We dined here for breakfast on 9/24. I was more than a little hesitant because we had an AWFUL experience here at dinner earlier in the week, but breakfast here was one of the most enjoyable meals we had all week.
Our party of 5 (3 adults, 2 children - 7 years and 1 year) were almost immediately called to be seated after showing up about 5 minutes past our ADR time (had a little transportation problem that morning, nobody's fault). We declined the picture that was taken in the lobby area before we sat down, and we were not pressured to purchase it.
Our server was very sweet and immediately brought us juice and a sweet bread (reminded me of danish) and fresh fruit. They did not charge me for a cup for my infant son (I wanted to specifically mention this because we were charged at some places). Our platter of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits arrived quickly. Everything I tried on the platter was hot and tasted fresh (I did not try the eggs, but only because I was filling myself with other things). DD chowed down on bacon and ate LOTS of fruit, while DS enjoyed the biscuits and sausage links. The favorite part of the meal, the Mickey Waffles, arrived shortly after the platter. They were so good, they were still hot when we got them on our plates. DS ate a whole one and DD ate 2! Our server came to check on us, and she brought us more drinks (friends requested diet coke, quickly accommodated), and she asked if we'd like more waffles. They were brought to us immediately.
The characters were so great with my kids. DD is a major Lilo and Stitch fan, and they did not disappoint. Also, I wanted to specifically mention that the characters here not only acknowledged my 1-year old DS, they really took time to interact with him (we had several character meals during our visit, and other than at Ohana and Akershus, he was usually ignored). DS was absolutely enamoured with the characters, and they were so wonderful with him. We saw Stitch first, he played with everyone at the table (including the adults), signed DD's autograph book, and let me take several pictures (stitch does great poses). Next was Pluto, who shook his leg when the kids patted his head and scratched behind his ear (my son was really taken with Pluto's nose - it was so funny). Then it was time for a parade around the restaurant. Pluto took DD by the hand to join in the parade, and she carried/shook maracas all around the restaurant. After the parade, we saw Mickey. Again, great with the kids - spent a lot of time taking pictures, signing the autograph book, and letting DS squeeze his nose (see the pattern developing, haha). Then we saw Lilo, who really played with the kids (she showed DD how to properly get on to Stitch when he is bad...so cute). DD told her that Lilo and Stitch is one of "favorite movies ever," and Lilo gave her the biggest hug.
The characters here really made what was a good meal even better. We had a great time. A huge THANK YOU to Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto for making our meal, and our whole day, great! I highly recommend this breakfast to others.

We ate here on 09/24/09 and loved it! Stitch played his part so well. He would try to steal food off of waiters trays and throw food. He also was stuffing waffles in his ears. My kids laughed the whole time we were there. My husband and I was celebrating our 10 yr anniversay and when we were seated, they gave us a card signed by all the characters! It was nice to have a huge meal brought to your table instead of waiting in line at a buffet. Lilo was so nice, she gave me and my daughter hugs and my son got a kiss on top of his head. I can't wait to go back; this will be the 1st resv. I make!

We ate here for breakfast in Oct/09 - ADRs were for 10:20 but even after arriving early, we had quite a wait. However, we were able to explore around the Polynesian lobby/shops so the wait was amusing at least. Lots of characters during breakfast - Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, Stitch - so it was a good time. Food was good and plentiful and they kept the juice and coffee coming. We were on the dining plan so we only had to pay the 18% gratuity (we were a party of 6) and it was well worth it. We had lots of fun and the meal was relatively quick, too, which was nice - we were back in the parks before noon and as we had a filling late breakfast, we didn't have to stop for food for a while. We had done Chef Mickey's in January 2008 but I'd definitely recommend the 'Ohana breakfast before Chef Mickey's.

My family and I arrived late to breakfast due to the Disney transportation and were worried that we wouldn't be able to get in. We were greeted and able to keep our reservations, after waiting about 15 minutes. The food was really really good, and more than we expected, the atmosphere was very tropical, and the character greetings were spread out nicely through the breakfast. My niece especially enjoyed the children's character parade where they get to dance and parade around the restaurant. We would definitely go again!

