Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria Announces Renovation Plans

Naples to remain open during multi-phase renovations

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2018) – Patina Restaurant Group (PRG) is pleased to officially announce their renovation plans for Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria, located in the Downtown Disney District, to refresh the restaurant’s aesthetic and enhance the dining experience. Naples will be open throughout the course of construction.

A new outdoor bar will be the feature of an expanded patio with additional al fresco dining among all new landscaping. The building renovation includes an addition of a new all glass entry, welcoming guests to the first and second floor dining areas.

Inside, three new wood-burning pizza ovens will be installed and will be the focal point of the room. The second-floor dining area will feature an open kitchen as well as enhanced outdoor terrace dining.

The Naples experience is a full immersion into the dining of Southern Italy – from the food and wine to the décor. Authentic Neapolitan pizza is made the traditional way, with a textured, soft and charred crust. The pies are crafted using simple and delicious essential Italian ingredients, along with fresh local products.

The restaurant will remain open during construction and completed in three phases. The current menu of regional Italian specialties from Executive Chef Umberto Rubelli will still be fully available throughout the entirety of the renovation process. This will allow guests to continue enjoying their favorite Neapolitan pasta dishes, secondi, seasonal salads, Italian wines, and the bustling, yet relaxed atmosphere reflective of the restaurant’s namesake city.

Visitors can also expect Napolini, Naples’ fast-casual concept, to undergo a revamp during the latter part of construction. Napolini will stay open as well, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to guests on the go in need of an authentic Italian quick bite. All renovations are slated to be completed in fall, 2018.

Splitsville Luxury Lanes announces opening date in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort

Anaheim, California: January 22, 2018 – Splitsville Luxury Lanes will open to guests at the Downtown Disney® District at the Disneyland® Resort on January 29.

From family fun to date nights, Splitsville will be an exciting destination for all ages. With 600 dining seats, two craft cocktail bars, two bustling kitchens, 20 bowling lanes and a prominent covered patio with a stage that will feature live music 365 days a year, Splitsville will offer visitors a one-of-a-kind, multi-faceted entertainment experience in a California-cool environment.

"Splitsville was designed as a restaurant first," says co-owner Mark Gibson. "We then added bowling lanes in small clusters and arranged the lanes in different directions. The result is a unique environment where guests can enjoy drinks and dinner away from the activity or jump into the action and bowl a few frames with their friends while having food and beverages delivered to their lane."

Food connoisseurs will discover a menu that is a cut above similar entertainment complexes. From top-notch sushi to expertly grilled salmon, the cuisine caters to guests with discerning palates. Even the more traditional bowling alley classics like nachos and pizzas are elevated to new heights with premium toppings and fresh ingredients.

The location itself offers more than 40,000 square feet of entertainment space with two levels, housed in a mid-century modern building with interior decor that gives a nod to California architecture, while remaining comfortable and playful. Guests will be treated with a spectacular view of the Downtown Disney District from the second level dining room, and the indoor-outdoor bar on the first floor will overlook the patio, live entertainment, main dining room, and sushi kitchen. Semi-private lounges will allow guests to bowl and enjoy craft cocktails in an atmosphere that is distinctly Disney.

Flagship World of Disney Store Also To Be Transformed Into New, Dynamic Shopping Destination

ANAHEIM, Calif. (January 24, 2018) – The Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort is continuing its ambitious, promenade-wide transformation in 2018. Multiple new venues and significant refurbishments to marquee dining and retail locations, including the World of Disney store, will be completed throughout the year while Downtown Disney remains open to guests. The result will be a fresh, one-of-a-kind Disney experience, immersing guests by day and night in the greatest mix of family-friendly dining, shopping and entertainment.

Also announced today, popular craft brewer Ballast Point will open its first Orange County location in Downtown Disney later this year. Ballast Point pairs award-winning beers with an extensive menu of Southern California cuisine—salads, small plates, flatbreads and entrees featuring local, sustainable and seasonal ingredients. In addition to Ballast Point’s iconic beers, including its flagship Sculpin IPA, the location will serve exclusive, limited-edition beers available only at Downtown Disney. The space will house Downtown Disney’s first-ever on-site brewery, as well as a tasting room, kitchen and outdoor beer garden.

A recent addition to Downtown Disney is the multi-sensory experience Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire by ILMxLAB and The VOID. The hyper-reality experience transports guests deep into the Star Wars universe, allowing them to walk freely and untethered throughout the space. In groups of four, teams go undercover as stormtroopers to capture Imperial intelligence vital to the budding rebellion’s survival.

