Pros: Few people present at tea, individual attention towards princesses
Cons: the photographer

My princess and I absolutley loved the tea. We attended the tea on 10/26/09. They had it at Citrico's in the GF. There were only six girls at the tea so everyone one of them got a huge amount of attention from Rose Petal, Aurora, and Mr. Branch. Everyone got their music requests in; even some more than once. The food was good and so was the cake. Rose Petal and Aurora talked to the adults a lot as well. I have always heard that a lot of people can show up to this tea so it was a nice surprise on Monday morning to see only a few of us there. I would recommend this to anyone to do. It was the best $300 I spent and would do it again.

Pros: Rose Petal, the atmosphere, the doll, the special birthday treatment
Cons: the food.....but we were just too busy enjoying ourselves to eat anything

This was the most amazing thing that I hae ever done for my daughter.
To make it special I had made an invitation to the tea party & signed it from Princess Aurora. I left it on my daughters bed when we left the resort that morning so she'd see it when we got back. I had also had a new Briar Rose dress made just for her. She thought that it came from Briar Rose.
My daughter was beaming from ear to ear as we approached the podium to sign in. I have to say that she was the most beautiful pricess there. We were really ucky to have a small group of only 6 princesses that day.
We had told them that we were celebrating my daughters birthday at the tea. Rose Petal made sure to spend plenty of time with her. She even asked my daughter to help the other girls learn the sign language for Princess Aurora's song. (She is now teaching it to everyone back home!!)
I am so glad that we went to the tea. It is an experince that I, nor my daughter, will ever forget.

Pros: Rose Petal...the princess parade...Everything!
Cons: It isn't cheap, folks!

Yes, it isn't cheap, but this is an amazing experience. Lots of character interaction. My daughter (3) loved it. She and her Nana have tea parties at home and this was a fantastic extension of that tradition. Rose Petal did a great job. They brought my daughter real tea, since that is what she drinks at home. She liked the food, actually. It was definitely a special event and not something we'd do every time, but well worth it for the experience.

Pros: EVERYTHING, so special, worth every penny
Cons: Food, but everyone is too excited to eat so who cares about the food

The most magical event at Disney. Yes, it is expensive, yes,the food is terrible, but the experience far surpasses anything else. We just grabbed something quick in our room to eat...no big deal. You will not be disappointed.

Pros: special "girls" event
Cons: food is underwhelming

On 2/22/09 I took my 5 year old granddaughter to the tea for her birthday and we had a lovely time.

Spoiler alert - I am including lots of detail in this review.

Check-in: Our tea was scheduled at 10:30. You can start signing in at 10:15, but no one enters until 10:30, so I don't think there is any advantage to showing up early. Each child is given a card with their name on it.
Start: They encourage all the little "Princesses" to gather around the entry for the official start of the party. They introduce Baron ?? who is the piano player, and then Rose Petal. Rose Petal welcomes the crowd and then, one at a time, each child hands over their card as they go up the 3 steps to enter the tea room. The child gets crowned by Rose Petal and gets real rose petals sprinkled over her head. The crown is a nice circlet beaded crown with fabric pink roses - but no clips to keep it in the hair. I wish I had brought two hair clips, because it just wouldn't stay on. Many of the little girls had obviously just visited the Bibidi Bodidi Boutique and already had a (nicer) Princess crown on, so they just put the new crown on top of that one. Once crowned, the Rose Petal and the girl turn and take a moment to pose for mom's to take photos, then that Princess and her family are shown to their seats.
When you get to your table, sitting at your little Princess's seat is a Princess Aurora doll. The doll is in the pink Sleeping Beauty princess dress. She has on crown very similar to the one they just placed on your Princesses head.
Seating: At our tea, no one was sitting along the outer edge of the room, so all the seats were good. Also, Rose Petal wanders the room during every song, so every child gets to see her without problems. The room is arranged around a center square where Rose Petal holds stage. All the little Princesses are placed in a seat facing the "stage" and mom's are seated facing away. We were very lucky and had a "front row" seat. There are 5 tables for two - where the little girls face the stage and the piano player and we were lucky enough to get one of those. Larger parties, (and I assume additional parties of two) are placed on the sides of the stage area. It's not a big thing, because Rose moves about and does not play to the 5 tables any more than any others. I think the only advantage is that nothing is between those 5 and Rose (except their mom/grandmom).

