Positive aspects of the product (pros): Service
Cons: Not as good as dinner menu selections

It is a tradition to come here for dinner but this time we decided breakfast. The service was great...friendly and attentive. The food was just basic and just okay...fruit, cereal, scrambled eggs, quiche, cheesy grits, and pastry. Nothing spectacular as the dinner selections. Our waitress has very attentive to our needs. We tried the "moonshine" which was made of guava juice, passion fruit juice and orange juice. I did not care for it. Gad we tried it...but will be returning for dinner here.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Food, service

We did Sunday brunch here mainly because we heard the restaurant would accommodate vegans like my older daughter. My youngest daughter and I ate off of the buffet and it was really, really good. They have traditional breakfast food and lunch items including freshly carved meats. I stuck to breakfast items and had more food than I could eat. Baked goods like corn muffins pushed me over the edge. Our server was friendly and attentive. He talked to the chef and brought out a special tofu and vegetable dish for my vegan daughter which was flavorful and made her day. Fantastic experience all around!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Delicious Food
Cons: times when buffet was crowded

We really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant for a family dinner away from the parks. The sheer number of salads to choose from is overwhelming in a good way! The women in our party could have dined solely on the salads. The men however, loved the meat selection! Everything was delicious! This meal was more expensive than we expected, but still a good value for a Disney dinner.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Delicious breakfast buffet
      Cons: breakfast buffet overpriced

We went for breakfast at 8am but were greeted with a brunch buffet. It had all the good breakfast items, biscuits and gravy, eggs, breakfast meats and this delicious moonshine juice made of guava, orange and passion fruits. Also on display was a carving station, mac and cheese, cold shrimp and fried chicken but we weren't ready for all of that at breakfast, and definitely not the price of $23 a person.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): food was very good
Cons: it's a little tight inside

We had not been to Trail's End in several years. Our last visit was only okay but we decided to give it another try. Our reservation was for New Year's Eve and we thought it would be fun to visit Ft. Wilderness on NYE (and it was!)

We waited about 10-15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated despite arriving well ahead of time. And it really is tight inside. The aisles are all fairly narrow and you always need to be careful walking - especially with a plate of food!

Okay, that's it for the negatives. The service was great and the food was much better than we remembered. My favorite was the chili - it was thick, full of flavor and a little spicy. But everything I put on my plate was good. Everyone enjoyed the meal and we definitely won't wait as long to be back.

And I must mention the pumpkin pie moonshine! One of the best drinks I've ever had anywhere - not just at Disney! What a treat. Tasted great and boy, was it...effective!

After our meal, we walked around hoping to see some Christmas decorations - we've been to Ft. Wilderness at Christmas time before and enjoy looking at the crazy way people decorate their own little campers and campsites. But we were a little disappointed this year. I guess many people leave the campground prior to New Year's...?? There were a lot of people enjoying themselves though - dancing and having fun. There was a party at the beach area with music and games for the kids. Overall it was a fun night and I'm happy to recommend Trail's End.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great variety...hot food
Cons: Buffet area was crowded for the area

A major find that has become a tradition for over 4 years. The staff is very friendly and observant. It is a small area to obtain so much food so there were lots of "excuse me" and "I am sorry" being said among us all. The food was very tasty, hot, great variety, and no rush to leave. Great vegetarian selections. Can't wait to return in 2017.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great price for a buffet
      Cons: Long commute

We ate here on September 17, 2016, and it was our first time. We love Ft. Wilderness Campground and this gave us a reason to come by and wander through.

For a buffet, it is the most reasonably priced in WDW. No characters and that's fine with me. Rustic atmosphere with very attentive and pleasant staff. Buck met us at the door and asked if we'd ever eaten dinner with a buffalo. Well, we have now, at least its head.

The food is standard, comfort-food fare. I really liked the fried chicken because the coating was light and crispy. The brisket was great. Ribs were just okay. The mashed potatoes, mac 'n cheese and salads were fine. It is not the huge, expansive menu of most buffets in WDW. They have real brewed iced tea and even sweet tea for us Southerners. A very pleasant surprise.

The only downsides (besides eating too much) were the small area where the food was displayed and the dessert selections. The area was pretty tight most of the evening and although there were tables open and people waiting outside, the staff brought them in incrementally to keep the buffet area from getting unmanageable. At least they were addressing the issue. The desserts, while looking nice, were mostly flavorless. I ended up with the apple pie/cobbler as the better option with ice cream on the side.

It can be a time-consuming commute to enjoy all this food. We were staying in PORS, so we took a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then a boat to the campground. It is a short walk from the marina to the restaurant. Of course, being a beautiful night with a full moon, we had no complaints. Just plan ahead and you'll be fine. Tell Buck we said "hi."

