we always stay 7 nights and 8 days and we always eat at 'Ohana at least 2 meals and it is THE BEST. We highly recommend it. We like that it is served 'family style' too instead of a buffet. Our kids are 7 and 9 years old and this is their favorite food also.

We had a great meal (late seating around 9:30) and I had requested a vegetarian meal. Chef TJ came around and totally pampered me. I had a wonderful hummus appetizer with delicious chips, a gorgeous tofu and vegetable main dish with a crown of batter dipped vegetables and an incredible chocolate tofutti ice cream with vegan chocolate chip cookies and fruit confection for dessert. I was one happy vegetarian! All the other meat eaters were happy with their food too, but honestly, I was too focused on my own delights.

Review for dinner, December 31st, 2009. Our second time dining here. We were a group of 11.
'Ohana for supper is cool, but it's also a bit of a grind.
Our large group was seated quickly on New Year's Eve, even though we showed up early. Our server that night was the weakest we had during our vacation. She seemed tired.
An entertainer wanders the floor of 'Ohana with her ukulele, enticing children to dance and so forth. Her voice comes through the PA. It's distracting and a bit saccharine, but not overly loud. She flirted heavily with the hunks in our group. That was fun to watch.
The food at 'Ohana is served family style, in huge, communal portions. The coconut bread is served cool and without butter. It's fine and--this is rare for Disney--only subtly sweet. The starters are wings (gooey, nothing special), noodles (tasty, but basic), broccoli (lifeless) and pot stickers (standard). You also get served a sweet, crisp little salad of mostly lettuce. It kind of wears you out before the meat skewers arrive.
The first time we went to 'Ohana, two years ago, the meats were pretty good. This time, the beef and turkey were definitely on the overdone and chewy side. The shrimp and pork got generally good grades from our party, though.
I guess it's a toss up when a giant, roaring fire is involved.
There was never enough dipping sauces, and those were communal, too. That makes for a mess. The dessert (not that anybody had room) is a super tasty, super decadent bread pudding made out of the coconut bread.
What I really don't like about 'Ohana (although I wasn't crazy about the meats this time) I won't be deducting any points for, cause it's just a personal gripe. They served our party double large plates. Too much food went wasted. It was a little conspicuous and disconcerting.

We went a little early, but they seated us a few minutes later. I would highly recommend skipping a meal before coming because they bring so much food! The appetizers were good, not spectacular. Same for the salad. I loved the bread...slightly sweet, great texture for me. The noodles were unusually good, warm and slightly sweet...I really enjoyed these. The meats were great...but wow, do they give you so much. My husband felt guilty leaving some. The bread pudding was amazing...great finish. If you have some big eaters in your group, especially meat lovers, this is the place. The steak for us was particularly good....tender, well seasoned, flame-kissed...yum.

We (my mother-in-law, husband, and I) ate at ‘Ohana for a late dinner on Dec. 16th. We timed it so we would have enough time so that we could see the Water Pageant Parade and for a little bit of time to wonder the resort before our reservation. When we checked in, we were told to have a seat but within a minute or two we were escorted to our table. Since we were eating at a later time (9:45 PM) there was hardly anybody in the restaurant and those that were there were finishing up their meals. We were seated by the window which would have been a great spot had we timed it right for Wishes. The food was really good and they just kept bringing us more and more. The bread pudding served with the banana and caramel sauce a la mode was so good! I would return here just for that. My husband doesn’t care for bananas so he asked for a bowl of ice cream and our cast member/waitress brought him out a big bowl with 3 scoops with Mickey sprinkles on top. We really enjoyed our meal here and look forward to eating here in the future.

I have been to 'Ohana on a few occasions and the food never disappoints. We had a large party, and our table was very crowded and we felt like we were sitting on top of each other. The food was very good as always, and the kids had a great time. I would recommend to anyone, you will not be disappointed. Try to schedule your ADR around the time of the fireworks at Magic Kingdom so you can view them from the restaurant, that is a wonderful plus!

One of our favorites because of the food and all-you-can-eat aspect. The steak, chicken, turkey, and shrimp were all excellent and the dipping sauces make them even better.
Be sure to get here early since it fills up quickly and the line can be very long (even with reservations).

Our family of 4 had dinner here on 12/12. We hadn't been here in years and after reading all the fabulous reviews we were excited to return.
The location is wonderful. We walked the ground a bit before dinner and definately had a bad case of "resort envy".
We checked in for our 5:30 pm reservation with the masses. We were seated within 15 minutes.
The service was ok..not great, not terrible. The food was a different story.
The bread was ok...the salad had a nice honey lime dressing but was soggy. The dumplings were sooo incredibly dry, they were actually inedible. The noodles seemed like spaghetti drowned in cheap soy sauce. They were actually gluey. ick. The wings were sickening sweet. The veggies were frozen broccoli and pea pods..nothing bad, nothing great. When the meat finally arrived I was a little off from all the other dishes. But honestly, the meat all tasted the same. Smokey and dry. At one point the server brought us both pork and turkey. After he left I took a bite of each and couldn't tell the difference. The steak was moist, but more of the same flavor. The shrimp arrived later and by then I was DONE so I didn't even try them. The ending to our "less than magical" meal was the banana bread pudding. I know people rave about this, but we thought it was terrible. It was a pan of sickening sweet french toast, drowning in sugary bananas then a nasty sweet vanilla sauce poured on top. My 6 and 7 year old wouldn't even eat it!
I am not sure if we hit this place on an off night or if we had too high of expectations, but it was the biggest dissapointment of our vacation. DH and I acutally felt ill after our meal...took a few hours of walking to shake off the meal.
Sadly, this is one of the few places that is on our "NEVER again" list.

