Pros: ATMOSPHERE AND FOOD
Cons: WAITER LACKED IN PERSONALITY

THIS WAS A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE, ALTHOUGH THE WAITER REMINDED ME OF LURCH. THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND I WOULD GO BACK ON MY NEXT WDW VACATION.

Pros: Service and food
Cons: Bad tables for two

Had dinner here on 10/25. The food, ambiance, and our server, Ray, were great. Salad of romaine (a deconstructed Caesar salad) was excellant and I will only eat white anchiovies from now on. My husband's goat cheese truffle salad was also great. My husband enjoyed the halibut (that day's fresh fish) and the my veal shank was excellant, down to the marrow. The pace in the resort restaurants is so much more pleasant than the parks. My only comlaint is our table for two, near the lagoon window, was behind a pillar. Disney restaurants have no respect for tables of two.

Pros: Atmosphere, menu, service
Cons:

What a wonderful restaurant!

My guy and I enjoyed the "Sweetheart Dinner for Two" - it included a prix fixe menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts for us both, as well as a complementary glass of wine, two Disney "celebration" wine glasses, customized menus, and a photo.

Our server was exceptional - she knew the menu well and was able to make great suggestions and wine parings. For an appetizer, I enjoyed the crab cake while my guy had the goat cheese truffle salad. Both dishes were perfect - seasoned well, balanced, and delicious.

Our entrees were just as good: his salmon was flaky, fresh and delicate while my chicken and handmade noodles with pesto was rich and irresistible.

We enjoyed our meal so much that we returned to Citricos later in our trip for a second meal to enjoy the options off the full menu. My guy's veal literally melted off the bone and I'm still thinking about my short ribs with polenta.

Both of our meals were unbelievable. The service and food rivaled many of the five-star restaurants we've visited elsewhere.

Pros: Wonderfully prepared food and great service
Cons: No pasta in my favorite shrimp appetizer!

Had an 8:40 ADR for dinner at Citricos, one of my favorite restaurants at Disney World, on Friday, October 9th. It had been a long day in the parks with record heat, so because it was just too hot to stay out and about any longer, I showed up almost an hour early for my reservation. This apparently was not a problem and I was seated within minutes of checking in at the podium. I was celebrating my birthday that weekend and the CM who checked me in presented me with a celebration button (and later, during my meal, I received a personalized birthday menu!). I was shown to a table for two that I think I’ve been seated at before and ordered the sautéed shrimp appetizer and the only chardonnay they offered by the glass. I couldn’t decide on an entrée, so I asked my server for recommendations. She suggested the braised short ribs, the pan-seared halibut or the braised veal shank. I went with the halibut, done a little more well. I was a bit disappointed in the appetizer: there was no pasta in it, as there had been in the past. What a let-down. The halibut, though, was wonderful, perfectly prepared, and the red wine risotto it was served with was outstanding, not salty at all. I seem to recall enjoying a risotto here on a previous visit (a corn risotto maybe?). They obviously know what they’re doing when it comes to risotto—delicious!

Pros: amazing service and delicious food
Cons: none

I really can't speak more highly of our meal at Citricos. It is now officially our favorite restaurant at WDW.

As we were walking towards our table, two of the chefs looked up and both said Happy Birthday as I walked by. The head chef (the one standing on the outside of the kitchen to make sure things go out correctly) also wished me a happy bday. We were seated right next to the open kitchen, against the dividing wall. At first I was disappointed because I was hoping for a window seat but now I'm glad we sat where we did. I loved watching the chefs prepare all of the food. And we also got a little attention from the chefs since we were so close. When we were seated I noticed that my menu was personalized specifically to me and across the top of the menu it said "Happy 29th Birthday Jennifer!" Cute touch and we were allowed to take the menu home. Stephanie was our server and she was great throughout the whole meal.

