Marketplace and Innoventions Fun

I met a wonderful family at Fulton’s Crab House for lunch. Tammie, Kennedy and Tony visited Disney World from Kentucky. Tammie is a newspaper freelance writer. Kennedy joined us for lunch just after a Disney tennis lesson. From left to right in the photo are Tony, Tammie (standing) and Kennedy.

The food at Fulton’s was delicious. After a leisurely lunch, we strolled around Downtown Disney Marketplace looking for Hidden Mickeys. We all agreed that this image in a net just inside the entrance to Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant is a decent classic Mickey. (Thanks to Lindsey Naizer, Ashley Rae Fisher, and Jack Koss for alerting me about this image.)

I checked out some more images at “Where’s the Fire?” in Epcot’s Innoventions. Goofy is on an upside-down magazine draped over a lamp in the Kids’ Bedroom.

A classic Mickey bookend is also visible on the desk in the Kids’ Bedroom. (Thanks to the Bodmann Family for this sighting.)

I’m searching for a decent photo of the Mickey image on the computer monitor screen in the home office room inside “Where’s the Fire?” Anybody have one? It’s hard to capture!

Steve Barrett is a doctor and Disney nut whose favorite Walt Disney World memory is strolling through the Magic Kingdom with his young son on his shoulders. Not surprisingly, his favorite spot in the World is anywhere there's a Hidden Mickey. He suggests that all visitors take some time to chat with cast members, especially when looking for Hidden Mickeys, as they can enrich your Disney experience and make it even more magical.

  1. Steve, great job as always. When we were at the MK in December, I saw a “decorative” Mickey. It was a Mickey Nutcracker on a shelf in the last scene of Carousel of Progress. I’m sure you probably already knew about it but I couldn’t find it in your blogs so I thought I’d mention it. Question: Do they say anything to you to when you take pictures on these rides (as long as you don’t use flash)? P.S. I read on your blog that you are an ER MD. That is cool. I am a Cath Lab Tech. Love to meet you some day.
