Pros: Being able to park in front of your unit.
Cons:

This is our home resort so we're a little biased. We always request a unit in the South Point area, usually building 56, this time we not only got our requested building, but the same room as last year. From this building it's a short walk to the quiet pool and bus stop.

It was our 1st time using the Disney Dining Plan and we're still trying to figure out if it was worth it. Trying out all the different restaurants was great, but having to be in a certain park at a certain time conflicted with our usual free spirit way of plannig out our days. And we ending up eating way more then usual.

We enjoy the larger rooms that OKW affords, and can't say enough about having the car just outside the front door, although with the DDP we hardly touched the car this trip. Still, unloading/loading the car is easier when it's right there.

Pros: Size of room, Calm atmosphere
Cons:

We love OKW. Very relaxing place to stay - with great rooms. Only possible drawback is how spread out everything is (both a positive and a negative) so it is a hike or bus ride to eat or play, but this is also why it seems so quiet and secluded. Glad to see they are updating the decor (2010).

Pros: Location, Quiet and Comfortable
Cons: Few

We stayed in a clean & spacious one-bedroom unit. Very well equipped and comfortable. Ask for a unit close to hospitality house. Avoid the bus for Downtown Disney (took us an hour), take the boat instead--it's much quicker. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had no complaints about cleanliness of unit, but a woman I talked to said her unit was dusty (it may depend on the mousekeeper you get). Large resort looks like a golf course community rather than a hotel. Main pool was warm, but the slide was fun. My son must have ridden it 30 times. Close to all Disney parks and the bus system was very efficient.

Pros: Home Away From Home!!
Cons: ----

This our our Home Resort for Vacation Club, and by far our favorite, the Home Away From Home is a fitting statement. We had a 2 bdr condo and 2 studios for the 9 of us for 7 nights/8 days, and per our reservation request, we were right across from the hospitality house in the same building. Which made for a quick early morning jaunt for my grandson Tyler and me to get the daily newspaper and a supply of candy every morning. Staff was great, although I think a little worn out from the construction around the Hospitality House Bus and Luggage area. Beautiful surroundings, and the boat to Downtown Disney, was punctual, and a great way to take a break to and from Downtown Disney. Make sure if staying here to have breakfast one morning at Olivia'a and get the Omelot with Everything they offer in it as our waiter suggested, it was great, and the hash browns are fantastic.

Pros: Size of Rooms, Location
Cons: Housekeeping, shape of Villa upon Check-in

DVC Members and we checked into Building 29 Grand Villa on Sunday, June 6th. Dishwasher had been pulled out away from the wall, kitchen supplies missing, light bulbs out in two bathrooms, toilet tank out of alignment. All of the above except toilet and supplies taken care of within one hour of checking in. Sheets for fold out sofa were thrown on the bed in the master bedroom, pillows and blanket missing for sofabed. Now the good - we loved the amount of room and enjoyed the resort itself. Olivia's was very good and enjoyed our last day watching England vs. USA at the Gurgling Suitcase. Transportation for the most part was excellent except to EPCOT, but we had trouble everywhere with EPCOT transportation. The boat to Downtown Disney was excellent and our 4 month old granddaughter loved it. Overall not bad, but I think we will go back in few years when the renovations are over and constuction is finished.

Pros: Pleasant Resort with very large rooms
Cons:

We enjoyed the tropical surrounds of this resort and the large rooms. Everything was clean and in working order. This resort may be older than the other DVC resorts, but it is well maintained and the mature trees and plants really enhance it's beauty.

The remodeled pool with a slide was a big hit with our children, the slide is larger than at the other DVC resorts. the pool area could use more umbrellas as it can get really hot sitting there in the summer. We enjoyed the camp fire s'mores and may of the pool activities.

Pros: Largest units for DVC, great ambience
Cons: Some areas need rehab

We hold 800 points and booked in for our 25th wedding anniversary. I recall the good old days where there would have been a balloon, a card or even a towel animal. Nope, just a red button at check in. I think that our annual dues support more than that. We asked for buildings 16 or 62, neither could be worked out even though we were here for nine nights. We still adore the big rooms here and are assured that rehab is ongoing.

Pros: Boat to Downtown Disney
Cons: Big resort, we were always the last bus stop.

This was our second time staying at Old Key West. We were in building 18 near the Millers Road bus stop. Not a far walk from the Hospitality House and close to the bus stop and quiet pool which we used daily. Always plenty of clean towels at the pool even at midnight. Our studio was clean and fresh. So many people say it needs refurbishing but I couldn't tell from what I saw. We rented bicycles one morning and rode down to the Saratoga Springs Resort. This was the highlight of our trip. Such fun for a whopping $11.00 for the 2 of us. We had the bikes out 40 minutes. Wide sidewalks to ride on and a nice path along the water and golf course. Also, rented a Sea Raycer another morning which also was fun. I like this resort a lot. The boat to go downtown is always a plus and we never had to wait more than a few minutes for it. Nice resort.

Pros: Bright colors and lots of room
Cons: no elevator

This was our second stay at Old Key West. We stayed in a two bedroom on Miller Road. I like the bright colors and open feel in the rooms. My only complaint is no elevators. We were on the third floor, so an elevator would have been nice after a day in the parks! Check in could have been smoother, but all in all everything was fine.