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Excellent food and service
Cons: server didn't know facts, trivia or history of artifacts

I was extremely surprised that this buffet was as good as it was. My family talked me into eating at Trails End, and I'm glad we did! There were so many choices on the buffet that were not listed on the menu. The brisket and baked potatoes were to die for! My husband ate several plates of steamed shrimp. My daughter, 13 ate ribs, baked beans, mashed potatoes, fries chicken, salmon... The corn bread was moist and warm. There were endless salads, pastas, soups, fruit and desserts. One reason we ate at Trails End was because we rented a golf cart so we could drive around the campgrounds and see the decorated campsites/RVs, as well as watch the water parade and fire works from the beach and go to Chip and Dales campfire. This was one of our favorite evenings. We planned on taking the boat to MK but stayed at Ft Wilderness the entire evening!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): fantastic dinner buffet, excellent pricing and fantastic service.

This was a first for us. having recently read lots of fantastic reviews we decided to give it a try for dinner. WOW!
The restaurant is very quiet and located next to the Hoop De doo venue. We were seated early but it was July 2016 so you would expect the restaurant to be fairly busy but we were literally one of only six or seven tables at 5pm.
The service here was outstanding. Unfortunately, I can't remember the young man's name but he was everything WDW service should be and more.
The food is what we would expect of American buffets but can rarely be found at WDW. So much choice we could barely believe it. The buffet is small but a wonderful wide range of foods.
To start you can choose from soups, salads and chilli.
The carved park, southern fried chicken and ribs were amazing. We loved the addition of the jacket potato fixings bar.
For dessert there was fresh fruit (whole fruit for a change) plus traditionals like key lime pie and fudge brownie but the greatest dessert was the bread and butter pudding - this was the amazingly good.
Don't overlook this place. The meal also only cost $25 per head - great value.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Food, location, ease of reservations, price
Cons: Hard to get to without a car

Without a doubt, the best buffet on Disney property. Whether you are going to breakfast or dinner, you will not be disappointed.

The breakfast is plentiful and amazing. The French toast bread pudding is their signature dish and it alone is worth the travel time.

Because of it's secluded location and lack of characters, Trail's End is less expensive than the other buffets and no characters means no one glaring at you to hurry up and leave. You definitely get more bang for your buck.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great food and service
      Cons: none

Party of 9 ate dinner at Trails End on 08/07/2015. Nice boat ride from the Contemporary. The dinner buffet was loaded with good food. Everyone raved about their food even the kids enjoyed their food. Desserts really good too.
Short wait but the activities in front of the restaurant kept the kids happy while us older folks sat on the porch in the rocking chairs.
      Great experience.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Really good old fashioned yummy food
Cons: none really, great if you are staying @ Wilderness Lodge

It's such an out of the way wonderful spot for a good old fashioned breakfast and the ride on the boat is so fast. The waitstaff is fun and very friendly. I ate here with my best friend on 4/20/15 because my son and daughter in law and I had eaten at Christmas time and I wanted to show her what a wonderful restaurant this is. We are A/P holders so we can come a little more often. The food is so fresh and hot and some of the items are not found on other buffets we have tried, and of course that wonderful juice is served also......
We are coming in the fall again and will of course eat here. If you drive, you do have to get on a bus at the campground, but that was fun the first time also. We have eaten here 3 times and will be back.
The price is definitely worth it and is not overpriced as some spots can be at Disney. We haven't tried dinner, but we may this fall when we come after Thanksgiving for a week.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): price
      Cons: food quality

We were really looking forward to dining here as my hubby enjoys walking around at the resort and enjoying the many things to do here. We had heard mixed reviews but decided to try it anyway. The buffet price was reasonable, but the food quality wasn't very good. The carved meats were tasty, but the food on the buffet line was awful. The hot food was luke warm and dried out. Neither of us are picky eaters but we both agreed that this was not a very good meal. We don't often encounter meals at Disney that we are unhappy with, but this one was a waste of time and money. The dessert was alright. We had a nice choice of baked goods and ice cream with toppings to choose from. I can't comment on the baked goods. We figured we'd better stick with the ice cream. Can't mess that up. Our server refilled our drinks almost at the end of our meal, and spent most of his time chatting with the people working behind the bar. Glad we tried it, but won't be back. Hopefully they'll improve the quality of food before they lose more customers.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Convenient location
Cons: Poor service, poor quality food

Stopped by for lunch on February 28, 2015. We ordered fried green tomatoes and cornbread for appetizers, which were great. My husband ordered catfish and was satisfied. I ordered chicken and waffles. I had this dish last August and it was great. This time the waffles were overdone. When I told the waiter, he took them back and brought new. These were just as bad. He said the chef claimed that was the only way they could be made with their skillet. Then he took away both the waffles and chicken without asking if I was done. He never asked if I wanted anything else. He never refilled my tea or our water. The dish was removed from the receipt so we did not have to pay for it. Very bad experience at a usually reliable restaurant.
