  1. I got 100%!!! Not very surprising considering I’ve been going since I was 2 years old but I like how you got all the pictures of Cast Members! I’m thinking about making my Halloween Costume into a Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror member or a Haunted Mansion member. Many thanks!

  2. Jack, I check your blog daily and there was a long gap (like 10 days) between this post and the next, so every day I would see the photo of the lady in costume 1. Well last Wednesday I was at the American Adventure in Epcot and ran into her! I had to take the opportunity to show Mary how prominent she was here on the blog and she was quite tickled. Thanks a lot for your hard work on this blog, Jack; it is greatly enjoyed and appreciated!

  3. Hi Jack!

Another great quiz!!! It just amazes me the details Disney pours into every aspect of the parks… it’s what makes Disney so special! Thanks so much for putting this together, it was great fun!

  4. Hey, Jack!
This quiz was great! I did absolutely horrible on the quiz…I go four right! That’s okay though, I used it to prove to my husband that we need to go more often! Keep them coming!

  5. Hi Jack,

    I GOT ALL 51 RIGHT!!!

(Well, that’s because I cheated & looked at the answers first)

Anyway, it was a lot of fun looking at all the different apparel for Walt Disney World.

    Thanks Jack.

  6. Gosh! This was a lot harder than I thought! I recognised most of the costumes, but drew complete blanks for many of the pictures. A measly 12/51!! Fun quiz though, thank you. 🙂

  7. Jack:

I didn’t officially take the quiz, as I was at WDW when you posted it. It would have been like cheating.

Anyway, I really got a kick out of pictures 2 and 3. We had a nice discussion with the gentleman in picture 2 during our visit to One Man’s Dream. He walked us around to each of the models near the theater entrance and pointed out details that would have been easy to miss. He also told us that the attraction would be completely updated during a scheduled two-month refurbishment.

The woman in picture 3 was working in the meerkat and stork area of Pangani. In fact, you even captured her holding the microphone.

It was really cool to see all of the costumes. The fact that we actually saw two of the same cast members during our trip made it even better!

    Keep up the great work!

  8. Jack – This is great fun, and it might be interesting to do a variation of this in say January when some of the costumes are adapted for winter weather. I was amazed that several of these I didn’t recognize simply because we usually don’t spend summers in the parks!

Your blog is great, and keeps me going till my next visit. Keep up the good work!

  9. Hi Jack
I am a huge fan of all your quizzes! They’re not only very entertaining, but a great way to learn a little something new about Disney parks. I especially loved this one because it made me realize that, yes, I was easily able to recall many of these outfits from past trips, but I couldn’t place the ride many belonged to. I’ll likely be more observant of these things on upcoming trips. Keep up on your fabulous work!

  10. hey jack
that was your most challenging quiz yet, well done. i was able to do ok as i scored a 40/51. I never realized how many different costumes there were at WDW, it’s amazing! can’t wait for your next blog and as always, keep up the great work.

  11. Hi Jack

What a great quiz! The guy in pic 47 is always present when we visit The Hall of Presidents. His knowledge of American history is vast and even though we may have heard the information countless times he always keeps us captivated. I have to admit we only got about 40% of them right 🙁

    Keep these great blogs coming!

    Many thanks

  12. Awesome quiz again! I actually recall seeing 2 of these cast members on our trip in June! (#1 and #11)!! Too cool!

  13. Like I said earlier…..this was hard, but I did get 20/50. Must improve on score…..with a trip to WDW!

  14. Great quiz! It was definitely a good challenge. I got a little over half of the questions correct. But what I think I enjoyed the most was the cast members’ expressions. For instance, the Haunted Mansion girl is so in character! And the Tomorrowland Speedway CMs look so happy to be there. Props to all the CMs out there! They really complete the show.

  15. Thanks Jack! This was fun. I like to sew so the costumes always fascinated me. Here are a couple of questions:

-Did my eyes deceive me, or did I once notice seamstresses sewing (or repairing) costumes in the Wardrobe building of the Backlot Tour at Hollywood Studios? Is that where all the great creations come from?

-I’ve also wondered whether thought is given to comfort in the Florida heat — are any of the costumes for cast members who are outdoors made out of light, breathable fabrics? Since I wear those when touring Walt Disney World, it only seems fair that cast members can as well. Looking at these pictures, I do notice how many short sleeve shirt/shorts combos there are, which is good.

Now that would be my dream job — making costumes at Walt Disney World!

    Thanks again.

    Jack’s Answer:

When the tram tour first began over 20 years ago and Disney was promoting the Disney/MGM Studios as a real, working studio, the tram guide eluded that this was the wardrobe department — the largest in the world. And a small portion of this space was devoted to designing movie and TV costumes. But the vast majority of this area has always been for the designing and manufacturing of the theme park costumes. Although I do not know the specifics, comfort is designed in the costumes a much as possible. However, the character costumes are extremely hot, even on a cold day. This is why Mickey and his friends only stay on-stage for a short time before taking a break.

  16. This one was a little more difficult! But what was the Mansion maid doing with those sunglasses? Those aren’t part of the costume, are they?

    Jack’s Answer:

Back in the “olden days,” cast members were not allowed to wear sunglasses or drink water in on-stage areas. These were rules that began in California. But Florida is a different animal and eventually it was decided that these were unrealistic rules to impose on someone working in the hot sun. “Approved” sunglasses are allowed and certain cast members are permitted to carry water bottles (for instance, parking lot attendants).

  17. Thanks Jack! That was fun, but I missed more than I care to admit. I’ll be there this Sunday through Sat. the 7th and I WILL be paying attention! Love the quizzes and the blogs, Sally

  18. Hey Jack,
What a blast this was- did pityful though. Sometimes I could figure out the park but not the place.
    Love the blogs.

  19. I have never before appreciated the incredible diversity of costumes at WDW. All the way from Colonial dress to T-shirts! And some of these outfits are quite complex. I used to volunteer with a local dance company, repairing their costumes, and it’s mind-boggling to me how Disney can maintain such an enormous shop of such diverse and complex clothing, keep it all clean and in good repair. Amazing.

  20. Jack,
That was a fun quiz. I found it very interesting that I recognized the man in Picture 47. When we were there a few months ago, he was in the waiting area to go into Hall of Presidents. He was giving us all the most fascinating trivia about the Office of President and of various Presidents in our country’s history. Thanks for posting his picture to trigger my memory.

  21. This was a really fun quiz Jack. I know it would be a lot harder for you to get the photographs than just visiting the four parks, but I think a neat followup would be getting uniforms at the resorts. They all have their own uniforms. My favorite is probably the Wilderness Lodge. You could even expand it to restaurants (Victoria and Albert’s costumes really help to transport you away from the outside world) and Downtown Disney.

Just a thought! Like I said, I know that’s a whole heck of a lot more driving than just heading into the parks.

    Jack’s Comment:

I purposely confined my pictures to theme park attractions. I felt that this is the one area that the most individuals have experienced. Whereas, some people stay at the same resort time after time again and never see the other hotels. Or they can’t afford to eat at Citricos or the Flying Fish and thus, wouldn’t be familiar with the attire.

It was my goal to create an easier quiz than my previous “World Wide” quiz. But I very quickly found out that the costume identification was just as difficult. Most people are telling me they didn’t do very well.

  22. I got a solid 25 correct, with a couple just barely wrong…I mixed up Jungle Cruise and Kilimanjaro Safari. Some of the costumes that are just a plan polo shirt with khakis are really hard to identify. Definitely a fun quiz!

  23. Hi Jack,

My pitiful score was 19/51 – I obviously need a trip as a refresher!

    thanks for the fun,
    Wendy
