Echo Lake Sunset in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

As I was scouting locations for the Star Wars Weekend Fireworks, I checked out the view from across Echo Lake. It was late in the day and the Sun was just going down behind the palm trees to the right of Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner. This created a large light discrepancy between the bright … Continue reading "Echo Lake Sunset in Disney’s Hollywood Studios"

This Way to Fantasmic

Disney’s Hollywood Studios (aka MGM Studios) has a large (get it?) assortment of billboards staggered throughout the park. I don’t think that it’s necessarily very Hollywood since signage on Sunset Blvd and Hollywood Blvd (in Hollywood) consists of moving imagery, flashing lights, and entire sides of buildings. Honestly, they’re extremely distracting for drivers. So, as … Continue reading "This Way to Fantasmic"

Hollywood back in the 1930’s and 1940’s was like a fantasy to most of America. A place not quite real. The billboards you see around the Studios help to tell the story … Continue reading "Disney Pic of the Week: Billboards of Hollywood Studios"

Circling Spaceship Earth

In keeping with our Disney Pic of the Week theme, Spaceship Earth, I’m continuing the subject with tips on photographing the sphere from a moving monorail. First, board the monorail heading to Epcot at the Ticket and Transportation Center. If you board the monorail to Magic Kingdom, well…that’s the wrong line, Charlie. Second, sit facing … Continue reading "Circling Spaceship Earth"
