Pros: Perfectly cooked fillet
Cons: Service and some favors that a picky eater may not like.

My husband and I ate here on 4/7 and we ordered a bottle of African Wine and both got the fillets. The meat itself was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, though it was a bit overly salty for my taste. The steaks were served with some sort of grain, which neither my hubby or I were keen on trying. There were also some Brussels Sprouts, which I was looking forward to. I found the Brussells Sprouts in edible.
The bread we got before dinner wasn't quite my style either. (since when does a fat girl pass up bread?!)
Dessert was delicious, but service was very slow. I'm glad we went, because now I never have to go back.

Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Location, Host's, Wine List
Cons: Service

This really is a Fantastic Restaurant I think it is the most formal restaurant on property (besides V&A's) Food is outstanding and different than anywhere else on property really enjoyable and would recommend to anyone! The Wild Boar App and the Filet are both great! If you like tea I recommend the Tea Safari for Dessert...

Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Service, average food

Food was acceptable but average. Was expecting more based on reading previous reviews. Service was slow and waitress did not seem that interested in our table, we had to keep trying to get her attention. We were on the dining plan with a large group, perhaps the mandatory tip amount impacted her motivation.

Pros: wine list, tea list, service, interesting food
Cons: mostly hits, but a few misses

This is still one of the best restaurants at Disney. Love the hot towels that come out before the meal. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wines and steered us in the right direction. The "taste of Africa" starter is great! You can still get the filet with the mac & cheese as it was served a few years ago. The short rib was great but needed a different side. Desserts were pretty good, but the tea and coffee are the real stars. We LOVED our meal here!

Pros: Food
Cons: Location

The food was good and the menu theme was a nice change from the other WDW restaurants. The menu items we chose were on the heavier side so I would be curious how their lighter entrees taste.

The flat bread wasn't all that impressive though so I think I would opt for a different appetizer next time.

Pros:
Cons:

Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Jiko in September with my DH. Seated on time with our ADRs, restaurant was busy but not too crowded. One of the best meals of our vacation, wait staff very attentive. Cheese tray and flatbread for appetizers, both great and good to share between two people. DH ordered the filet (excellent) and I had the chicken (great flavours). Desserts were excellent as well and we received a free "extra" dessert with an anniversay card from the restaurant. We dined on the deluxe dining plan, this is a meal worth 2 dining credits. We will be back!

Pros: very attentive staff, good food,
Cons: not for everyone, need to take a cab

This is a great restaurant for those with a love of wine, or adventurous palates. The staff is incredibly attentive, and the food--although unfamiliar to many Americans--was very good. Would I recommend it to a "meat and potatoes" type of person? Probably not. But my traveling companion is a "foodie" and he loved it. I had a swordfish steak, and although I am not a big fish eater, I have to say it was very good, not fishy at all. One of the side dishes I didn't care for, but the other dish--roasted sweet peppers--was absolutely delicious.

There was a bit of a wait, but that gave us time to watch the animals and check out the pool. The only major downfall is the location. You pretty much need to take a cab to any one of the other Disney resorts, since AK closes early, before dinner time.

Pros: Rare quality
Cons:

Dinner at Jiko is a special rare experience. I had a sampler of cheese for appetizer. The selection had a story card, types of cheeses, cow goat or sheep and was accompanied by some palette clarifying sweet figs, chutney and gels. The crackers to put the cheese on were very delicate.
I had the duck which was done perfectly pink, with a spinach and potato accompaniment. I choose a beer from Kenya, Tusker, but the wine list looked extensive. Duck, cheese and beer sounds like a Wisconsin theme but this was truly a dish with African flavors.

Pros: THE FOOD!!! little gazpacho and cookie samples
Cons: view

My wife and I had a date night here while my son enjoyed Club Simba. We arrived a little early but got seated right away. After placing out drink orders, one of the other servers brought around a little sample of gazpacho. We also had the beef rolls which were good, but what we really love is the cheese plate. If you have never tried this, it is amazing, each cheese comes with it's own accompaniment, many may seems odd but trust the chef. My wife and I both had our meals which were great and different from many of the other restaurants around the World. Along with dessert came some complimentary chocolate cookies.

The only down side is the view. Some tables overlook a water feature. But my own table looked at either a column or the back wall. I guess I'm just use to the sites of the California Grill.

Pros: delicious, relaxed
Cons:

Well I should start off by saying that my mom and I were about ten minutes late to our reservation. We were misdirected by one of the staff as to which part of the Animal Kingdom Lodge we needed to be at for dinner. We explained this to the hostess, but they did not seem to care and we ended up waiting for at least 30 minutes before they sat us. This was kind of annoying, but maybe not their fault since we were late... I don't know. Once we were seated, the experience was awesome! They brought out little rose scented towels to clean our hands before dinner and the service and food were great. We both had the filet mignon. We felt very pampered and relaxed. A great meal and I highly recommend - just make sure to get there on time! Smile

Pros: food, service, atmosphere
Cons:

DH and I dined here on 1/14. This was our second visit and we loved it as much as the first. We had the sweet potato soup, the pork tenderloin, curry shrimp, the chocolate mousse trio. Everything was perfectly prepared, plated beautifully, and more importantly delicious.

This is one of our favorite places to dine and we will likely return with each visit. It has replaced California Grill as our favorite spot. Jiko is much quieter, has a great atmosphere, and offers new flavors that can't be found anywhere else in the parks/resorts.

Pros: excellent food
Cons: Very Expensive

Very good food with lots of variety. Excellent wine menu and our server was very good. I am glad we tried this place but will not return due to expense, plus I want to try other places. Definitely recommend trying at least once!

Pros: the food, service and overall welcoming feel
Cons: nothing

My mother, son and I dined here on December 29, we checked in about 10 minutes early but the problem was a backlog of guests waiting to check on or waiting for tables so it was very crowded, however despite that we were seated about 5 minutes beyond our reservation. The seater was very friendly as was the waiter. He explained the menu to my mom who has an allergy to olive oil and was able to suggest alternatives she could have. Our drinks arrived followed quickly by appetizers, the African breads and dips, red pepper curry soup which was awesome and the cheese selection. The waiter also suggested a good wine to accompany the meal.
Entrees arrived and were delicious, mom had the steak which was cooked perfectly, with a plain potato accompaniment, DS had the perri perri chicken which he spent little time polishing off, I had the falafel and bunny chow curry, which was also extremely good. To finish we had two hot teas from the selection and a speciality coffee, which was also very good.
Overall it was a very delightful evening, the food, service and atmosphere was great, and this has become one of our all time favorite restaurants, you have to try it
