Guests staying at the seven Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels in 2018 have been enjoying two benefits at the Walt Disney World theme parks that are usually reserved for Disney Resort Hotel guests: theme park Extra Magic Hours and the ability to book FastPass+ 60 days in advance.
These benefits were originally slated to end at the Disney Springs hotels on December 31, 2018, but now will be available for those guests with valid theme park admission through December 31, 2019.
The Extra Magic Hours benefit enables guests to experience extra time in at least one of the Walt Disney World theme parks each day, either before it opens or after it closes. You can view the Extra Magic Hours calendar at disneyworld.com/parkhours or request the printed Times Guide, available in each hotel’s lobby.
Guests at these hotels who have a valid theme park ticket or confirmation number and a hotel reservation number, also will be able to link their hotel reservations on MyDisneyExperience.com. Once linked, these guests can use a 60-day booking window for FastPass+ selections. Included at no extra charge with theme park admission tickets, this service lets you reserve access to select attractions, shows and more, up to 60 days before you arrive.
Located on Walt Disney World Resort property, the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels consist of B Resort & Spa, Best Western Lake Buena Vista, DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando – Disney Springs Area, Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista, Holiday Inn Orlando – Disney Springs Area, and Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista.
These Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels are within an easy walk to Disney Springs, which offers more than 150 retail, dining and entertainment establishments. In addition, the hotels provide shuttle transportation approximately every 30 minutes to all four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, two Disney Water Parks, and at night to the Disney Springs area. As a bonus, guests at these hotels also receive the “Disney Springs Passport” booklet that features discounts and specials from Disney Springs merchants on entertainment, shopping and dining.

Just returned from Disney. Stayed at Yacht Club. FPs to best, new rides were impossible to get 60 days in advance. Also, EMHs were crowded. Now I know why!! I do not understand why Disney is doing this!!! And all parks were VERY crowded during regular hours. A noticeable difference from our last trip in May 2017. Park experience is truly bad now. You’re lucky to ride your fav rides once! Forget riding a 2nd time unless you’re willing to do standby for 90-150 minutes or longer.
I am a Vacation Club Member and have in the past visited once or twice a year. Because of the advance planning and now giving perks to guests not staying on property I will be looking for other places to vacation. Disney has taken the fun out of visiting their parks. It is not longer my happy place:(
I agree . Disney is over selling and over building . The parks are so crowded if they don’t expand people will not be able to get on any rides. I have paid extra to stay on property but why bother . This really is terrible.
We frequent WDW and having the extra magic hours and 60 day window was always seen as a benefit for staying at a WDW resort. Now offsite properties are being given this perk for some unknown reason. There is almost no benefit to staying onsite anymore. You now get charged for parking and every year the rates are higher and higher. This has made getting FP+ harder and makes magic hours more crowded.Keep this for resort guests.
We love, love WDW. We plan a trip every year, sometimes twice a year. Always staying on property. But now that these options are offered to those not on property, Whats the perks or benefits of paying the extra and staying on property? All services that were exclusive to Resort guests, are no longer perks.
I am always amazed as a regular WDW RESORT PATRON when I try to do the EXTRA MAGIC HOURS ASP very early the first morning (60 day before my arrival) at WDW RESORT HOTEL how most MAGIC HOURS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SELECTED and what is left is the left overs. Expanding this benefit beyond access to only RESORT GUESTS will bite WDW in the backside someday when regular PATRONS FEEL THEY ARE BEING SHORT-CHANGED by WDW.