Rose starts off the tea - by telling the girls to take out their napkins and place the napkin on their lap - and then the girls discover the bracelet. (have your Princess carefully open the napkin so that the bracelet doesn't go flying.) Bracelet can be hooked on to any link, so you can make it fit your little girls wrist. It has one "crystal" heart hanging from the bracelet.

Rose tells a story of how she came alive (was a rose).

They serve your Princess her tea first - telling her that it tastes just like apple juice. They leave the pot on the table, but I poured the second cup because the pot is pretty heavy. Her tea consisted of grapes and ham and cheese triangles sandwiches and heart shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. (The minute I checked in, I asked if we could get ours without the jelly - and they were happy to do so - but indicated that it was a good thing I caught them in time.)
Next mom/grandmom gets her tea. Our tea is a mixed blend of three black teas (good) with egg salad, chicken salad, and shrimp salad sandwiches, three triangles of cheese, a couple crackers, and a scattering of fruit. I don't like onions and could not eat the sandwiches. But the grapes were good. Neither of us ate very much so I asked for a to-go box and they brought it right out.

Rose moves on to perform several songs. One is about Sleeping beauty and has hand motions for the children to learn. One included learning a bit of sign language (impossible for the really little ones, but the older ones enjoyed trying to learn that part.) Rose even gets the girls singing along with "Whistle while you work" (instead of whistling - they just sing "do do do do do do do") and humming along with "I'm wishing."

Finally, Sleeping Beauty arrives. The girls join her in the center and learn how to hold out their dress like a princess and to curtsy. Then the girls all follow Sleeping Beauty around the room (holding out their dress like a Princess). Which obviously works best if your little girl came in a dress. And, as far as what to wear for the event - the little girls in our group ran the gamut from elaborate Disney Princess gear to nice play wear. Most girls were in Disney princess dresses. My little Princess wore a very nice pink party dress and felt very special. (She'd outgrown her Cinderella costume and has apparently outgrown wanting another one!) We were dressed up like ladies for tea! (Most moms were dressed very casual - but I dressed up a bit to go along with our ladies going to tea theme.)

Then while Sleeping Beauty made the rounds, stopping to sit and chat with each child, they served dessert. I've read other reviews where they raved about the cake - and it was nice, but it was just a slice of vanilla cake with strawberry mousse filling, a bit of whipped cream, a cut strawberry and some strawberry sauce on the side. Good, but not great.

Sleeping Beauty sits with each child and gives the child a real rose (smelled lovely) and spends a few minutes talking to the child. One of her attendants takes photos (with your camera) - go ahead and get in one of the pictures too! She'll sign autographs too.

Rose finishes up with a song and a hug for each child on the way out the door. You might want to bring a tote bag - to carry the gear. You've got a doll, a wand, a rose, the dolls shoes (that will not stay on) the name tag etc.

Then, they have you all gather in the entry way for the parade. They lead the parade of little girls around the lobby of the Grand Floridian and all the employees wave to them. On the route, Disney photographers take pix. Then the go up the grand staircase for a few one-on-one photos of the girls in front of a pretty floral arrangement. The parade ends at the toy shop upstairs where each child gets to name her doll. They give her a birth certificate with your child's name and the dolls name. They also give them a bag with stickers and pages for scrap booking.

It was very nice and I'm happy we did it. It's quite expensive, so I would not do it a second time - but would recommend it to others for ages 5-7. I've read other negative reviews about the food - and have to agree that for the money its really pitiful. I can't quite figure out why Disney doesn't fix that, but otherwise a very lovely event.

