Not worth your money or time!!

This is lengthy, but it just shows how everyone we encountered essentially lied to us and put our belongings and safety at risk.

So sad to write about this terrible experience, as I was traveling with my whole family and a Disney employee (we thought we would be treated well and service would be excellent), especially since it's almost $400 a night.

Our first day and check-in went well and the room was decent, but nothing special.

The second day, however, after being away from our room all day at the parks we returned to our room door propped open with a door latch and we were immediately concerned. I walked in and asked my partner if he might have not closed the door fully not assuming it had anything to do with the staff. But then I noticed there were fresh towels in the bathroom and realized the housekeeping must have not fully closed our door. I began to panic thinking the worst. We rummaged through our belongings hoping everything was still accounted for, and we agreed everything important was still there. We called the front desk and put them on speakerphone so we both could hear what the reason for this would have been. The front desk connected us to the manager of housekeeping, who seemed concerned and apologetic which we appreciated. He promised us he would leave us a voicemail tomorrow following up with the investigation details as well as a credit to our room for $100 (not enough but we agreed as we know people can make mistakes). I asked him how I should receive this voicemail and he said don't worry you will see it on your phone tomorrow. He also went into detail about the next day's actions, in which a housekeeper would come accompanied by a manager in order to ensure the absolute safety and completion of services, and that our room would look amazing. I thanked him for his help and we finally got some rest.

The following morning, we went to the cafeteria to use our credit for breakfast, apparently, you can only credit your room with a room key (we didn't receive it as we did check in through the app) or a wristband (you have to buy separately). So we spent our own money (frustrating because the only reason we didn't eat at the park was that we had this credit) and kept the receipt to bring to the front desk once we returned from the park that evening. I had my partner discuss the situation and the refund for the breakfast with the front desk while I went to the room to check for a voicemail. I entered my room, and I noticed nothing was clean, the beds were still messy, no fresh towels, and nothing had been done. Also, of course, no voicemail follow-up from the manager. Everything they said they would do essentially was not done. We then (at around 11 pm after a long day) went to the front desk again to let them know about all of this. They were understanding and went to go get a manager. After standing and waiting for 20/30 minutes, the staff member reappeared and told us to have a seat the manager would be out to speak with us. We spoke with a manager named Chicho for about 30 more minutes he offered us one night off our bill and a complimentary stay in the future for one night at any of the resorts. I was hesitant since I don't feel safe or comfortable staying at this resort and how could I determine that the others would be better, but we accepted these accommodations. My partner asked if he should go talk with the front desk before we went back to our room to make sure they knew about this deal (since we were checking out the next morning). He assured us that he would take care of everything and we would be good to check out the next day with the new adjustments. We finally got to bed around 1 am.

The next morning we were checking out, and we went to the front desk to see the newly adjusted charges. They informed us that they didn't have any notes about the changes and they proceeded to call over a manager. This manager said she couldn't trust our word and those gifts are very excessive so she would need to talk to someone else about it all. We were extremely frustrated that we consistently had to explain this situation over and over, as well as no one following through with anything they promised us. She eventually had the bill adjusted and we went through the charges at length it felt very hostile throughout her explanation. We came to the end of our discussion and she turned around and walked away without saying any type of apology or empathetic sentiment for the situation. We felt more upset from being accused of things while Disney staff were the ones who promised so many things and never delivered them.

I rarely write anything bad about any service unless it truly was significant and I really don't want other people to go here, spend their savings on an excellent experience, and get treated poorly and consistently lied to. I know for a fact I will never be staying here again and I will let everyone know about my experience.

Pros:

Some friendly staff

Cons:

Housekeeping left our door open all day Lying staff Poor food quality Overpriced Essentially no housekeeping

We recently stayed at the Casitas section at Coronado Springs and I imagine the room had been recently updated because it was incredible! I had seen pictures before, but when I got there I was impressed at how beautiful and modern it looked. The beds were very comfortable and the room was pretty spacious. The only "bad" thing is that the rooms are not so close to the main building and it's a bit complicated to remember the fastest way to get there as all the buildings look the same and you can get lost easily. I can't imagine how it is to stay at the Ranchos or Cabanas which are waaaay further than the Casitas, I think my review would be different if that had been the case. Having said that, the landscaping is incredible! The plants, the fountains, the lights, everything makes your walk enjoyable even though it's far from the main building.
All in all, my experience was great! The food at the Mercado del Coronado was very good and we also ate at Three Bridges and I loved it!

Pros:

The room had been recently updated and was very comfortable; the food options were pretty good and THE LANDSCAPING!

Cons:

Generally rooms are far from the main building and depending where you stay, your experiece could be different.

First visit to WDW and chose this hotel to be a little less in-your-face for a 14 night visit. We stayed in the Gran Destino Tower with a water view room. The facilities were well maintained, within walking distance and food options were plentiful. If there wasn’t so much choice at WDW, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. It felt like home for 2 weeks and would recommend this to any couple or family with older children, but perhaps not for a family with younger children wishing to indulge and immerse them with lots of Disney. There are subtle nods to Walt, Mickey and a few other characters, but there are other hotels that provide much more obvious touches to IP.

The rooms were spacious, modern and bright. The view was incredible, even being able to see the castle at the window at the end of the hallway. From our room we could see Mount Everest. From the lounge at the top of the tower, there were views of Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The bathroom was large with a sliding door, plus a separate toilet. It was have been even better if these were 2 separate rooms. Very bizarre that the towel rail was in the toilet and not next to the shower (not even reaching distance). The shower was large with a waterfall head, with good pressure and refillable bottles of shampoo, body wash and conditioner. The sink area has plenty of space for 2 people with lots lotions & potions, with cupboard space under the sinks. The beds were comfortable with extra pillows, space under the bed for storing 2 suitcases under each bed.