To start off, I ordered a glass of Kings Estate Pinot Noir (From Oregon) and it was perfect. It has officially become my favorite wine EVER and I need to find out where it's sold in NJ. I went to their website and see that you can order it online so if all else fails, I'll do that. But seriously...amazing wine.

Our server then came to take our orders and answered any questions we had.

A few minutes later, compliments of the chef, she brought out this amuse-bouche...Moroccan couscous with squid, oysters, and another seafood.

Now...we're NOT seafood people. Just don't like it. So when this came out we were kind of in a bind. I took one for the team though and sucked it up and figured I could just eat the couscous.

Well? That couscous was delicious. Perfectly cooked, not mushy or crunchy, and had a nice mild seasoned flavor. Didn't taste the seafood at all. Then I got adventurous and a piece of the seafood. I really couldn't tell you what the heck it was I tried but it wasn't half bad. It was a small piece of 'meat' and I mixed it in with the couscous. I finished up my plate (leaving the rest of the seafood) and then decided that we couldn't just send back my mom's without a few bites taken out either so I ate her couscous as well. Mom's not adventurous...wouldn't even touch it.

For appetizers....

Mom chose the Salad of Romaine Lettuce. Not included in the description were marinated roasted peppers. Mom loved this and ate every last bite. I tried a bite and ate all the peppers and it was a delicious salad! The dressing was light and slightly sweet due to the riesling. Perfect proportion of salad/dressing. It was also a perfect size.

I decided on the Arancini Crispy Risotto. I know Arancini to be Sicilian rice balls...filled with parmesan cheese, mozzarella, ground meat, and tomato sauce. These were a GREAT take on them. Definitely different than typical arancini but wow. I could have made a complete meal out of these if they doubled it. I wanted to take a photo of these cut in half but I couldn't put my fork down, sorry! The greens they were plated on were drizzled with a balsamic glaze and it made them even better. They weren't greasy at all, and had a perfect combination of ingredients. Not sure exactly which four cheeses were included but nothing was overpowering. The head chef stopped by to ask how things were and I should have asked. I think I was just too enthralled in what I was eating, my brain wasn't working. I tried to slowly savor them...didn't do so well though. Went perfect with the wine.

Now on to the entrees....

Mom, the picky eater? Didn't see anything on the entree section that she wanted. I knew this was a possibility here so I suggested the shrimp appetizer to her. We asked the server and she mentioned that people ask for that as an entree all the time and they actually put the whole thing over angel hair to make it a meal.

Another winner for mom. She really enjoyed this but it was a HUGE portion. She ate almost all of the shrimp and every piece of feta. A few huge bites of angel hair and she was full. I sucked it up for the review and tried everything but the shrimp. The sauce was light and lemony, with a hint of wine. Not too heavy...and the dish wasn't oily at all.

I chose the Filet Sicilian - Oak grilled filet of beef with sweet vidalia onions and banana peppers, quattro formaggi crushed potatoes, and veal glace de vinade.

The filet was a little different this time than what I've been reading on old menus on allears. I was torn between the short ribs and the filet and I'm glad I chose this. The veal glace, banana peppers, and potatoes are what sold me. I could have cut the filet with my fork. I love food with a little kick and the banana peppers gave just a hint of heat. The potatoes and veal glace were fabulous. I really dont even know what other adjectives to use on this meal anymore!

Towards the end of our entrees I was seriously getting full. Like ridiculously full. I sadly had to leave the last few bites of my meal or else I would have exploded.

Our server came by and reminded us there was dessert! EEK!!

Mom ordered the Gelato Trio... the flavors of the day were raspberry, almond, and coffee. Mom really liked the raspberry, said it was nice and light. But she was too full to try any other flavors. I tried the coffee and it was delicious, surprise surprise. The poor almond I think went untouched.

I had the most scrumptious dessert... Warm Chocolate Banana Tart.

Wow...that's about all I can say. PLUS I was horribly nauseous full and I still thought this was amazing. I was actually MAD at myself for being so full and not being able to enjoy this. It reminded me of a flourless cake a bit, with caramelized bananas in it. Wish I could write more about it! The head chef stopped by again when he saw I wasn't eating much of the dessert to make sure it was ok. We actually brought the dessert back to the room but were SO full the whole week we never even touched it.
And again, as we left, every CM we saw wished me a happy birthday.

Would I eat here again? I'm already counting down the days. I squeezed it in during my solo trip because I loved it so much. Already planning out what I'm going to order!

Pros: Excellent Food, Great Service
Cons: none

I just returned from my WDW trip, 9/28-10/5 and we ate here our second night. At first I felt a bit uncomfortable with my two young children (3 and 5) who aren't the best behaved in restaurants but they were pretty good there and we were still treated very well.

The food was wonderful, I had the short ribs which just melted in my mouth and the chocolate banana torte was amazing.

I would definitely return here, however, I think it's better without the younger children as they are probably more annoying to the other diners.

Pros: Great service, Great food, all you need is the Great Company!
Cons: nothing

I recently came here (Aug 22nd!) with my family of four. Me (15), My Step-Sister(9), and my dad and step-mom. Our waiter was very attentive and happy to serve us. He explained every item on the menu, and then told us his favorites. I splurged and got a Strawberry Daiquiri (virgin of course!), My step-mom got wine, and my dad got water. My sister got some sort of juice. Our appetizers were great! The shrimp appetizers is TO DIE FOR! The crab appetizer is incredible to. The yellows tomato gazpacho is great too! Dinner was amazing. The striped bass is definitely a must have! Dessert was incredible! I recommend the chocolate-banana torte! Be prepared- it is very rich!

Overall, this restaurant is very kid friendly and very delicious. This is a must do for any Disney vacation!

Pros: Quality of food
Cons: Sort of condescending server

My husband, three kids (ages 12, 10, and 7), and I dined at Citricos in early August. I had been a bit apprehensive about this meal because the atmosphere seems very refined, and I was worried the kids wouldn't like it. But all was good! I had bass with risotto, my oldest had the chicken with pasta in wine sauce (he LOVED it), and my husband had filet Sicilian. All were excellent. The shrimp appetizer is also really good, so good in fact that I could eat this as a full meal. Our server seemed a bit aloof, but she was on top of things, so I can't complain too much, and her attitude was certainly not enough to ruin our experience. In fact, we're planning our Christmas trip, and my son said that we have to go to Citricos again, so it's on the top of our list of places.

Pros: Atmosphere, server attention, food selection, CHEF EDDY
Cons: None

We dine at Citricos one night during each of our trips to Disney. This trip my wife and I celebrated our 34th anniversary and my daughter and her husband celebrated their 1st anniversary (same date). I made an ADR for 6:00 PM.

On July 3rd we arrived at 6:05. Our server (Jamie) immediately met us at the podium and led us to the table in the Chef's Domain. I had not requested the Chef's Domain but Jamie had arranged it for us. I should add here that we have dined at Citricos more than 20 times over the years and we always request Jamie as our server.

The table in the Chef's Domain was laid out with two bouquets of roses, candles and red rose flower petals scattered across the table.

The dinner? As mentioned above, we have dined at Citricos many times, this dinner put all others to shame. We spent a quiet 5 hours dining, drinking and socializing with Jamie and the sous chef, Chef Eddy. After dinner and before desert we went down to the dock to watch the fourth of July preview fireworks show.

Throughtout the evening, both Chef Philip and Melissa, a manager, visited with us making the evening even more memorable.

On a sad note Chef Eddy informed us that he is being moved to the Coral Reef at The Seas in Epcot. We wish him all the best and will surely visit him there.

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing!

I have been a California Grill devotee for a long time, but I think Citricos may have eclipsed it now!

I went here with my grandmother on our last night at Disney on 4/2/09. We were both extremely impressed with everything.

