Disney Pic of the Week: Downtown Disney

Photographic Innoventions by Scott Thomas

Downtown Disney, Disney’s entertainment and shopping district at Walt Disney World, has gone through numerous changes since I first started going to Walt Disney World back in 1983. Disney will again be changing Downtown Disney with the announcement of a new Waterfront District called Hyperion Wharf by 2013 just last week.

My family has enjoyed Downtown Disney for it’s many shops, restaurants and unique entertainment venues. You can easily spend a day or an evening there without the need of using up a park admission and still have access to Disney’s transportation system of buses and watercraft from the resorts.

While visiting Downtown Disney last month, my family got some chocolate treats from the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop. I am not a big chocolate fan but I was of the beautiful blue sky above the Ghirardelli sign.
