It's a Hard Knock Life

Light Meter by Lisa K. Berton

I spent 6 months helping my cousins in Miami take care of their two tortoises. By taking care, I mean I tossed lettuce into their pens and on occasion let them out separately to walk around the yard. This meant keeping the puppy away from the tortoises, and the dog, and the parrot, the snakes, the cat, the iguana, annnnd that's it. Just thought I'd share that bit of trivia with you.

Here we have a Galapagos tortoise as found in Animal Kingdom's (you were thinking Hollywood Studios, weren't you?) Tree of Life Discovery Island Trails. I don't know if this reptile is a boy or a girl so I've held back from naming him/her. If you'd like to learn more about Galapagos tortoises, take a look at this page from The San Diego Zoo.

I'd like to give a shout out to my friends in the 305!
