So sorry about the glitch last week! But we are back in business!

April 16th was a special day here because Amanda Garrett’s mother celebrates her birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day!

But we have to make a sad transition. Because… now it’s time to say goodbye to one of our company:

The Disney community lost someone very special. Annette Funicello, one of the original Mouseketeers who made her debut with them at Disneyland’s opening. When she was offered the movies with Frankie Avalon, one of the people she consulted was Walt Disney; she and Walt always held each other in high regard and as Annette and Uncle Walt.

Thank you, Annette, for being everything Disney spirit and magic was meant to be.

The Trails End restaurant at my Disney home, the Fort Wilderness resort! I love the buffet here, like the baked potato bar. And buzzing over here to get breakfast to go and treat the hubby to breakfast in bed. Plus, big thanks to Trails End for making us feel special when they found out our wedding anniversary was the next day.

This resort holds a special place in Walt Disney World: it was designed personally by Walt Disney, he named it after his fort in Disneyland and items from the California park where shipped here & are still in use. It is now the only one of Walt’s Fort Wilderness places to be open and always flourishing with unique events no other resort holds like 4th of July parades where cast members and resort guests march together. Or as people said during December to Remember: “I thought you people were camping!” and “This is amazing!”.

Like the Patterson Family said: Love the Fort!

Mike and Susan Hill, instead of walking from the Wilderness Lodge, you might want to take the bus. It’s a lovely walk, but it might be a bit long; depends on your POV. If I was there, I’d buzz over in the electric cart. 🙂

Paul Dickson, I have been to the Lawnmower tree. 🙂 And I really, really miss the peacocks. 🙁