Pros: Unique experience for your little princess
Cons: None

This is one of the most memorable events during our recent stay at WDW. We booked for 12/7. Rose Petal was great. My daughter (5) enjoyed every moment of this tea party. Granted, it could be pricey, but if you can afford it, make sure you book it. Some people complain about the food but I think it was good and an appropriate amount. Plus it's not about whether or not they stuff everyone with food. It's a princess tea party and you are paying for the unique experience. My daughter loved the doll she got. I saw the same doll with a different outfit at a store in the Grand Floridian and it costs $55.00, so when you add it all up, you realize the price is right. I would book this event again in the future.

Pros: Children love tea parties
Cons: very overpriced

I attended this Royal Tea Party with my mother and twin daughters who are 5 on Dec 5. I had wanted to book this tea party for a long time but I wanted to wait until I felt my girls would be at an age that they would somewhat appreciate it, especially considering the price for some tea.

We were lucky enough to be seated front and center for the party, and after reading previous reviews I understood that this was prime seating. When my girls saw the doll sitting there waiting for them, they were like "ho hum" because they already had it at home. They were excited about the bracelet though. Rose Petal has an excellent singing voice and my girls were enthralled listening to her sing and tell her story. And since we were seated right in front of her, my girls received most of her attention, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

The food for the adults was barely passable. I saw no one eating it. My girls ate a few bites of their food but they were too busy watching Rose Petal. They did love the little tea pots with juice in them, like I stated before, children love tea parties.

Sleeping Beauty came in half way thru the party and I felt she spent more time here than the one at Cinderella's Royal Table. She sat down and talked to the girls, signed books, took pictures, etc. But she actually had conservations with my girls and not just a passing hello. She had a little parade with them and then passed out roses at the end.

The parade through the lobby was kinda cute. Everyone, from visitors to hotel staff saying how beautiful the little girls were. Picking up the doll certificate in the gift shop was pushing the envelope to us. After spending $500 on a tea party, Disney wants us to spend even more money in their gift shop.

Would we attend this again? No way. Once was good, but this event did not stick out in my girls' memory when I asked them what they liked about our trip. Would I recommend it? Yeah, I guess, if your kids are into tea parties and you don't mind spending the money. But don't forget to eat before you go.

Pros: Fun for the little princess, Rose Petal was great.
Cons: the after party hoopla of trying to get photos.

Daughter (5) and I attended this party on October 27, 2008.
Rose Petal is a great story teller and sings bits and pieces of the songs we all know from the princess movies. She was vibrant and very entertaining to watch and listen to!
Daughter enjoyed her Princess Aurora doll, wand, and crown and the suprise!

The food was tasty, even though I didn't eat a couple of the sandwiches due to the onions. Cake was delicious! Daughter liked her PB&J and Ham & Cheese sandwiches.

Princess Aurora makes an appearance and I thought the amount of time she spent was perfect. She signed autographs, did a bit of entertaining, and did the photo opts.

The pianist was very good too! He even came around to sign autographs.

By the time the party itself was over, I was ready to go, but no, that is not the end of this excursion. The princesses are to prominade around the lobby, then form another line to get photos done by a photographer, then we are directed up another staircase to the gift store to get those photos (and spend more money)and birth certificate for the doll. This took another 40 minutes and by then I was getting irratated. Listening to a bunch of whining children wanting toys in the gift store while in line sent me over the edge and took away from the actual party experience. Needless to say, I didn't purchase the extra photos due to the only back drop was a planter. So basically, we stood in line for a piece of paper naming the doll.

Overall, the party was fun and my daughter had a good time. I don't think we will do this again as the experience wasn't something that stuck out in Daughters mind as a favorite experince, but I am glad we did it all the same.

Pros: Wonderful priceless moments w/ your special princess!
Cons: pricey and limited time w/ Aurora

