(Note: My mother and I were on DDP and the server knew this right away.)
I'm surprised by all of the reviews about receiving poor service and speculating that it was due to being on DDP. Our server, David, was absolutely fabulous and he knew that we were on DDP.
We split the Suckling Pig Flatbread. At $13, we expected more meat on the flatbread, but I still cleaned the plate. My mother said she wasn't a fan of the smokiness of the flavor, but I loved it.
I had the Veal Chop and my mother had the Filet of Beef. My mother ate every bite of her filet, and it was cooked perfectly to medium-well. She said it even surpassed her beef at Le Cellier! I enjoyed my veal, it was very tender and we both liked our sides. David was very attentive, bringing out drinks without having to tell him.
During Wishes, he brought out a plate cover for my mother's food, so it would stay warm during the fireworks. I thought that was a nice touch.
Note: We were there this past week, and remember, you are on the top floor of the hotel- it is COLD UP THERE! I was freezing during Wishes, so if you are going to be there during a cooler season, remember to bring a coat! We were waving to DVC members at Bay Lake Tower before the fireworks.
Dessert was lovely, and my latte was perfect. I had the chocolate cake and I forget what my mother had.
Our server was amazing, and I felt very confident about giving him a great tip.
The one con is that the restaurant was full of obviously exhausted children with their parents. There were many temper tantrums throughout the dinner and it detracted from the experience. I know that CG has no control over that, but it was worth mentioning. The open kitchen is also a touch noisy.
I enjoyed my food and service here much more than I enjoyed the food and service at Citrico's the previous fall. If you are in love with Wishes and have some TS credits to spare, spend them on CG- you won't regret it!
