If you’re regretting not signing up for a race during this weekend’s Star Wars Half Marathon — Dark Side, you actually still can register for some of the runs that did not sell out. As of the writing of this blog post, the 10K, the half marathon and the First Order Challenge still have spots available.

Runners should register through Active.com as usual, and that link is on the runDisney website. They will pay a $12 late fee in addition to the regular registration fees of $120 for the 10k, $185 for the half marathon and $330 for the challenge. Deadlines for Last Chance Registration are 3 p.m. ET on Friday, April 20, for the 10K and the challenge. Runners interested in the half marathon have until noon ET on Saturday, April 21. These deadlines are in place as long as spots remain in the races; they can sell out at any point.

For first-time runDisney participants: runners must be at least 10 years old to run the 10K and 14 years old to tackle the half marathon.

For Last Chance Registrations, corral placement will be based on availability and at the discretion of runDisney. Also, race shirt size is not guaranteed. Registration fees are nonrefundable and race transfers will not be available.

Race bibs must be picked up at the “Last Chance Pick-Up” booth at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports. The Expo will be open:

Thursday, April 19: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday, April 20: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, April 21: 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Speaking of the Expo, Star Wars merchandise is always popular with runners and collectors. This is the first runDisney weekend to be sponsored by OtterBox, so I would expect to see fun new smart phone cases for sale. At the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend in February, there were expo-exclusive clear cases featuring different individual princesses. The style was similar to the popular Cinderella Castle and Sleeping Beauty Castle cases that debuted at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Can’t make it to the Expo on the first day? Last Chance Registrations still have the option to pre-purchase race merchandise. The Event Weekend Bundle includes a commemorative figurine and a weekend sneaker ornament. The Challenge Bundle includes a logo pin, medal replica pin and a mileage magnet. The Challenge Logo Pin Bundle has the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon, Star Wars Dark Side 10K and Star Wars First Order Challenge Logo pins. The Half Marathon Bundle offers a logo pin, a medal replica pin and a mileage magnet. Runners also can pre-order the Star Wars Half Marathon — The Dark Side Dooney & Bourke handbags. This event-exclusive pattern comes in the tote, small crossbody and wristlet styles.

Looking ahead, registration is still open for the 2018 Wine and Dine Two-Course Challenege. The rest of that race weekend, which is the last of the year at Walt Disney World, is sold out. Registration for 2019 runDisney races is on hold until June 1, while the process is being revamped.
