Disney Pic of the Week – Bars and Lounges

Focus on Disney World by Barrie Brewer

Given that I often travel solo to Walt Disney World and my tolerance for counter service meals is pretty low, I often find myself bellying up to the bars of some of the sit down restaurants for my meals. You can make a very nice meal from a couple of appetizers and many of the bars offer the full menu as well if you are especially hungry. Of course, I do like a good martini too, but that’s beside the point! If you usually enjoy a family vacation, you may be surprised to know that Disney has some pretty great bars and lounges. Scott and Lisa will be chiming in with their photo pics later this week. (I’m guessing I might have a few more to choose from than either of them!)

Although it has that feel, this isn’t a Las Vegas lounge. Rix Lounge was a new discovery for me on my last trip to the World. It’s a huge, 300-seat lounge at Coronado Springs Resort, offering specialty drinks and appetizers. I had plans to meet a friend for dinner at Maya Grill so I didn’t sample the food at Rix, but I’ll definitely be checking it out on my next trip.

  1. Mmmm is good to know that there are some places where to go for a good drink…I always say “today, after park I’ll have a nice relaxing drink” but when I arrive to the hotel, I’m so tired, that the only thing that I want is my bed 😛

Thanks for sharing this tip…I’ll definitely add to my TO DO’s list…