If you are looking for priceless moments with your young daughter- this is the event! Suggested age 3-9. This is done very much to a child's scale-This is not a formal traditional tea for adults. Remember this is for your daughter so if she likes to play tea party at home this is perfect for her.
It was held at the lovely Grand Foridian Garden View Glass enclosure. We took the boat over to the Resort which was a special treat. We cordinated Pirate Cruises for the other two children and me and my little one enjoyed a lovely tea together. She enjoyed being dressed as Aurora and I dressed all in pink and true to tradition wore a big pink hat for the tea. We were greeted by other little princesses and moms as we anxously awaited all the "princesses" to be called by name. They meet the hostess Rose Petal who crowns each girl with a tiara and sprinkles her head with rose petals. We are entertained by stories and song. Mr. Baron(the pianist) was truly delightful by filling your ears with all your farmiliar Disney tunes from all your favorites. I couldn't help but humm along even later that day.
The wait staff is numerous and the time flies fast- as all Disney events- so enjoy it and your princess while you can. Attention is paid to each girl by Rose Petal. The girls pour out their own tea. They have wonderful heart shaped pbj sandwiches as well as ham n cheese sandwiches to munch on. She ate a few grapes but tasted a tart blueberry and stopped eating. She loved the curtsey lesson and played with her doll.
Children will be children so at some point we did have a child next to us who was younger and kinda fussy & crying, Rose Petal tries to play to her but with a little quick thinking and patience we offered her a special rinestone ring my daughter had in her purse ,in exchange for the tears- it worked and she settled down for the rest of the performance. The cake was awesome very light and sweet. My daughter only ate one bite but ate all the fresh whipped cream from both our plates.
Aurora was patient and attentive to each girl individually. She took pictures and signed autograph books. Each girl was presented by her a fresh cut rose (My husband claims he saw them being cut while we were arriving). My daughter loved the sweet smell and I have had it pressed for keeping. After all is over they parade the lobby and head to the Gift shop to name thier dolls and recieve Birth Certificates for thier dolls. My daughter was singing the " Cruella DeVille song" so yep you guessed it the lovely blonde headed princess doll is named Cruella. How memorable is that. Take lots of photos because the photographer took pictures and didn't give me a photopass card. So
You will recieve a Disney doll in Aurora costume(additional costumes @$25.00), charm braclet( additional charms 3.95/piece in Gift shop upstairs) , Scrapbook kit, Tea for two, Tiara, fresh rose and time with Princess Aurora. Entertainment from Rose Petal and Mr. Baron. It was truly a day to remember in my heart forever!!
Felt like crowns could have been Disney Aurora and a photo could have been given as part of the package. But all in all worth it for priceless memories!!

Pros: My daughters loved getting dressed up
Cons: Food choices could be better. Expensive

I took my mother-in-law and two daughters 4 and 7 on December 14th. We enjoyed the Tea party very much. The girls felt very special in the Grand Floridian dressed up as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. They loved the dolls and bracelets they received. Princess Aurora is only present the last few minutes of the party. I think for the price she could be there longer. I would recommend attending the tea party once. I do not believe I would ever do it again though. My daughters loved pouring their tea. They felt grown up and it was fun sharing the tea party with them. I would recommend this for girls between age 4-8. Do not think older girls would enjoy this. It was a fun afternoon.

Pros: Everything
Cons: nothing

My 4 year old daughter and I attended on Sunday, Dec. 9. We had a lovely time. Was worried after reading some bad reviews. Rose Petal was lovely and very talented. SHe was very attentive to each child. Aurora spent a few minutes with each girl, gave them a rose. My daughter smiled ear to ear for days. We loved every minute of it. Oh, Baron Branch is great also. This is something my daughter won't soon forget, nor will I.

Pros: Rose Petal, special attention to each child, CAKE
Cons: NONE

I took my 5-year-old daughter here on 11/28/07, and it was the best experience of the week! My daughter and I both loved every minute of it! Rose Petal is great and very talented. She introduced each child and placed a crown on the child's head. The room was beautiful and so elegant. Rose Petal was very entertaining as she told (actually acted out) the stories of how she evolved and the story of Sleeping Beauty. She has a great voice and is wonderful with both children and parents. She took time to single all of the children out and visited each table for pictures. My daughter asked her about the cake, so Rose Petal took her by the hand and led her to the cake so that she could see it. Then later when it came time to cut the cake, she made a special point to singled my daughter out as wanting some. My daughter smiled the whole time! The food was some of the best I had the whole week. My daughter loved having her own tea pot of apple juice. She has an egg alergy which I forgot to mention when I made the reservation, but once I realized that the ham and cheese sandwiches had mayo on them, the wait staff were quick to fix the situation. My food was excellent. I had read the description of the food, and it was as descriped. The cheeses were excellent! Being Southern, I am not much of a hot tea drinker, but the tea was fine. I was enjoying the show and attention to my daughter, that the food and tea really did not matter to me. However, the cake was the best cake I have ever eaten! Although Sleeping Beauty was not there long ( I would say around 20-25 minutes), she was very nice and attentive to the children. The children were led by Sleeping Beauty in a parade around the room. Sleeping Beauty gave each child a rose as she took time to visit with each child and parent. The children each received several gifts, including a crown, doll, braclet, and scrapbook packet. This was a great mother-daughter experience and worth every dime I paid.