Other exciting experiences slated to open in 2018 include:

  • World of Disney will be reimagined into a new, dynamic and distinctly Disney retail environment. The flagship store will remain open to guests for shopping during the majority of the refurbishment, with work expected to be completed in phases throughout 2018. World of Disney will continue to offer the largest selection of Disney toys, souvenirs, accessories, collectibles and more at the Disneyland Resort.
  • Splitsville Luxury Lanes, a dynamic recreation destination, will offer a unique combination of dining, drinks, bowling and entertainment. Opening on January 29, the Downtown Disney District location will feature 20 bowling lanes interspersed throughout two floors, four dining areas (indoors and out), more than 25 flat screen TVs and live entertainment 365 days a year.
  • Disney Home will offer fans a variety of Disney-themed home goods. Guests will find a curated assortment of products that change with each season. Disney Home will open February 2018 in the former D-Street location.
  • Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria will undergo renovations to expand its patio with a new outside bar and additional seating for al fresco dining. Inside, three wood burning ovens will be installed to better meet guests’ demands for authentic Napoletana-style pizza pies. The restaurant will remain open throughout construction, which is slated to be completed in fall 2018. In addition, Napolini, Naples’ fast-casual concept, will also remain open, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Napolini will undergo renovations during the latter part of construction.
  • Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer will open its first California location in the heart of Downtown Disney District later this year. Known for its award-winning burgers and signature CrazyShake™ milkshakes, Black Tap will offer a casual atmosphere reminiscent of a modern luncheonette, with a distinctly New York vibe.

The Downtown Disney District (no admission fee required) is steps from Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park and the three on-property hotels of the Disneyland Resort. Atmospheric music and entertainment create a lively backdrop for guests. The destination features a diverse collection of casual restaurants, favorite snacking stops, shopping boutiques and high-energy entertainment, including Starbucks, The VOID, La Brea Bakery Café, The LEGO Store, Curl Surf, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, Catal Restaurant & Uva Bar, Sephora, Sprinkles, PANDORA Jewelry, The Dream Boutique and the World of Disney store.

The Downtown Disney District parking lot is conveniently located next to the action and offers three hours of parking with a $20 minimum purchase and validation from any Downtown Disney location. Experience a Whole New World of Disney

Shopping at Disney Parks is an adventure with hundreds of shops and boutiques to explore. The largest of these shops, World of Disney, serves as the “must see” destination for finding many beloved souvenirs from stylish apparel to home décor.

Now, as part of continued enhancements to guests’ shopping experiences at Disney Parks, the World of Disney store locations in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort and in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort will be reimagined beginning in mid-February 2018.

When the interior redesign work is completed, guests will discover the products they love from Disney Parks in a dynamic and distinctly Disney retail environment.

Work will be completed in phases throughout 2018, so Guests can continue shopping in the World of Disney stores during construction.

Shops in Town Center at Disney Springs, such as Ever After Jewelry Co. or The Disney Corner (opening in mid-February), will carry select merchandise while World of Disney undergoes renovations.

At Downtown Disney District in California, World of Disney will remain open during the renovation. Additionally, Guests can find great shopping in the recently opened Dream Boutique, as well as the Disney Home store opening February 2018 in the former D-Street location.

This ground-breaking experience will open to the public at two new VOID Experience Centers at Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort and Disney Springs at Walt Disney World beginning this holiday season, giving Star Wars fans the opportunity to step beyond reality and into a galaxy far, far away.

ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm’s Immersive Entertainment division, created this first-of-its-kind experience, in collaboration with The VOID. Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire will plunge guests directly into the iconic Star Wars galaxy. Summer Excitement at Disneyland's Downtown Disney District

The summer celebration gets underway this month with nightly music performances featuring a different theme practically every night. The Downtown Disney Live! Stage will feature popular favorites from some past years, as well as new groups.

-- On Saturdays and Sundays, we fire things up with Dance Party nights featuring a varying lineup of big band, swing and rockabilly bands, including Phat Cat Swinger and Crown City Bombers, plus Top 40 and ‘80s groups.

-- Island Reggae Band turns Mondays into Reggae nights, while Adelaide takes the stage for Latin nights on Tuesdays.

-- Country and Cajun sounds take over Wednesday nights, and Thursday nights feature oldies and classic rock.

-- Fridays mark the return of Polynesian nights, sponsored by Dole, featuring Tupua on the Downtown Disney stage.

And the musical fun isn’t all after dark! On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 6 p.m. throughout the summer, Vocal Trip offers a cappella renditions of Disney favorites and popular songs throughout the Downtown Disney District.

La Brea Bakery Café to Expand at Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort

If you've been to the Downtown Disney District lately, you've likely noticed the exciting changes underway. On January 3, La Brea Bakery Café began a significant refurbishment of its current location including expanding the restaurant's footprint, creating a new exhibition bakery, adding a new kitchen in the express area, and placing an awning over the outdoor seating in the full-service dining section.

The remodel, as seen in this early concept artwork, also will allow La Brea Bakery Café to produce fresh baked items at the restaurant, which will include a selection of breads, pastries, sweets, flatbreads and foccacias.

The café will feature menu items inspired by La Brea Bakery's founder, Nancy Silverton. From double-dipped French toast and fontina strata at breakfast to burgers, salads, panini and authentic Italian focaccias made fresh throughout the day, the focus will be on fresh, healthy and flavorful foods.

La Brea Bakery's full-service restaurant remains open during the refurbishment through mid-March. The restaurant will reopen its doors with a fresh new look in April.
