Pros: service, food
Cons: none

We dined here 2/13/12 for my birthday dinner. Both DH and I had the filet, which was cooked perfectly and fork tender. We also had lobster bisque, cobb salad, and grapefruit cake and everything was beautifully presented and delicious. Our server was Moses, and he was wonderfully attentive. This was a delightful experience that I hope to repeat!

Pros: Great Food; Nice atmosphere; Wonderful service
Cons: Pricey

My husband and I ate here for our wedding anniversary. When I made the reservation I let them know the occasion. After our meal, the waitress brought us champagne and strawberries, and a delicious chocolate dessert on the house. The food was great, but expensive. This is a fun place to celebrate a special occasion.

Pros: food, service
Cons: prices

We both had excellent filets here in December, and the service was very good, too. Unfortunately, the dinner menu prices have escalated; the higher prices are out of line for a theme-park setting. For the money, we would rather eat at a resort signature restaurant. The atmosphere at Flying Fish, Narcoosee's, Artist Point, etc., is more relaxing and more befitting of the price point.

If we must eat at Hollywood Studios, this is the best choice. But if at all possible, in the future we'll leave the park for our meals.

Pros: Wonderful food, nice atmosphere
Cons: Price of entrees, appetizers are a little small

My husband and I had an ADR on December 9 that we were able to snag that morning for lunch. We arrived just a couple of minutes early and only waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated. It was pretty warm, so it was so nice to sit down and have a big glass of water. Our waiter was very good and we never felt rushed or that we had to wait very long for anything. We split the cobb salad and the crab spring rolls. We also had really good rolls and butter, so it was a wonderful light lunch, the perfect amount of food to finish off a long day in the parks. This was our favorite meal over our long weekend. I would like to try an entree next time, but the only thing that would cause me to hesitate was the price. Splitting the salad and appetizer made for an affordable experience here. We will definitely eat here again!

Pros: Ambience, service, quality
Cons: Price and noise

I vacillated over making this reservation, and was glad I did. At 1:30, after 5 hours of touring and standing in lines, it was wonderful to sit in a beautiful setting and have Tarik wait on us. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, adequate portion size and served with a smile. I had the appetizer Midnight Moon Prosciutto cake-luscious! The olives and onions complemented it perfectly, and the rosettes of tete de moine cheese made it over the top. A glass of a nice sauvignon blanc put me in lunch nirvana.
My daughter was happy with tempura fish-nice to have a real food children's item-and my husband enjoyed the famous cobb salad. It is a chopped salad by tradition, and the flavors blend beautifully. He was thrilled to have a Stella on draft. We shared the Chocolate Three Ways Torte for dessert-yummy.
Only downside was the noise of ill-behaved children, but that's what you have to expect at a theme park.
It's an oasis in the desert at Hollywood Studios from a culinary standpoint.

Pros: Good food and atmosphere
Cons: Over the top expensive; slow service

We ate here on Monday, Dec, 5 2011. The atmostphere is beautiful. The food is tasty, but extremely expensive for a theme park. Entrees run in the 20s and into the 30s per person. Lunch for four adults with one alcoholic drink per person, four entrees and four desserts was $250.00 with tax and tip.
It was also SLOW. It took almost 2 hours for lunch. That's a long time for a theme park. However, due to the priciness and slowness, we were able to escape the hordes of cheerleaders in the park that day.

Pros: Chocolate there ways
Cons: Wait

I ate here on 12/9/11. I have eaten at this restaurant several times, but this was by far the worst experience. My wife and I had reservations at 5:50. By the time 6:20, we had still not been seated. I inquired about the wait and was told that the dining room is equipped for bigger parties and that is how it is set up for the night. As I stood there a group of seven came in and asked about a wait If they had no reservations, the greeter said they were in luck and took them right in! Finally after another ten minutes we were seated. Then our meal lasted literally thirty minutes. Our appetizer was just put down on the table and our entree was delivered. I just cut into my steak when the server came with the dessert menu. We were completely rushed through the meal. This was a complaint of every party of two in the area. I was so disappointed that I will not be eating there again.

Pros: Fun Themed Restaurant
Cons: Noisy

Today my Aunt Barbara came down to spend the day with me. On my first day off in what seemed like eternity (8 days) we had a full day of necessary business to take care of such as grocery shopping, running very important errands (which is really code for shopping for a pair of chocolate colored boots) and a doctor appointment.

After finally finishing up with our errands at 4:45 we decided to head over to Disney's Hollywood Studios to see the The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, an absolute must see. The streets of America in Disney's Hollywood Studios have been transformed to create a one of a kind holiday experience complete with buildings which are completely covered with brightly lit colorful lights which are perfectly synchronized to classic holiday music.