What an experience...we ate here on the dining plan 12/9 with ADR at 5:00. There was an enormous line at the restaurant when we arrived at 4:55 pm, but we were given a buzzer and we were seated within 10 minutes.
We got a table by the window with a view of the MK castle. Our server, whose name I don't remember but was from Memphis, TN, was very nice. She always made sure we had everything we needed and never rushed us one second.
Soon after seating, the Polynesian woman started her routine, dancing around and playing a ukelele while leading children around in a pied-piper style. My girls took one look at her and gripped their seats with white knuckle power. Cute for the first 5 minutes, it got very tiresome.
And then the food arrived.
First, came the welcome bread which had a fresh pineapple taste. I liked it but wife and girls did not. Second, came the salad. Tasty, but don't each much because of what's coming next.
Third, came the chicken wings and pork dumplings. Delicious. Pace yourself and try not to fill up on the opening acts.
Fourth, the skewers of meat. Our server arrived with two giant skewers: grilled turkey and grilled pork. Yes, please. Next cane the skewers of perfectly grilled steak. "Would you like some steak?" I'm asked. Of course.
Oh, and then the shrimp skewers arrive. Fortunately, I had some room left in my stomach...how, i don't know. I consumed about half-a-dozen shrimp - all delicious.
This is certainly not a meal for the weak. Come prepared to eat a lot of food for you will feel stuffed more than any Thanksgiving dinner you've ever had.
And then the bread pudding arrived with vanilla sauce. Try some, sir? Yes, please.
Oh, what a meal - definitely not one to forget. We all left with broad smiles on our face thanks to the terrific food, atmosphere and service.

My family and I ate here on December 8 at opening. We were one of the first people seated. The place wasn't that busy but as our meal went on the place started to fill up. Our server was very friendly and quick. We were never long without refills or more food.
The food was better than ever I remember. Maybe because we were there right when it opened everything was fresh. When our server took our drink order we ask for some steak medium well because sometimes the steak is a little too rare for us. He wented over to the fire pit (we were right there) and asked for it. They put aside a skewer just for us. Everything else was great. The dumplings are always a highlight. Dessert was one of the best. I always have to remember that this is still to come! Our server even knew the kids probably wouldn't eat it and brought them each bowl of ice cream with sprinkles.
The entertainment was fun as well. It was nice to see that the woman even did some Christmas songs i.e Don Hoe.

We ate here on Dec.13 for supper. Great food and tons of it, we ate way too much. Our server was great as well. Don't eat all day before dining here. We had lots of time to enjoy our meal, we arrived for 6:30p.m. We will definitely be back here.

I think part of the problem with Ohana is it's a bit "overhyped" which is understandable. We didn't have that great of an experience here for dinner on 12/7 - four adults, three kids 5/3/1.
Things were off to a bad start when we showed up at 4:45 for our 5pm ADR and the line for the check in was all the way to the entrance to the monorail. Everyone around me in line had either 5/5:05, 5:15 reservations. Fortunately the rest of my group found some seats near the bar to park and my mom had bought the kids some little toys to play with that day. Once I got to the check in and got the buzzer, we were seated pretty quickly.
The bread was cold and tasteless... for some reason I expected something warm and sweet?
Our server was slow with drinks, butter for the bread... and later it took forever to get the bill and drink refills. Just did not feel much love from the server.
Salad was ok. Dumplings and wings were tasty and the meats were all good. Enjoyed the noodles and brocolli too. Really no complaints about the "hot foods" but service was just so slow. Part of it I think was that I had read so many reviews of people feeling rushed... where we felt the opposite. I ended up waiting by myself at the table because by the time the whole bill process was completed the kids were officially "done" sitting there.
The thing that really ruined the dinner was the entertainer... it was SO unbelievably loud and annoying we could not hardly talk during our meal. And it wasn't "good" - it was annoying. As my husband said, if you're going to have someone talking during the meal at least they should have a pleasent voice to listen to. Ugh.
Also it was FREEZING in there - we went to plenty of other TS places during our week trip and this was the only one where we were cold.
Oh and finally the dessert - I think I was too hyped from all the reviews b/c to me it was just "ok". The desserts at Arkersus were far better....
I can't see us eating here again anytime soon. I did enjoy the meats/sides/appetizers but the rest of the experience was a dud.

This was our 4th year in a row visiting WDW but our first at Ohana. We decided to try a few new places this year and picked this based on reviews. I can't say the food was bad, it was just mediocre. Our whole family, me, DH, DS8, DS4, sister, brother-in-law and nephew7 all agreed we enjoyed all our other choices better. We will not put this on our list for next year. For this trip, Sept. 12-19, we ate at the following TS, 'Ohana, Kona, Narcoosees, SciFi, Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Teppan Edo, and Tokyo Dining.
