I cannot understand how this restaurant gets such low reviews. We had eaten here before several years ago and liked it. We were hungry and didn't feel like waiting half an hour at Prime Time so we ate here. Waitress was somewhat slow but friendly. Food was really excellent. Desserts are the best we had our whole trip. Chef made me a "create your own" pasta that was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had - and my family owned an Italian restaurant for 63 years. Highly recommend and we will return.

We had never eaten here before, so this trip (Dec, 2012), we wanted to try it as a Fantasmic! reserved seating meal.
Got in pretty quickly, and were seated all together (6 adults - no kids). Buffet had lots of variety, and some items were good enough to go back for seconds! Staff was friendly food was good.
We'll go there again!

Had dinner here on 12/27 before enjoying the Osborne Spectacle of Lights. I had tried to get reservation here the day before (fully knowing I wouldn't be able to) so we decided to walk up and try our luck. Around 5:30pm we walked up to the check-in desk and were told it would be a 25 minute wait which we didn't think was too bad. Turned out it was a 5 minute wait. The staff was talkative and very friendly. Our waitress was attentive. The food selection was our favorite out of the three total buffets we had during the week (including Boma). Maybe we just got lucky but I would definitely go here again.

Lines, no Christmas Buffet
|
|
We made reservations here for Christmas Day under Fantasmic! Dining.
We arrived about 20 minutes prior to our 3:35 ADR. They were still accepting walk-ins, which made the line-up ridiculously huge. We made it to check-in just before our reservation time, just to have someone complain that they weren't seated yet. The hostess explained he did not have a reservation, and they seat reservations first and walk-ins second. He thought checking in meant he had a reservation, so we had to stand there for five minutes waiting for them to sort things out.
We checked in and waited about 10 minutes to be seated.
We were a bit disappointed with the food selection. We had been told that they had a Christmas buffet. The only evidence of this it seemed was the stuffing.
I'm a picky eater, so the selections for me were quite limited. I tried the udon noodle salad, just because I remembered liking udon noodles before at Teppan Edo. It was just okay.
I had finally hit the mother load when I discovered the pasta station, where a chef would custom-make a plate of pasta for you. I ended up with just pasta in pesto sauce, but I threw my marinated mozzarella balls in with it. I liked it so much I got back in the ridiculously long line just to get a second plate.
This brings me to my next subject: The lines. There was a long line-up for everything. Check-In, the buffet itself, the dessert table, the washrooms, you name it!
Overall, the best part of eating here was that we got to see Fantasmic on Christmas Day. Next time, we're trying off-peak season and Brown Derby.

Horrible food & service
|
|
By far the worst meal of our stay. Our waitress was slow and never available. Our dirty dishes stacked up on the table. Our beverages went unreplenished. The food was either too salty or too sweet (even the creamed corn spoonbread!). The cuts of meat were fatty and grisly and poorly seasoned. The only positive aspect is the great location. There are far better buffets elsewhere.

I have seen come complaints on this place about the food, so I was very nervous, but we ate here on the Fantasmic Dinner Plan. We were very pleasantly surprised. If you eat here you have got to try the pasta bar where they make you personalized pasta with ingredients that you choose. It was the best pasta that I think I have ever had! The food choices were good and we did not eat anything that we did not like. I thought the desert choices were a bit slim though.

Food was terrible!!!!

We have used the Fantasmic Dining Plan multiple times. Last year we noticed it was not as good as previously. This year, much much worse! Most of the dishes that were not fish (don't eat fish) were almost empty and tasted old. Felt the choices were so limited. Doubt this will be a pick for us in the future.

Typical Buffet Food
|
|
We at here on August 13th as a way to avoid the Fantasmic line using the Fantasmic Dining Package. The food was typical buffet style. Nothing outstanding and nothing really poor. There was a decent selection; however, for our teens who can be pickey we did not get our moneys worth on the food end of it. The real advantage of H&V is the Fantasmic Package. This allows you to skip the huge wait to get into the theater and enter by a side entrance. We used our pass to get in and then once in switched over sections closer to the middle with no problems. We did this about 30 minutes before the show and avoided the long line and stampeed to the seats, plus had extra time not having to worry about seats. This alone made up for an over priced buffet. $38.95 is steep for the food choices that were there but the savings waiting were worth it on a hot day.