We had breakfast here on 9/22/09. We had 8:40 ADR, we waited around 20 minutes to be seated. That was after they make you take your picture and wait in that line. We didn't buy it though because DS refused to be in it. When we were seated, we were given a table in the corner with a view of the castle. When the waitress came, she commented on how busy she was and poured coffee. She left juice (which was good, but not a hit with the kids). She didn't asked if they wanted anything else to drink and did not leave us coffee. When we asked, she said she didn't have a carafe to leave us she never came back with any for us either. Then the characters started to come around and the helper brought our food. DS started to say he wanted mac and cheese. I asked the helper. He said he would ask the waitress. She finally came over and said it was a strange request but would ask, she added she did not think they had any there at all. I told here we were there last year for dinner and they had it for him. A chef came out and said no way, but offered PB and J or dried cereal. She said maybe if she brought the PB and J he would eat it. We said fine. Then not even 5 minutes later, another chef came out with a mountain of mac and cheese. We cheered. She said she knew they had it and said her grandkids ages 3 and 5 eat it too at all different hours of the day. So she understood. If it was not for the chef saving the day, I would not rate this so high with the waitress telling us how busy she was from the beginning. The food was all good and they came around with Mickey waffles. They gave us more of all the food. The parade was cute, but short, they only go around one time.

Ate here on the 19th.Check in was easy. Got seated rather quickly. The "welcome" bread was great. Our "cousin" Amanda was great and very attentive. Food was great and plentiful. Loved the "Pog" juice. Kids had a great time joining in the parade around the place.Originally was not going to order our Picture, but after seeing it we did. Photographer wasn't pushy at all.Would highly recommend it with or with out kids.

I scheduled our flight home late in the afternoon, so we had some time to do a few last Disney things. Not enough time to merit wasting a park ticket, but plenty of time to squeeze in one last Character Meal…and since we skipped doing any character meals the day we arrived in Disney, it worked out perfectly as far as meal plan credits went.
Here is something I learned: many of the Character Meals take place at the various hotels on Disney Property, and not in the actual theme parks themselves. Next time I plan a trip to Disney World, I plan to spread our “theme park” days out, and add at least 1 (maybe 2) days of lounging by the pool and hanging out. A Character Meal at one of the hotels will work perfectly for a chill out day: you are still doing something fun and “Disney” while not being in an actual park, and you’re not wasting valuable time sitting at a restaurant on a day you spent a crazy amount of money to enter one of the parks. One issue is that Disney does not offer bus travel between hotels – only from hotel to theme park (and Downtown Disney). Quite a few of the Character Meals take place at one of the BIG 3: what I refer to as the 3 hotels connected to the Monorail line, and VERY close to the Magic Kingdom: these being the Contemporary, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian. Dinner at Chef Mickey’s in the Contemporary is on my list of things we missed this time and must do next time.
On my list of things we DID do this time and MUST do again next time is the 'Ohana breakfast at the Polynesian hotel.
First of all, the waiting area is very pleasant, and just down the hall is a cafe that serves Kona coffee (not the Nescafe most Disney restaurants serve) so if you’re jonesing for your first cup of java, you can enjoy one while you wait. When you sign in at the reception desk, they give everyone in the party leis. Miss A loved this, of course, and even her Dada consented to join in the fun and wear one.
This was one of my favorite Disney meal experiences because it was one of the very few that was not a buffet. I detest the whole stand in line like a herd of cattle at a trough feeling that buffets give me. I’m on vacation, I am spending way too much money on this meal, I want to sit here and relax and BE SERVED. Also, the characters come around on a schedule, so it’s quite difficult to convince a certain six year old to go get something to eat when she’s anxiously tracking Mickey’s progress to her table.
At the 'Ohana breakfast, you are immediately served juice and coffee and a delicious basket of pineapple Hawaiian bread; between the juice, coffee, and divine bread, I had a perfect breakfast but they also serve up family style platters of Mickey waffles (I thought they were rather dry and tasteless, but Miss A seemed to like them) biscuits, scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and some type of sausage (we’re not really a sausage type of family). Even though we didn’t get to pick and choose from a menu, breakfast food is pretty standard fare, and again, it was so nice to just sit and relax and let people bring everything to us (and our waiter was wonderful, it was so hot I drank a ridiculous amount of juice, and he was great with the refills!) This way we could really enjoy our breakfast, and focus on the real reason we came there: the characters!
At the 'Ohana breakfast, the 4 characters we saw (and I believe are standard) were: Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. Each character spent plenty of time with us at our table, which was great since Lil’ G (who was terrified of Winnie the Pooh, I don’t know if I mentioned that before) absolutely adored Mickey. Though she is a Princess-Girl all the way now, when Miss A was little, her first Disney favorite was Stitch. She LOVED him (I say she recognized a kindred spirit). So it was a lot of fun for her (and for me) to meet Experiment 626 and his best pal Lilo. And even though he wasn’t necessarily a “Must See” character, meeting Mickey’s best pal Pluto was lots of fun too (I get the connection now, Lilo and her “dog” Stitch along with Mickey and his dog Pluto). Aside from the time they spend with you at the table, they also have several opportunities for the kids to get up and join the characters in a parade around the restaurant, complete with instruments for them to play (Tusker House in Animal Kingdom does this kind of thing too).
After breakfast, you can give your tummy time to rest by strolling around the hotel’s main building. They have some shops, and a gorgeous central nature display that includes waterfalls, flowers, and all sorts of island greenery. It’s A great place for photos! Don’t miss the Lilo & Stitch surfboard hiding on the lower level by the windows. We decided to look around some more, and strolled the rest of the hotel grounds. It made for a very pleasant walk.
Leaving the Polynesian is a breeze, you can hop the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom or enjoy a ferry boat ride to the same place. We really liked taking the boat when we had the time to spare, it was so relaxing!
So, we’ll be doing the 'Ohana breakfast again for sure – it’s a keeper.

Food is good, but not a lot of different choices. Nothing unusual about this breakfast. I like the fact that I didn't have to get up to get my breakfast, but there are not a lot of choices that you would on a buffet.
Pluto was in a hurry and I didn't get any pictures with him and my children. Everything was very rushed here. I'm on vacation and don't want to be rushed. No other restaurant did this. Every character took the time for pictures. This is why it is a "character breakfast". Been here now and would not go back again.

The food was good but as for the character experience, which is what you really pay for, it fell flat. We were told we were sat in the best table in the house because the characters start right where we were seated. I was even celebrating my birthday and had on my very special button and the characters never even came to our table. It should not matter if it is two adults at the table with no kids, we paid just as much money as everyone else did and we should have had the opportunity to get our pictures taken. I will not book this experience again even when I do have children.

We had dinner here before and got a last minute ADR for the breakfast on 8/2. We have been to many character meals and this one was our favorite. The kids (12,10,7) thought they might be "too old" for the character meal, but they really enjoyed themselves at this breakfast.
Service was friendly and fast, so nice to have the food service family style so you don't risk missing the characters. Popular items were refreshed immediately and drinks were always refilled quickly. Although "breakfast is breakfast", we found the food quality here to be very good.
This was a great way to start off your morning (just avoid the photo... there are better ways to spend $31, and besides, you can take some great photos right inside).
Will add this to our "must do" list.

The food was so good here. My children are really big Lilo and stitch fans but I wanted them to just enjoy everything Disney had to offer and I am so glad I chose to come here. The resort itself is beautiful and the wait time for breakfast wasn't long. The staff was so nice and friendly. They explained how long it was going to take to see all the characters. The bread and the "special stitch juice" were so good. My son couldn't get enough. I loved the family style eating. That was something new for us at a restaurant. The characters were so nice and even when Pluto missed out table he came back and took extra pictures to make up for it. I would recommend this to everyone.

This is by far our favorite character breakfast on property. DH loves Lilo and Stitch so this is an added bonus having them here.
We also like that while its all you can eat, the food is brought to you instead of having to get up. Allows for you to never miss a character opportunity. Having missed my chance with Mickey at Chef Mickey's, I was delighted to finally get a picture here.
The food was very good and the "POG" juice was great (pineapple, orange and guava mix). Characters came by several times and I love the little parade they do with the kids. Its so adorable.
My only small con is again paying for the souvenir picture. I think it should be included like at other places, not a separate (and pricey) add on. We opted to not have our picture taken.
We will most definitely be coming back to this breakfast every time we visit the world

This was my favorite meal of the trip, but then again I love breakfast. The pineapley bread was great, as was the fruit, the waffles, the eggs and the coffee and tropical juice. Can't speak to the meat but our group ate it all. When we asked for watermelon the waitress got it pretty quickly, and was affectionate with us as we played around with us over the meal. The picture was worth the $31, we were very happy and it showed.