We had ADR for 5:30 and we arrived a few minutes before and they seated us in about 30 seconds. The hostess was attentive and greeted us promptly.

We had an absolutely lovely waitress named Keira and another waiter, Jose, also helped serve us. Jose liked to tease Keira and give her a hard time, so the repartee between the two of them certainly added positively to our meal.

One of the first things Keira asked us when we sat down was if anyone had any special dietary needs. Well my grandmother is somewhat lactose intolerant, which can be difficult to explain. She can eat butter and most cheeses, just not milk or cream. Well not a problem, according to Keira. She said just a moment and came back with the sous chef, Edward. He told my grandma what she could eat, and what he could modify for her to eat.

I ordered the Romaine Salad to start with, and it was delicious. Crispy, fresh hearts of romaine, hearts of palm, and blue cheese crumbles with a Riesling vinaigrette. The salad had just enough dressing, it wasn't too much or too little.

A few minutes after I finished my salad (and not while I was still working on it!) our entrees arrived. They graciously let my grandmother order off the kids menu. She had the beef tenderloin which came with broccolini and mashed potatoes, but they made her some wonderful little roasted potatoes instead. It was probably a 4oz cut of tenderloin, and my grandma and I both thought it was the best steak we've ever eaten! And for $14 bucks! It was perfect for her because she eats like a bird, so even though she loves a good steak, she won't usually order them at Disney because they are $40 and up.
I had the Seared Halibut with Butternut Squash Risotto and a Red Wine Sauce. It was perfect! The fish was crispy on the outside, and perfectly moist, flaky, and tender on the inside. It was sparingly seasoned, as it should be, because the sauce was very flavorful. The risotto was amazing. My grandmother wanted to taste it so we asked Keira if it had any milk or cream. She quickly found out that it did not. So my grandmother tasted it, and loved it of course. I suppose Keira was watching because a few minutes later, Edward, the sous chef, came out with a little dish of the Risotto for my grandmother!

All of this time, our water and club sodas with lime, no ice, were always filled and we were being entertained by Jose poking fun at Keira.

After we finished our entrees, Keira offered us dessert, and we said we'd like to wait a bit before ordering. No problem....she never made us feel pressured to order and leave. At one point I noticed the awesome Mickey straws the little kids got with their drinks. Well call me silly, but I asked Keira if I could have one to take home. She then brought me out four, one in each color they had!

We had a table across from the dessert station, so it was fun watching the pastry chef prepare the desserts, and a great way for us to choose what we wanted! My grandmother settled on the Berry Gratin with a Champagne-Grand Mariner Sabayon - the only dessert she was able to eat on the entire trip due to her dietary restrictions. I tasted it, and it was amazing. The berries were so good....I don't where they got such amazing berries that early in the season! I had the Chocolate Banana Torte with Vanilla Ice Cream. I admit, I totally picked out this dessert because I loved the presentation. The warm little torte was topped with 3 caramelized banana slices and a purple candy Mickey Head. Next to the torte was a scoop of Vanilla ice cream. The plate was decorated with chocolate sauce and various fruit sauce drizzles. Behind the torte and ice cream was a chocolate cage-like piece with a little white medallion with the Cinderella castle that said "Celebrate Today!". Everything was edible. It was so pretty. And the torte was delicious! Warm, moist, dense cake like chocolate around a creamy banana filling. The ice cream had vanilla bean specks in it. It was too good for words.

I finished the meal off with a giant cappuccino. They sprinkled it with some cinnamon. Not too scalding to drink, but hot and delicious.

The chef came back to our table to schmooze and we about got down our knees to thank him for such a wonderful meal. He gave us both big hugs, his card, and told us to make to come back and see him!

Our meal was about $86 total, the same I paid for a lackluster meal at Les Chefs de France.....but this was a bargain in my book. I tipped 35%.