A little pricey

We were on the Fantasmic dinner package, and had eaten at the other 2 options so we decided to try H&V. Pleasantly surprised, especially after some of the reviews I had read.
We went here on our first night in WDW, so after traveling and all we were exhausted and decided to try to get in early. We showed up almost 40 minutes before our reservation, and the place was PACKED! We figured we may as well grab a drink next door while we waited but to our surprise we were seated within 10 minutes!
The selection was quite good, even for a picky eater like myself, and our server was wonderful. She was attentive and personable, despite how busy she was.
I loved the prime rib and pasta and the others in my party had great things to say about all of their selections as well. The dessert was excellent!
I do think the price was a little on the high side, however I did eat enough prime rib to get my money's worth

Not sure we would choose this location again. I would recommend it tentatively. It was very crowded and loud. Server was nice and did her best to make us welcome. Long lines, very busy, food was okay. Some items better than others.
I did like how they had a children's section - but it was not labeled well and difficult to find.

Like many other Disney buffets, this is well done but still a buffet. Salads were very good. Carved prime rib of beef was exellent. Seafood pasta had large chunks of shellfish (lobster?) and was also a highlight. I think DD15 had 4 plates of that alone. Desserts have the typical cakes, cookies and soft serve ice cream. It was a very hot day and we were happy to get out of the sun and enjoy the break. Server was outstanding. He stayed on top of our drinks and took away plates promptly. In the end, you can't beat the meal plus the opportunity to get priority seating at Fantasmic (a must do!).

I was hesitant about making reservations due to the low reviews but I wanted to link the dinner to the Fantasmic show and so we kept the reservations.
We were on the dining plan and seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. The waiter we had was excellent. The food was great and there was a big selection to choose from. The atmosphere is fun and my whole family of 4 enjoyed it. We had no wait for the Fantasmic show and it was well worth it.

I loved this place. Outstanding selection and very good food. The pasta "Bar" was fabulous with your made to order pastas. And the desert was very tasteful. My wife and daughter couldn't leave the Red Velvet Cake alone. We opted for the Fantasmic Dining Plan which added $32 to the bill. I would recommend this if you want to go to Fantasmic, but don't want to stand or waste an hour and a half waiting just to get a seat. We had our supper at 7 and walked over to Fantasmic around 8:35 or so and were ushered right in and sat down. Well worth the little extra to maximize our time at the parks.
We arrived approx. 5 minutes prior to our reservation, and were seated at the exact time we had reserved.
All in all, great buffet, excellent taste but a little pricey. I believed we paid around $130 plus the extra $32 for the Fantasmic package.

They need more characters added, like Doc McStuffins at least one of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse crew.

For too long, I have heard so much negative about this dining experience, but now that I have a Disney Junior addicted 2 year old on my hands, I knew that if there was a "first character meal" that this would be the best chance to do one to sort of teach her the ropes on how these work. I was very pleasantly surprised about how well the entire meal went. We were booked for lunch at 12:30 PM and the place was comfortably busy, but not packed. We had a table right along the walkways near the buffet in the area that was front and center for the character song and dance shows that happen sporadically throughout your meal. Being that the little one loves to dance, this was the best possible scenario ever. During the course of our meal, each of the 4 characters came through and got hugs, high fives, fist bumps, kisses on the nose and general goofy playtime with the little one at least 3 times, outside of the song and dance showss. She loved every minute of it. She ate a whole 5 bites of food, which isn't much, but she's 2 and that's fine. For almost 2 hours, she was completely entertained and felt like she was a part of the show. Completely worth every penny and then some. The food was all hot, fresh and tasty. There was a good variety of entrees, pastas, veggies, and salad fixins. We were all too stuffed to try dessert. I would totally do this again. While it was not food that makes you want to go back again because any one particular item is cravable, it was good food and I don't understand why the average person looking for some really good buffet food would feel like they did not get their money's worth. It was good. The service was excellent. Our waitress kept our glasses filled and was attentive to any needs we had. I realize that the characters that are there will typically only appeal to a small age range of children, but if you have a Disney Junior fan in your house, please do consider booking this meal. It was so much fun and created priceless memories for our family.

Made a reservation with this restaurant for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. Very disappointed. Food is nothing special, we were not "checked in" upon arrival and nothing special was done or noted for the birthday we were celebrating. The lack of recognizing the birthday celebration was the most disappointing of all. Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom does it so much better!!!