As a Brit reading previous reviews, we read about the sprawling resort being a pain, however this wasn’t a problem as a Brit that doesn’t mind walking. Sure, it’s ungodly hot during the summer, but a short walk to the pool isn’t a terrible option.

The main pool was a delight (frustrating but understandable when closed for daily thunderstorms), which had a large hot tub, pool bar with snacks and a fountain to refill your resort mug. There was an incident in the pool which required a lifeguard and they were in the pool instantly. There was entertainment, music and fireside s’mores and sangria (the latter both at a charge).

Close to the pool was also a gorgeous restaurant (Three Bridges). Great option to mobile order there when you’re by the pool and feeling peckish, though also a lovely place to dine in. The highlight of the property is Toledo’s. The service was friendly, warm and attentive, with some gorgeous food (I’m still dreaming about the roasted Brussel sprouts, which I never thought I’d be doing in my life). The Dhalia lounge provides a viewing area for the fireworks which was a delight, as well as some delicious tapas (not the same as European portions, they’re much bigger and we definitely over-ordered). The service as Dhalia was a little confusing as it was bar and table service, but table service for food. This wasn’t made clear, but the staff were incredibly attentive once we had been to the bar to order (obviously, they’re working for tips). The tapas wings were immense. El Merdcudo was great for a quick bite to eat (chicken tenders - yum!) and the sports bar was easy for a burger.

Service was great. The cleaning was done every 2 days, with one day coming home to some towel art and a cute note from the cleaner - such a magical little touch. We did request some extra pods each time which was sometimes met, sometimes not. We had parcels delivered to the hotel (at a charge on checkout) which turned up in our room (felt bad that we didn’t get to tip). Reception was always helpful with questions, even helping us out with a Genie+ request. However there was on time we did ask a question on the app and went to reception to check this out as we hadn’t got a reply. She alluded to that she had read this but clearly hadn’t replied, despite there being lots of staff and no one at the desks; this was a little frustrating.

The buses were never an issue even during peak times (in fact we had more of an issue with the buses during a visit to Fort Wilderness) - they were regular, though they weren’t always consistent with whether the Tower was the first or last stop. In theory, the Tower should have been the last stop in the internal loop (4 stops in total) to get to the parks and the first to Disney Springs. The longest journey would be to Magic Kingdom but it never felt like a long bus ride. It was easiest to get a ride share to a water park to miss the change at Disney Springs. The buses started early enough to make it for at least 30 mins before park opening to get ahead of the queues.

Pros:

Lots of places to eat, efficient internal bus loop, friendly & helpful staff, great views from the tower

Cons:

Internal bus loop, mousekeeping every other day, laundrette payment system was a nightmare to use

This was such an unexpected surprise! The Gran destino tower room was probably my top Disney resort/hotel room of all time. I booked a standard view, and yes right below me was the utilities area, but in the distance I could see most of Epcot and HS, and the swan and dolphin. I could watch Tower of Terror change colors throughout the night, from where my head was on my pillow! The room is beyond gorgeous, and very functional- it seems like every detail was thought through. The housekeeping staff was attentive and quick to respond to requests. Dining options were plentiful and varied, however longer hours would be nice. The property is absolutely beautiful, it is sprawling but the grounds are gorgeous. May be better for a cooler season of you need to walk a bit around the resort, but it’s worth the walk and the look around

Pros:

Gorgeously updated rooms (both tower and standard rooms), wide range of dining options, good customer service

Cons:

Internal bus has multiple stops and can take some time, especially coming back after park close. Hours for some dining areas are a bit limited

Gran Destino Tower is beautiful! The staff was very courteous and helpful whenever I had a question. The scent of the resort is also pleasant. The rooms were clean upon arrival, and had lots of charging options for your electronic devices. The TV was easy to navigate, and offers streaming options from your iPad or other mobile devices. We even got to meet Donald and Goofy in the lobby!

My only real complaint was the towels, trash, or recycling never got tended to by the housekeeping until I made a comment to the front desk. On day 5 of our trip they did finally address it. We did have a car, so I can't comment on the bus system. But driving from the resort to the parks was extremely easy and quick.

Pros:

Central location in WDW. Food is good. Resort is very warm and inviting. Lot's of great options. Parking lot attendants were friendly.

Cons:

Food is pricier for a moderate resort. Room didn't get clean towels or trash pick-up for 5 straight days.

The resort itself is beautiful with a relaxing and fun vibe. I loved the hammocks on the beach near the Cabanas area and the outdoor area of the Dahlia Lounge. My room was fine but it had some strange design choices the worst being the sinks which had this wierd overhang that made it very difficult to wash your face as you kept bumping into the overhang. Also while the resort has a ton of restaurants many are only open for dinner and the quick service closed between lunch and dinner leaving no quick service option for about two hours. Lastly the retail shop was so so without a lot of options, even less than the gift shop at Art of Animation value resort.

Pros:

Beautiful grounds and relaxing nooks and crannies. Great lounge with a view

Cons:

Dining hours limited. Room less functional than desired

We stayed in the gran destino tower and it was awesome! We love all the food options, pool, decor and it smells amazing in the lobby! I loved the cafe bombon from the Barcelona lounge. The views are amazing. We could see mt Everest from our room and walking around at night was gorgeous 😍 the rooms are spacious and modern and a nice break from the busyness of the parks. We never had to wait long for a bus.

Pros:

Spacious rooms Lots of food options Pool Beautiful views Lobby smells like heaven

Cons:
