Having been on the fantastic tour two years ago I was looking forward to learning more Disney facts. The tour was not as phenomenal, rather a bit disappointing. James, our guide, was quite knowledgeable with Disney and Magic Kingdom facts. James was very professional and requested everyone to ask as many questions as possible. At times I asked questions or pointed out attractions so James could explain further. At times we felt rushed and quickly moved to the next stop. Some answers were not factual as learned on previous tours or found on a Disney website. The tour consisted of Main Street, Liberty Square, Frontierland, Adventureland, and the infamous utiladors. Lunch at Columbia House was good.
Best learned fact: Disney has 4 worldwide work philosophies...SAFETY, SHOW, EFFICIENCY, AND COURTESY. I visited Disneyland in California the following week and was quite surprised hearing those philosophies from 2 cast members!
I highly recommend this tour. There is so much to learn about Disney World and the best way is to take a behind the scene tour.

All cast members (including leads!) need to be more informed during special events. We had 7:30 PM tickets to the Candlelight Processional 12/13 to see Dick Van Dyke. Cast members did not know when and where guests could begin waiting in line for the 7:30 performance. We were told to go outside Disneyland to a ticket booth to obtain a wrist band for the Candlelight admission. After waiting in line at the ticket booth we found it was not necessary. We had to wait to re-enter the park and find the appropriate line. Not one cast member said they would find the answer to our questions until we requested to speak to a lead. The lead gave us the wrong information and directed us to the wrong line. We finally found the line (thanks to other guests!) and enjoyed an awesome performance.

We just returned from WDW's Candlelight Processional with Andy Garcia, Blair Underwood and James Denton and there were no problems! All WDW cast members were quite informed, very helpful and courteous. Disneyland cast members need to learn from WDW cast members about courtesy, show and efficiency.

We have stayed at the Grand California over 15 times and have usually enjoyed the entire time. This time the experience was not very good.

Problem #1 Cast members at Registration told us Early Morning Admission was for Disneyland Resort guests only. The truth is other hotels like the Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton participate in Early Morning admission. The Early Morning Admission line began at the hotel's CA Adventure admission area that went by the pool, through the lobby and out the front door...over 500 people! (It is faster to enter CA Adventure at the the Main Gate!)

Problem #2 We were told at check-in park admission tickets may be purchased anytime at the hotel. We tried at 7:15 AM at Hotel Registration but the Disney computers were down! This was the second visit to this hotel in 2 months when Disney computers were down so I doubt it was the computers. In the future admission tickets will be purchased during operating hours.

Problem #3. My husband had a severe allergic reaction to nuts...thanks to the cast member candy maker who forgot to drizzle the nut pretzel stick. We started to enjoy our goodies in our hotel room and he became very sick. Within minutes a wonderful nurse and security arrived to administer first aide. The next day we returned the partially eaten pretzel stick with nuts and received no apology at Marcelines. The problem was escalated to a young Disney cast member manager who seemed to bored. Indeed we do understand nuts can be in the area during preparation of candies. However, when a nut pretzel stick does not have the drizzle the blame is on the cast member, not guest.

The hotel room was very quiet. The beds were very comfortable and it was easy to sleep. The bathroom mirror was dirty and the bathroom light bulb did not work. A call to maintenance fixed the problem that afternoon.

Disneyland continues to decline because cast members on all levels fail to understand customer satisfaction and Walt's dream. Upper management challenge is to rebuild Walt's dream again.

Would I come back to the Grand California Hotel? Of course! I plan to return during the Christmas holidays. I love Disney.

First time visit since the remodeling of this restaurant. There is plenty of comfortable sitting inside and outside. We were very surprised the menu had changed...smaller portions and beverage glasses. No more French Toast! The All American breakfast was a disappointment, actually terrible. Our waiter, Ken and Oscar, the executive chef, quickly brought the kitchen chef to the table to listen to the problem. After a sincere apology I received another type of eggs which were hot and good. We were very impressed that Oscar came to our table three times to talk about our meal and talk about his impressive 56 years of Disneyland service. I doubt if I will return to this restaurant.

Making reservations were no problem, very easy! We arrived 15 minutes and were one of the first guests to be seated. We informed our waiter, Paul, were were in no hurry to eat so please do not make us rushed. We enjoyed some excellent drinks and delicious appetizers. We were not finished with our appetizers when the main entrees arrived! We requested the food to be returned to the kitchen. Paul quickly came over to explain that the kitchen staff was on a timer to bring out dishes but as soon as we were ready he would bring out our hot dishes. There was a variety of fantastic yummy delicious desserts. We always enjoyed this restaurant and can't wait to return.
