More Fun with Disneyland Resort Characters and Hidden Mickeys

Ron W. wrote me about an interesting Hidden Mickey image in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in the Grizzly Peak section of California Adventure. Climb up stairs to the Mt. Whitney Lookout and check out the phonetic spelling alphabet (also known as the NATO phonetic alphabet and more accurately as the International Radiotelephony Spelling Alphabet) on a sheet of paper atop a table in the Lookout room. The word for “M” in the official phonetic spelling alphabet is “Mike.” But this is Disney! So the word for “M” is, you guessed it, Mickey! (I think “Mickey” would work just as well).

Vickie and I enjoy Fantasyland whenever we visit Disneyland, California. Here we can reconnect with Mr. Toad, since he no longer has his own attraction at Walt Disney World. Mr. Toad greets you along the inside entrance queue to Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

I like to pay my respects to the tiny red Hidden Mickey in Mr. Toad’s right eye.

I finally got a decent photo of the shadow of Sherlock Holmes in an upper window of the Constabulary building along Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. Find him to your left midway through the ride after you leave Winky’s Pub.

Vickie and I met up with a huge number of fun-loving Disney characters during our excellent breakfast at the Plaza Inn Restaurant. Here’s Rafiki goofing around:

I told Max that my favorite Disney character was his father Goofy, and one of my favorite Disney movies is “A Goofy Movie,” in which Max comes into his own as a serious Disney actor! Max was all smiles:

Steve Barrett is a doctor and Disney nut whose favorite Walt Disney World memory is strolling through the Magic Kingdom with his young son on his shoulders. Not surprisingly, his favorite spot in the World is anywhere there's a Hidden Mickey. He suggests that all visitors take some time to chat with cast members, especially when looking for Hidden Mickeys, as they can enrich your Disney experience and make it even more magical.