Pros: Unique setting
Cons: Overpriced, poor food quality and service, minimal time with Auroroa

I attended the Princess Tea Party Sept. '07 with my mother (60 yr), daughter (3 yr), niece (1 yr) and sisters (35 and 29). Everything started off fine in that we were all greeted by Rose Petal and enjoyed piana music from the Baron. My 3 yr. old sat down and right away fell in love with her new doll. But after that, things fell downhill. The food that was presented to us was not high quality - we had 3 different types of stale tea sandwiches, some hard cheese and a bunch of grapes. My daughter was given PB&J sandwiches and apple juice. (My mother and sisters and I frequent teas so we are used to scrumptious sandwiches, tasty scones, lemon curd, devonshire cream, plump strawberries and a choice of teas.) So when this plate of "unappetizing" food was presented to us, we shrugged it off because we figured the round of pastries and scones would make up it. We were WRONG. That plate was all we got plus a piece of sheet cake that was hastily plopped onto a plate. As for the tea portion, there was no choice and we had to ask for cream and lemon. As for Princess Aurora, she was lovely and friendly, but seemed to magically disappear after 15 minutes. Then when Aurora left, we were ushered out before the 1.5 hour event was completed. So overall, when considering the poor food, rushed service and minute entertainment, I would not recommend this for the price that is charged. I paid over $470 dollars for all of us and honestly felt ripped off. I would highly recommend the Hoop Dee Doo Review or a Character Breakfast over this tea anyday! With those other dining experiences you get much better food with some time with the characters without busting your budget. Unless you've got money to spare, there are many other Disney Dining Options that will satisfy your kids desire to see their favorite characters while you enjoy a decent meal and not spend a small fortune!

Pros: Rose Petal! She is Wonderful!!
Cons: None

My daughter(10) and I attended this event on Sept. 17. She totally enjoyed the entire event! Rose Petal greeted her at the door and she was announced just like royalty. We were then seated at a lovely table with her doll (she named Rose). Rose Petal then went about announcing the other girls and soon began telling her story. She then went around to each table and signed autographs and chatted with each girl. As the morning progressed, Rose Petal sang songs and told another story and Brittany was asked to help show the motions to the song they were going to sing when Princess Aurora arrived. Then, Princess Aurora came out and they had a princess parade. Brittany was the first behind Aurora and felt very special indeed. Later in the week, Brittany met Aurora again and Aurora remembered her and asked how she liked the tea and even remebered that Brittany had led the parade! My little princess has continually thanked me since we walked into the garden for the tea. I highly recommmend it for any age! Remember, this is not just an Aurora event. Aurora is only there for about 15 minutes of the party/singing and then for signing autographs at each child's table. But, she does take time with each child as does Rose Petal. It was a truly magical morning! One my Princess and I will remember for a lifetime!!

Pros: EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!
Cons:

I would rate this this experience a 15. You will never forget the memories from this experience. Rose Petal has the most beautiful voice and she interacts with every single little girl/boy in the room. Rose petal/Aurora and even the waitresses made a point to even address every parent. The dolls are beautiful, the bracelet wonderful, the scrapbooking pages will get good use. The food not bad you need to like cheese and crackers and fancy little finger sandwiches. The cake all I can say is YUMMY!!!!!! This is experience is worth every penny you won't regret, I know I don't.
