Not impressed with food at all, Prices

My girlfriend and I ate her on 11/10/09. I had made the reservations after reading here about how good the food was and how great the service was. We had reservations for 7:45, which was still very busy. the whole place was pretty noisy. It was raining pretty good when we arrived at the GF, and when we went to the front desk to ask where the restaurant was, were were told, then asked if we wanted a ride since it was quite a walk from the main building. In no time at all we were on our way in a golf cart, dry and on time. It was great! We were promptly seated, and our drink order was taken. Best Mojito I have ever had. My girlfriend had a Pomegrante drink that was one of their specials. Also very tasty. Theres where the good ends. She had no complaints about the evening, but none of the food impressed me. We had Crab cakes for our App, which were small and kind of bland. We both ordered surf and turf. The fillet to me was a little tough, and the Lobster tail very bland. Maybe i'm being picky, but ive had much better of both. And for what they charge I expected MUCH better food. I wouldnt eat here again. Even on the DP, I feel there are better Signature Restaurants such as the Yacthsman Steakhouse. Overall, very Dissapointed....

they can't deviate from the menu!!!

We went to dinner here on 11/3 and when making the reservation awhile back they had asked if we were celebrating anything and we said yes, an anniversary and a birthday. When we arrived at the restaurant menus were personalized, how cute!!!
My husband and I got the surf and turf which was really good. Although, my daughter does not eat seafood or beef so we had asked to talk to the chef about creating something for her. Well, all I can say is they can't deviate from the menu. We asked if she could have angel hair pasta, broccolini, grilled chicken, and mozzerella. Really, how hard is that to make??? My daughter could have made it better. It came to the table in a huge ball, with maybe 5 cubes of chicken in it and a few pieces of broccolini. For 2 table service credits on the dinig plan it was dissapointing. Aside from that, everything else was delicous. We all had the gelato sampler for dessert. The cappucino and pistachio ones were the best.

DM and I made this our first stop on a MK resorts bar-leaping tour....and we had so much fun that we never left! We sat at the bar and we were taken care of by one of the best bartenders I have encountered - we don't remember his name (too many cocktails I guess) but he was great, full of info about the resort and Wishes and the water pageant. We arrived in time to have a few drinks before the water pagent started and then headed right out onto the veranda overlooking the water. We had great views of Wishes later on in the evening as well! We had the calamari with our martinis and it was great - just chewy enough with great fried jalapenos mixed in. I can't wait to go back for a whole meal!

Found the service and the food exceptional. First timers on anniversary celebration dinner. Enjoyed every bit of our dinners: surf & turf and whole lobster. Could have used more veggies on the plate.

We just returned from Disney a few days ago. Our favorite meal was at Narcoossee's. The staff was very friendly. Even though we felt a little underdressed (after coming right from Magic Kingdom on an extremely hot day), but noone made us feel out of place. The Calamari appetizer was very tasty. I had the filet entree - which melted in my mouth. Perfectly cooked at medium rare. My boyfriend had the yellow tail snapper. The presentation was beautiful & the fish was incredible. Now to the favorite part of the meal: dessert. The cheesecake was FABULOUS! It wasn't a typical cheesecake, which, after a while, can be a little sour & sticky. First, the almond coating is wonderful, and the cake is so smooth & creamy. I loved it. The table-pressed coffee was very yummy as well. Bottom line, the view was lovely, the food was tasty, and the staff was friendly. What more could you want?

We were greated immediately upon our 8:30 reservation and requested a window seat, which was granted. The restaurant was only half full after the fireworks. We got a view of the water pagent which was fun. The bread was awesome, love the sea salt on the butter.
My appetizer was out of this world-- I'd highly recommend the crab cakes. DH got a salad appetizer and a chicken entree, which were pedestrian, but what can you expect upon ordering chicken at a seafood restaurant. I had the lobster which was good. The portion was ample, but for $59 I wouldn't do it again. Desserts were also well worth it. I had key lime creme brulee, and DH had the gelato samplers. Both out of this world.
Service was great! That being said, there was something about the food that was a little disappointing somehow. We'd like to try a different signature restaurant next time that would offer more unique options.

Cons:

Our family of 4 ate here on 9/14/09. We were the third party to enter the restaurant and check-in - a trend I have noticed is some of the "signature" dining places appear to give priority seating to those people staying at the resort in which the restaurant is located. In this case, we were asked if were staying at G.F. When we said "no" but indicated were staying on-property, we were seated behind several arrivals that checked in after us. Interesting. This also happened to us at the Yachtsman's Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort.
We requested a window seat - and were met with a "huffy" attitude by the person seating us. She sat us at a window and plopped our menu's down and walked away. When our wonderful, wonderful server, Debby, came over, Debby asked, "Why are the menu's just sitting here?" We kind of explained how we were greeted, and God Bless her, Debby went and had a nice "chat" with the girl who seated us. For our trouble, she gave us 4 glasses of champagne on the house. Debby was vibrant, happy, and full of life (and said she was even happier since her daughter was getting married the following week - congrats again Debby!) and she made our experience here better.
Appetizers were great - tasty and top quality. We all shared the calamari, crab cakes, and seafood stew appetizers. All very, very good.
For our entrees, we all got the surf and turf - 2 filet mignons with rock lobster and cheesy potatoes. I was very, very specific with Debby about the wellness of the beef for me - VERY well done. ZERO areas of pink. What I got (not delivered by Debby) was one semi-well done and 1 running red. Needless to say, I gave my beef to my hubby to eat. It was horrible and I can not stand it if the beef is not super well done.
We all agreed the lobster was basically tasteless and overcooked. Disappointing.
Dessert was magnificent, however. Three of us got the almond-crusted cheesecake (it was DIVINE) and my father-in-law got the strawberry shortcake which he said was great.
Overall, the meal was super pricey for food not all that great. For a $400 meal plus tip, we were expecting something really spectacular. Would we return here? Probably in the future to give it another try - our server Debby made the difference for us . We visit WDW 3-4 times per year so I could see us going back here to try again - the cheesecake alone is worth the trip, not to mention the beautiful views.

Nothing at all...Perfection!!

DW and I ate there September 13th. We were offered a complimentary glass of champagne each (for our 30th wedding anniversary) which we declined, as my wife likes wine but not champagne, and I am allergic to alcohol....but great touch for even asking! She did ask for a glass of Woop Woop Shiraz, which they "comped" us on.
We shared the crab cake appy...delicious! Almost all crab with very little binder ingredients, what flavor! You gotta try this, believe me! Went extremely well with the bread and Kona salt butter.
We both had the Surf and Turf, DW's was medium rare as ordered, and mine was medium well as ordered. Done to perfection! Lobster was sweet as can be! Luckily for me, DW could barely finish her tenderloin,so guess who got to finish her lobster!
I must make a note on the veggies here...Hericot verts (green beans) were done to perfection,as was the asparagus(large variety). We both like our veggies with dinner, and very few reviewers ever touch on that.
Dessert was a glowing touch. I had the Strawberry Shortcake which was fantastic (I did joke with our waitstaff that it was almost as good as Mrs. Potts in the MK),and DW had the cheesecake, which was creamy and delicious.
As far as waitstaff, you are taken care of splendidly. Very attentive, but not the "how's everything" every 2 minutes when your mouth is full, which we find very annoying. Just enough to let you know they are taking care of you, but not overbearing as if something might be wrong.
We definitely advise anyone celebrating anything to do it here, you will not be disappointed here!

We were there 9/13/09 on the dining plan. 7pm reservation. Promptly seated away from small children as requested. We informed the server we would be stepping out to view "Wishes" @ 8 so she could time the entrees. Wishes is simulcast so you wont miss a thing. Entrees were served immediately upon returning to the table. Everything was great and well worth using two table credits.

We ate here on our first night of our trip on 2/10/09 and it was absolutely perfect. I was celebrating my birthday during this trip and they really did go all out my name was on the menu it just really made it feel like a celebration. Our table was right next to the window so we got to see Wishes right from our table. I was a truly lovely experience. I highly recommend you give it a try.

My wife and I ate here on our honeymoon on 8/21 - the BEST WDW meal I have ever had. For starters the food was excellent, we both had the surf and turf. For dessert, the wait cast brought our desserts with a special touch - "congratulations" was written in a colored sugar and the desserts were plated in a neat design. The added touch - our waiter brought us each a champagne flute on the house during the fireworks! They really went out of there way for us. Also, I must say every resturant we went to they went out of their way to make us feel special.

WE dined here on 8/6/09. Fantastic service and food. We timed our reservation in order to be able to enjoy wishes as an added bonus. The lights were dimmed and Wishes music followed along with the fireworks. We also saw the electric water parade. It was alovely night of great food and entertainment. Well worth the 2 table services on the dining plan.

This was our first dining experience at Narcoossee's and if you haven't been there.. GO!!! We were seated at our ADR time of 7:10 at a table with a wonderful view of the MK. Our server was attentive and never rushed us as we like to order our entree after we have finished our appetizers.
We started with the Crispy Duck Roll, the crust being light and crispy, the filling was duck and apples with a delicate sauce. The Calamari was fresh, and very tender. For the main meal, I had the Grilled Filet Mignon that was cooked exactly as I requested. You didn't have to chew as it just seemed to melt in your mouth. My DS had the Crab-crusted Alaskan Halibut, he didn't comment on his meal as he was to busy eating. The plates are large which makes the portions look small, but don't be fooled.
Can't comment on the desserts as we were too full. We have been to a lot of Disney's best restaurants and this has been placed at the top of our list.

This was the best meal we have ever had at Disney! I was worried about spending more money than we are used to, but this meal was worth every cent! The crab and shrimp bisque was the best I've had, not too rich. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. My husband had the crab encrusted Alaskan halibut and he loved it. I had the strawberry shortcake and it was a perfect finish to a perfect meal!
We can't wait to go back!
