My sister Donna visited WDW recently. We first took in the sights and sounds of the BoardWalk area in late afternoon. The Florida heat had diminished only slightly, so we walked leisurely. Folks were pedaling surrey bikes around Crescent Lake, a real workout on a hot day, to be sure!
Donna rested for a few minutes on an antique car near the Yacht Club.

I wanted to confirm one of my favorite Hidden Mickeys was still present, on the globe in the Yacht Club lobby. It was there, undisturbed.

Donna and I enjoyed dinner at Boma. I always taste the various soups.

I hadn't tried the Mulligatawny soup before, and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I finished off two servings of this slightly sweet chicken and vegetable soup.

I asked our server about the soup's ingredients, and she brought me the recipe! Very cool!

Donna and I sampled many of the fish, vegetable and other offerings, including a mandatory zebra dome dessert to wind up the feast. Another satisfying Boma meal!

Does anyone else get the great irony of obtaining a recipe for Mulligatawny? Seinfeld anyone?

Taking guests to Boma on a trip that doesn't involve admission into the parks is one of my favorite Disney secrets. You still get to enjoy the magnificent Disney theming, without all the added cost. Starting with the Mulligatawny soup and ending with a zebra dome follows right along with my protocol for the evening.

We are going to try Boma on our next stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. We were there last year and it always smelled tantalizing but we had young children with us who wanted to stick to what they knew so I can't wait to go in October. Yum!
