Grand Floridian is beautiful! This buffet was very good ...good variety.Enjoyed lobster eggs Benedict and strawberry soup. Recipe for soup included in photopass pkg. Alice in wonderland and the Mad Hatter were quite sassy with each other....quite funny!

We ate here for dinner and were very pleasantly surpised at the overall quality of the dinner. The strawberry soup is exceptional, platters of food on the buffet were refreshed frequently and and the selection of interesting salads was diverse and included a lot of choices that we didn't see elsewhere and really enjoyed. The dessert tables had at least a dozen different types of desserts all in petite size servings so that you could sample several different ones. A very nice touch. Special kudos to the chef who came out because of my food allergy and took me on a complete tour of both sides of the buffet describing all dishes and making recommendations, not only was he informative but very personable, making me feel like he had been looking forward to this all day. Then he checked on us multiple times during dinner and brought out a special dessert at the end of the meal. Will be going back.

Second time eating here. Food is wonderful. Character interaction is great. Love that Alice and the mad hatter are there. Very organized from characters to the guy who makes the omelets. Strawberry soup is a favorite of mine and worth coming here for that alone. Will dine here again.

My sister and I ate here on 1/19.
The restaurant was beautiful and didn't feel too cramped. Our server was excellent and kept our drinks refilled and informed us about when the characters would be coming so we would not miss them.
There was a great variety of food and everything was delicious.
The character interaction was brief but all of them were great, and it was fun to see less common characters (or at least ones we hadn't seen before) like Alice and the Mad Hatter. We are adults, but we also enjoyed watching them interact with the children around us.
We were on the dining plan, but felt it was very reasonably priced for a character buffet and already decided that we would return, with or without the dining plan.
The only negative thing was we waited 30 minutes after our ADR to be seated-this was the only restaurant this happened at.

My daughter wanted to go here for her birthday (22years) being a fan of Mary Poppins. The food was not good to say the least. The scrambled eggs were cold and watery. There wasn't much to choose from considering it was a buffet. The wait was long if you wanted specialty eggs (omelets etc.). I asked the host if they could sing Happy Birthday and they did with a little cupcake. For the price we paid I think the food should have been better. I expected more considering it was at the Grand Floridian. Mary Poppins and her friends were great.

While I don't remember seeing it billed as such, this is the literary-themed Character Dining experience - all of the characters we saw were straight out of Alice In Wonderland, Mary Poppins, or Winnie the Pooh. If you've already dined with Mickey and all his pals and would like to meet some other delightful characters, then I really suggest giving this breakfast a try.
We had a right-at-opening ADR on 12/11/12. The children in attendance helped to open the restaurant with a bit of Disney magic, which they obviously enjoyed. We had given them advance warning about my food allergy, and I was pleased to find that the chef already had a list in hand of what was and was not safe for me to eat when she came to our table. Our server was a little less understanding, especially when it came to beverages. (The fruit juice blend that's normally served was not safe for me, but even though the server had originally said otherwise, the kitchen was able to find 100% orange juice. This meant the server had to keep my glass separate and had to take it back to the kitchen for a refill. I don't think she appreciated the extra effort.) The fruit was fresh and full of flavor, the hot foods were kept hot without drying out. I also liked that the buffet was set at two different heights - adult and child.
The characters (Alice, Mary Poppins, the Mad Hatter, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too) were fun to interact with and to photograph. They began making their rounds shortly after the first-seated tables had the chance fill up their plates at the buffet and begin eating, and continued circulating throughout our meal. We never felt rushed, and were able to enjoy our breakfast without over or under eating. Neither my husband or I found it any noisier than a typical restaurant breakfast. In all, we both enjoyed it, and it's on our list for our next trip.

This was, by far, our BEST breakfast we had during our stay at WDW. DH and I ate here on our last day, 12/4/12 and it was such a great send off.
The carved ham was devine and the buffet was absolutely delicious. We loved all the characters who came to visit us. Pooh and Tigger came back for second hugs from us, was a lot of fun. Alice took time to record a short greeting to our young daughter (who was home) saying that she cant wait to meet her! This is one place that we will certainly bring the kids when we return in 2013!

We loved the buffet on 12/16! The ham and the strawberry soup were both amazing. So glad to have the recipe. The food here is better than Chef Mickey's breakfast and so much more relaxed. Chef Mickey's always feels like such a zoo (although the character interactions there are amazing).
The characters were great, even though my kids were scared of everyone but Alice. She was super sweet and engaged the kids in sticking out their tongues. Service is really discrete, too.

got a little crowded in our area, mad hatter took forever

This was our second time eating this character meal. Really loved the food selection. The characters were great. The Mad Hatter fell a little behind. He was taking his time and was very attentive to everyone. He was great but we waited a good while after we were done eating to meet with him as did several families in our area.
The area we were in was a little crowded this time. There were big families in the room and some of the kids were not wanting anything to do with the characters but the parents kept trying to get them to. Also, as time wore on the kids were getting more and more antsy and running around getting in other people's way.

We went on 11-9 (Fri) for a 10:05am ADR. Checked in at 9:45, was told 15 minutes but within 5 minutes our pager went off. This was 3 adults, no dining plan & celebrating my dad's 70th bday (which I noted on the ADR & mentioned again at check-in). We opted not to do the hallway picture so they didn't come to our table later (we did see them at other tables).
Sat down & waited a few minutes for our waiter since it was our 1st time. Gave us a chance to look around & take in the atmosphere. We were seated in the room where you enter/exit, but it wasn't too crazy. I saw the characters on the far side of the place so we went to get food right away.
Food was amazing! I took little samples of everything. The strawberry soup was good--something that on a hot day would probably be great, not so much on a 60* day. The lobster sauce over the egg & english muffin--heaven!! I went back for more of that. Made myself a candy sundae at the end too. The staff kept the plates cleared quickly & the waiter kept our drinks filled (what is that juice they serve?). Towards the end of our time, the waiter brought out a cupcake for my dad & lit the candle quickly so we sang.
The characters--that was fun! I don't ever recall doing a character meal so this was a first for me, but I liked it. We just wanted pictures, every character saw/mentioned my dad's bday button & they were all in role. I was excited for the Mad Hatter & he played the part great.
I thought it was great & well worth the money (especially when you look at what some of the other buffets charge). We were there maybe close to an hour (saw Pooh & Tigger twice), but never felt rushed. We found it enjoyable although it at times could be a little loud (I was expecting that from reviews here) until you got used to it.

Very nice character breakfast. My boys really liked Pooh and Tigger. The food was good, our server was very attentive (and has been an employee of Disney World since it opened!), and the price was reasonable. Out of all the meals we had on our trip, this is the one we all agree we would go back to!

3 adults in our party on July 23, which happened to be my daughter's birthday. Hostess escorted us to our table, and told us our server was very busy at the moment. She told us that our server would provide us with butter, ketchup & cream if we needed. We went to the buffet, got our omelets, came back to the table, and still no sign of our server. Finally, when she did show up, she seemed annoyed that we asked for Decaf coffee, and condiments. Never were we asked if we were celebrating anything! I saw that other tables were given birthday cupcakes. Also, since we were 3 adults, it seemed like we were ignored.
