Things have changed quite a bit since my last visit in early July.
The exterior of the tunnel on the right side of the train station is under scrims.
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room (formerly Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management) is still being worked on.
The new sign for the attraction is out.
In Frontierland, Pecos Bill’s is under scrims.
The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade is also under scrims.
The Fantasyland Skyway station is gone and walls are up.
The rock work around Maurice’s cottage is progressing quickly.
The rock work is also progressing quickly on the Little Mermaid attraction’s building.
The top of the building is looking great.
In Fantasyland, Enchanted Grove is behind scrims.
The Tangled meet-and-greet features Rapunzel only now.
There’s been a lot of progress on Storybook Circus.
The Firehouse has closed.
We met friends for lunch at Downtown Disney. We had every intention of walking around but the heat and humidity drove us out after lunch. We did see, though, that the Harley Davidson store has moved into the space formerly occupied by Little Miss Matched on the West Side.
That’s all for this update. Have a great day!
I was absolutely thrilled when I read on the news blog that Disney was going back to the Enchanted Tiki Room show! I hated the “New Management” part of it!
Hi Ashley!
Thanks for the update…I haven’t been there since the first week of June.
I wish you could’ve seen the smile on my face when I scrolled down to your pic of the new sign for The Enchanted Tiki Room. What made me smile was seeing that it read: “Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.”
It has been quite some time since I’ve seen Walt’s name on an attraction (unless you count “One Man’s Dream” at the Studios or “Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress”.) Seeing his name makes it feel like the old days.
Then…my smile turned to a frown when I saw the pic of where the old Skyway station used to be. I knew it was inevitable, but I’m sad anyway. I hope they put up something good in its place.
Thanks again for the great blog. I always appreciate them. ~ Johnny.
Hi! Thanks for your blogs, they are great! I love to see what is going on before I ever get there, so I will keep looking. We are headed down in early Sept. really have no idea what to expect as we have always been there in May, but hoping for the best! I see where you said that the Harley store is where Little Missmatched used to be. Has it moved, or is it closed? Also, there was a store that you can design your own T-shirts. Is that still there?
Thanks so much!
Keep blogging!
ASHLEY:
Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind words.
Little Miss Matched has moved to the Marketplace- it’s where Pooh Corner used to be, across from the Christmas store. The Design-A-Tee store is still open. Hope you have a fantastic time in September! 🙂