Pros: Huge rooms and great decor
Cons: Needs updates

This is still our favorite resort because of the huge condos and great amenities. If you want lush landscaping, a real "Florida" feel, great pools and super views from the rooms (golf, water, some fireworks views), stay here. The rooms have aged (carpet and furniture), but they are going through the property and updating.

We came back one evening eager to enjoy the jetted tub. Alas, there was no hot water. Engineering came out and got the "boiler" going again. This morning, when all five of us wanted a shower before driving seven hours home, we were again without hot water. Engineering came out, tested the temp in our water supply and said, yes, you have no hot water. Grrrr. Two hours later, five chilly showers later, we hit the road. Watch out for Building 43.

Pros: Beautiful, Relaxing and Easy Access to Downtown Disney
Cons:

Stayed in a Studio at Old Key West from January 23 to January 27, 2010. Our home resort is Saratoga Springs (which we absolutely love). We decided to stay at OKW since the points were less. We were pleasantly surprised since this is the oldest DVC. The room was beautiful and spacious. The grounds were lovely. Our air conditioner was not working well but within 30 minutes someone was there fixing it. We ate at Olivia's which we enjoyed. We will be staying here again and would recommend this to others.

Pros: Spacious, great view, quick mousekeeping staff
Cons: No "quick access" to the main house, uncomfortable pull out bed.

We stayed in a two bedroom villa (#3313) from January 15-19. This villa was very spacious and had a great view of the golf course and pond with fountain. We were a little worried being that this is the oldest DVC resort, but were very happy with our stay. Being that we were there with our children, and two sets of parents, we let them have the bedrooms along with our children, and we stayed on the pull out sofa bed. This was pretty uncomfortable and not suitable for adults. Would probably be fine for children who aren't as picky about where they are sleeping. We were also disappointed that there was no quick access to the hospitality house other than the main walkways. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay though, and will put this on our "Would stay again" list.

Pros: beautiful grounds, room size, kitchenette
Cons: dated room that needed cleaning

We stayed in a studio 1/7 - 1/13. Our room was in building 39, at the end of Turtle Pond Road. Quiet location as far as resort noise, but some noise from the nearby road. I could hear the start of the marathon on 1/10 but we had been warned with phone calls of possible noise from the race starts on 1/9 and 1/10. Balcony view was of woods but it was too cold during our stay to sit there.

There were two queen-sized beds in a decently sized room. Also a table with 2 chairs and a chest of drawers that doubled as the TV stand. The kitchenette is a great feature - we made a grocery run and stocked up on snacks, breakfast items and beverages. The bathroom is huge - plenty of room for two people.

This particular room could use a good cleaning. Dust on light fixtures, behind the doors, etc. And the furnishings are beginning to show some age as well. We were missing several items - paper plates and bowls, utensils and dish detergent. They were brought promptly when we called. Trash and towel service on day 4, as promised.

The grounds are beautiful. Plants and trees are full-grown and give the resort a "tropical" feel. As it was so cold, we didn't use the village pool but I did visit the hot tub once. That area was very clean and well-maintained.

Buses were prompt for the most part. Only once did we wait an extended time for a Magic Kingdom bus.

I highly recommend Old Key West and would gladly stay there again!

Pros: Huge villa, peaceful location
Cons: Counter service limited

We stayed at OKW in a one bedroom villa in Dec. I did the online check in and everything went smoothly upon arrival at 7pm. Room was spacious with a laundry room with full size washer and dryer. Our home resort is BWV and this was our first stay in a one bedroom at this resort. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Room was clean and everyting worked properly. Resort is peaceful. We love Olivia's.

Pros: Lots of Space, Central Location, Minimal Points Required
Cons: Third Floor, No Elevator

I stayed solo in an OKW studio (building 18) Dec 6-11 2009.
Transportation: I think OKW works best with a rental car, which I had. I knew Disney Studios was close, but I was surprised at how quickly I could get to the other three parks. OKW is just a few hundred yards from Epcot Drive, which not only takes you to Epcot in just a few minutes, but also to MK and AK with an absolute minute of traffic lights. One morning I timed myself -- it took me 12 minutes from the time I walked out my door until I was in Epcot. (This is a best case scenario.) That same day I took a break in the afternoon, and rather than give up my great parking space I took the bus back to OKW. When returning to Epcot, I had to wait nearly 30 minutes for an Epcot bus even though two buses each for MK, DS, and DTD went by first. Bus service seems good, except for the one you actually need.
Room: The room seemed much larger than the studios at other DVC resorts, perhaps because the space is used well. In particular the bathroom is roomy with lots of counter space. Amenities included a small refrigerator at no additional charge, toaster (crucial!) and microwave plus plastic/paper plates, bowls, silverware, and real drinking glasses, an iHome clock/radio, and a large room safe that easily held my 15" laptop -- I'm sure a 17" would also fit. A family of four would do better in here than in many hotel rooms as the queen beds seemed generously sized. There was a small balcony but not much of a view due to trees. The only disadvantage was that I was on the third floor with no elevator, so bringing up my luggage and Owner's Locker by myself was a bit of a struggle. If you have any sort of mobility issues be sure to request a ground floor room!
Resort: I didn't take advantage of the recreational facilities, but the service at the front desk and bell station was excellent, and using the laundry nearest my room went smoothly; I was shocked to find out it was free! There are quarter slots in the machines but you don't have to put anything in them.
Considering I only used 8 points per night (equivalent to $80-$100), it was an incredible value!