I would rate Citricos as an 11 if possible!

Pros: wait staff, food, and atmosphere
Cons: nothing

This was an incredible dinner! Our waitress was amazing and made great recommendations for our dinners. We all had different entrees, grouper, veal, and braised ribs. They were all amazing and lived up to how they were described.

I would eat here every trip! Very kid friendly!!

Pros: Food & service
Cons: None

We had a wonderful meal here the second week of March.

The service was excellent even though we were among the last seated for the night. We never felt rushed and our server treated us like it was early in the evening and we had all the time in the world.

The food was outstanding as usual and the desserts were so beautiful, we had to take pictures of them. I think that Citricos does not get the praise it deserves because it is lost in all of the wonderful options at the Grand Floridian.

Pros: Food & wine selection
Cons: Can't think of any

One of the best meals that I've had anywhere at Walt Disney World. Food was excellent, service was prompt and attentive without being obtrusive. Atmosphere was elegant and comfortable. Would definitely go again!

Pros: Beautiful restaurant, great service, good food
Cons: Could be considered a bit pricey

I arrived at Citricos, one of my favorite Disney restaurants, at about 8:40 p.m. or so for my 8:55 ADR and was seated right after I sat down on one of the comfy chairs to wait. The cast member who seated me commented that he liked my name because he doesn’t miss an episode of Seinfeld!

I was seated at the same table as the last time I dined here, so I had a terrific view of the tops of the 9:00 fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. I ordered an Imagine chardonnay (apparently they’re still serving it even though The Year of a Million Dreams is technically over) and the sautéed shrimp appetizer. I was torn between the Pan Roasted Wild Striped Bass and the Filet Jardinière for my entree, but in an effort to be more economical, I decided to go with the bass.

The shrimp appetizer was very good, but I don’t think it was served with penne pasta the last time I had it—maybe they ran out of what they normally serve (I think it used to be stracinati pasta). Anyway, the penne made the dish seem kind of ordinary—still delicious, but not as unique as before. The bass was very good, too, although the outside of the fish was kind of salty (maybe because I asked for it on the well done side?) and the pumpkin risotto was not as tasty as the corn risotto I enjoyed a couple of visits ago. But, it was still a fine meal, served in a wonderful setting.

Pros: Fabulous food, attentive service, beautiful room
Cons: A bit on the pricey side

I arrived at the Grand Floridian about 15 minutes before my 9:10 dinner reservation on Sunday, October 5th. The CM asked me if I was ready to be seated. I told her “yes” and was seated within minutes at a table for two in the middle of a pretty full dining room but facing towards the window so I could see the Magic Kingdom fireworks (scheduled for 9:30 that evening for the Halloween party).

The wine list book was the same that I’d been seeing at other Disney restaurants, but the selection was different, a bit more extensive. I ordered the Chalk Hill Imagine chardonnay because I’d enjoyed it at other restaurants. Menu items all sounded wonderful, so I asked my server for a recommendation. She suggested the sautéed shrimp and another appetizer and the grilled swordfish or the bone-in rib eye for an entrée. I decided to go with the shrimp to start and ordered the roast chicken breast for dinner. (I always have fish at Citricos, but wanted to try something different and didn’t have a taste for meat.) The courses came out more slowly than at some of the other Disney restaurants, which was nice—I can’t stand when dishes are served too quickly and/or too close together. And, I was able to get a good glimpse of the fireworks!

The sautéed shrimp appetizer, served with stracinati pasta, lemon, white wine, tomatoes and feta cheese, was absolutely fabulous—the broth was very buttery-tasting. They could’ve added more pasta, a few more shrimp and made it into an entrée—I would’ve licked the bowl! The roast chicken was wonderful as well—sliced breast served over pasta (some of which was black ink, which I love) in a light parmesan cream sauce with very firm English peas. Like the shrimp appetizer, this dish was another winner. I’d rank Citricos an 11 if I could!