The mixture of popular Christmas melodies, the all to real snow flurries which seamlessly fell from the sky and gently settled on the tip of my nose, combined with the rich aroma of hot chocolate made it seem as though we had been transported to a lifetime Christmas special. Suddenly the holiday spirit was upon us, and simply mesmerized by everything happening around us we took it all in.

After working up an appetite during our amazing walk through of the brightly lit Christmas themed Streets of America we decided to grab dinner at the Hollywood Brown Derby. The restaurant was created to replicate the famous Tinseltown hot spot, a favorite amongst Old Hollywood.

Upon entering the restaurant we are lead to an airy open dining room, where we comfortably sit in a rounded booth with a rich burgundy leather upholstery.

Black and white celebrity caricatures decorate the restaurant walls. The servers have also been outfitted to coincide with the restaurant theme. Each server wears a simple white suit vest with a black lapel and black slacks which adds to our old Hollywood inspired dining experience.

I ordered the vegetarian entree, An Asian inspired noodle bowl (a dish which happens to also be vegan without alterations). My carefully concocted entree included soy beans, crisp sugar snap beans, boy choy, and delicious al dente noodles tossed in a mild red curry broth and topped with a piece of wok fried coconut crusted tofu.

I was a bit apprehensive about trying the tofu, as I admit I am not wild about tofu ( I know it seems like a total oxymoron to be a tofu hating vegan). I am not totally agaisn't tofu, however I do enjoy it a lot more when it is somehow disguised such as when used as a thickening agent in baking or made into a creamy ice cream.

However, this tofu was actually quite delicious the sweet coconut crusted exterior added immense flavor while beneath the delicious coating was a creamy soft tofu that tasted delicious especially once submerged in the flavorful curry broth.

This was a delicious meal, the crisp vegetables combined with the sweet coconut crusted tofu and mild but flavorful red curry broth made for an interesting combination of flavors which nicely accented one another.

My Aunt ordered the Coriander-dusted Grouper which was accompanied by purple Cauliflower and served over a bed of creamy Risotto and topped with fresh English Peas, crunchy Sunchokes, and a Yellow Tomato Coulis. She marveled at the delicious mild fish entree and showed her total satisfaction by wiping her plate clean

Then it was onto dessert (we specifically avoided appetizers so we could save room for dessert)!

I ordered the creamy vanilla tofutti topped with a selection of season berries. Although this has become the common vegan staple dessert served by most restaurants at Disney I can't seem to get enough of this simple yet delicious dessert!

My Aunt ordered the delicious warm Season Fruit Cobbler topped with a Crème Fraîche and Orange Blossom Honey.

Full but happy we left quite please without our meal at The Derby!

Hollywood Brown Derby is a signature restaurant open for lunch and dinner service. Definitely a great place to dine to complete your authentic Hollywood themed experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

Pros: Food, Service, Ambience
Cons: NA

I was a single traveler for the first time at Disney, and opted to have a nice meal at the Brown Derby on November 21, 2011.

What a great meal! My reservation was for 3:15. I arrived early and checked in at 2:50. At 3:00 I was called and seated at my table.

I was place on a two top, with a great view of the main dining room. My waiter was wonderful (wish I could remember his name). He did not rush me at all. I spent an hour enjoying my whole meal. He was helpful with suggestions and was never intrusive during my meal.

I would not tell people with children looking for a quick meal to dine here. I live in New Orleans, and we love our leisurely meals! This place was perfect for a non-rushed meal!

I had the lobster bisque and the grilled salmon. It was wonderful. I work for a New Orleans Restauranteur and can be picky about how food is prepared.

All in all, a great experience and will surely be back.

Pros: Being able to sit down
Cons: Everything

This restaurant was the most horrible experience I ever experienced. We had horrible service in the past at other restaurants but this was the most horrible dinner ever.

Our reservation was for 4:15pm so i decided to walk over at 4:00pm. There was already loads of people in for 4pm and 4:15. Lets just say we didn't get seated until 5pm. People who walked in AFTER us were seated before us!

anyway, we get seated and had the worst waiter. He watched us eat, which was creepy. He watched us eat and finish but yet he didn't come over with the check. He went to the bigger table families because more family, more tip. Dessert was just horrible to the point of disgusting. We finished eating at 5:40pm didn't get the check till 6pm and even then, no waiter, so we just got up to see if we could pay in the front. "Nope"

We had to wait for our waiter who slammed down the check. We did NOT leave a tip and will not be going back. We were so upset because we got treated worse then scum and wasted a Table Service.

I would highly suggest NOT wasting your time there.

Pros: Food, service, ambiance
Cons: None

The Brown Derby has been a wonderful family tradition for us for years, and this year was no exception. Came here for dinner on 11/17/11 and could not have been happier. Let me note that we didn't have any kids with us, and the length of the meal - yes, it can take nearly two hours - is part of what makes the experience so special. The tofu noodle bowl (vegan) was the best thing I've eaten in a long time, and my Mom's filet was reportedly "fantastic." Stanley, our server, went out of his way to make our night perfect. We will keep coming back for years to come.

Pros: Our waiter, Remy, was wonderful!
Cons: Nervous moments waiting for our table!

We had a Park-hopper pass and did the Animal Kingdom in the morning and DHS later because they had Extra Magic hours the same day. On a whim, my sister decided to call and make reservations at the Brown Derby as we were leaving AK. It was 4:15 p.m. and they had a reservation at 5:55 p.m. that they would let us have if we got a.s.a.p.! We did and when we checked in they said that they were back-logged and they were one hour behind! We were determined to eat there so we sat outside and crossed our fingers! At 6:00 p.m. we were called and seated! So it paid to wait!

I wanted to have the full retro experience and ordered a whiskey sour. My sister and I split the Cobb salad as a appetizer (which was wonderful and would spoil your desire to have what passes as a Cobb salad in the outside world!), she then ordered the pork chop for dinner and I got the duck, I was wearing my Disney birthday button and Remy brought out a chocolate mousse cake with a candle for dessert for me(my sister ordered the grapefruit cake) and two glasses of champagne for my sister and I to toast!

Afterwards, we joined the horde for the Fantasmic show! What a great birthday!

Pros: Decent Food
Cons: Slow Service (on purpose)

We ate at the Brown Derby on 10/10/11 for Dinner. This was our first dinner of the trip. Now we had my wife and I, our two kids (Girl 5, Boy 7), and my folks (Grandparents). The food was fine, but nothing too incredible. The service was just very slow. We were seated almost immediately, and still the entire meal took about 1.75 hours to complete. This was way too long of a waiting time for our kids, and I did take them outside a few times to walk around the "Big Hat" area, just to break up the time. My family will not dine here again on future visits.

Pros: good food
Cons: wait

I wish I could rave about this dinner... but I simply can't.

First and foremost, I need to say that our server, Joshua, was NOT the problem. He was fine.

Our issue started with arriving at 4:40pm for our 5:10pm ADR. The host told us to come back at 5 because he couldn't check us in until then. We arrived at 5 and waited in line for 5 minutes to check in. When I checked us in I was told the were "about 20 to 30 minutes behind" on ADR's. Well, that wasn't too bad... we were figuring we'd be sat around 5:30 or so. At 6pm, we were still waiting and when I checked on it, I was told it could be another 20 to 30 minutes. At least one family abandoned their ADR's to be sure they could see the first Fantasmic show.

We were finally sat at 6:12pm. Our appetizer and entree order was taken and appetizers were delivered at 6:35. The soup my husband got was good. I got the cobb and I loved it. If you like salad, give it a try. Our Entrees arrived at 7:11. (I personally feel there was an expo issue as there were other tables around us either getting entrees as they were finishing appetizers, or were waiting forever for entrees.) We got the Short ribs and the filet and both were very good. A table across from us had earlier reservations than us and got seated at the same time we did. The table next to us had to take their desserts 'to go' because they had the fantasmic package and had to leave to get to the show. Our deserts were ok.

As I said, the server was fine. Our issue lies with the backlog of ADR's and the excessive wait time. We were talking with another group who said that everytime they've tried to eat here it's the same issue and this was their last attempt.

If it didn't cost 2 credits and we had to wait, or if we were seated in a more reasonable timeframe, I might recommend it, but as it stands we won't be going back.

Oh yeah, we were sat at 6:12, but we didn't get out of there until 8:10pm. Not cool.

Pros: Food, Food, Food
Cons: Dress of patrons

Wow! Our family of 5 had a reservation for Dinner on Sept. 24. We were a little apprehensive about bringing our child here as well as using 2 dinner points from the DDP. However, everything soon exceeded out expectations. Our server TT was timely and explained that even though this was a 2 point meat, we we entitled to an appetizer, entree and dessert for each of us. The food was excellent. TT even arranged for having my two teenage daughters salads and entrees altered just a bit to included only items they liked. The crab cakes were awesome and our filets were prepared beyond reproach.

We had one of the half circle booths in the back so we could see everything going on and soak up
the decor.

The dress of patrons was just a tad disappointing for what we thought was a upscale restaurant; live and learn here.

Highly recommend this restaurant for all ages.
