Experience to Include an All-New Stage Show with Mickey and Friends, Plus Classic Animated Short "Mickey's Fire Brigade" and an Interactive Exhibit

Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre presents a special engagement of Disney's "Planes: Fire & Rescue" in realD® 3D and Dolby® Atmos™ July 18 - Aug. 20, 2014. Each screening will be accompanied by "Summer Beach Party" live on stage, plus the classic 1935 Disney animated short, "Mickey's Fire Brigade."

"The El Capitan is the place to see Disney's 'Planes: Fire & Rescue' this summer with live entertainment and interactive exhibits for the whole family," said Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. "Not only will guests have the opportunity to see Mickey and Friends live on stage, but they'll also enjoy a timeless Disney short before every screening. After the film, guests will have the opportunity to try on firefighter gear from Discovery Science Center and make a plane propeller spin from the Planes of Fame Air Museum."

Daily showtimes are 10 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 3:45 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and special 9:25 p.m. show times opening weekend (July 18-20) and Friday and Saturday nights following. Tickets are on sale now, and available at the El Capitan Theatre (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), online at www.elcapitantickets.com, or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. Special group rates for parties of 20 or more are available by calling 1-818-845-3110. Show times subject to change.

On Saturdays and Sundays, El Capitan guests may also enjoy a character breakfast with Mickey before the 10 a.m. movie. Seating is limited and advance purchase is required with purchase of a movie ticket.

The El Capitan Theatre will also host a very special 2D "Tiny Tot Tuesday" every Tuesday during the run of "Planes: Fire & Rescue" at 10 a.m. During this special screening, parents and small children may enjoy the movie in a 2D tot-friendly way-complete with lights dimmed rather than out and reduced sound levels

Planes: Fire and Rescue, is a new comedy-adventure featuring a quirky crew of elite fire fighting aircraft devoted to protecting historic Pinston Peak National Park from a raging wild fire.

When world famous air racer Dusty (Dane Cook) learns that his engine is damaged and he may
never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of wildfire air attack.

Dusty joins forces with veteran fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger and his courageous air attack team, including spirited super scooper Lil' Dipper (Julie Bowen), heavy-lift helicopter Windlifter, ex-military transport Cabbie and a lively bunch of brave all - terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers.

Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire, and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero.
