The Slayer of Vanity statue seen below is found in the Spirited Beasts from Ancient Stories to Anime Stars exhibit in Epcot’s Japan pavilion of a crow-tengu standing ready to defend. These powerful birdlike spirits wear the traditional robes of Shinto priests. They are skilled warriors and often play mischievous tricks on those who are vain and proud.

Tengu are a class of supernatural creatures found in Japanese folklore and are traditionally depicted with both human and avian characteristics.
