Reservations Open July 17 for Pizzafari's New Family-Style Dining Experience

Reservations open today for a new dining experience coming to Pizzafari in Disney's Animal Kingdom starting July 31.

The brand-new Pizzafari Family-Style Dining Experience will allow you to experience table service dining at the counter service venue. But don't worry -- Pizzafari will still also act as a quick-service location, if that's what you'd prefer.

Pizzafari Family-Style Dining will be offered daily between 5 and 8 p.m. To take advantage of the new offering, make a reservation in advance as you would for any other Disney restaurant -- online at DisneyWorld.com/Dine or by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463). Then, when you arrive at Pizzafari for your meal, check in at the podium and place your drink orders. You'll then be seated in one of the two designated dining rooms. Your dinner will be brought directly to your table family-style and will include two appetizers (Caprese Salad and Caesar Salad), three entrees (including pasta, chicken, and pizza dishes), and dessert.

The cost for Pizzafari Family-Style Dining is $19.99 for adults 10 and older, $11.99 for children 3-9, and includes non-alcoholic beverages. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase. This experience also counts as one quick-service credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

As noted above, Pizzafari will continue to act as a counter service restaurant, too. If you want to eat on the go, you'll find that the location has changed up its quick-service menu options a bit.

The personal pizzas are once again circular pies, available as Cheese, Pepperoni, Vegetable, or Sausage & Pepperoni. One flatbread from the previous menu remains: Shrimp Flatbread with roasted shrimp, tomato, red pepper, Alfredo sauce and pesto and topped with greens.

The pizzas and flatbread now can be paired with a small Caesar Salad. Also available is a Caesar Salad with Chicken and a basket of fresh-baked Garlic Knots topped with cheese and served with marinara sauce.

Finally, a new dessert is being offered: Cannoli Cake, which is a slice of chocolate cake with chocolate chip cannoli filling. It's topped with chocolate ganache and a mini cannoli filled with sweet ricotta cheese and chocolate chips.

joe massie:

is this going to be an all you can eat family dining experience?

DEBK REPLIES: That's a good question, Joe. I rather doubt it, since it's just $19.99/person, but we'll try to find out for you.

*** Replying to my own reply: We've been told that "guests are welcome to request more of a specific item if they wish."

Ashley Chadwick:

Hi,

I just called Disney to make a reservation and they said initially it's not listed on their website but that it is actually a table service credit? She didn't seem very confidant with that answer though and I would really like to be sure before I book, does anyone know for sure what kind of credit it is?

Thanks in advance,
Ashley

DEBK REPLIES: Well, the Disney Parks Blog says, "This experience also counts as 1 QSR Redemption on the Disney Dining Plan." But I think you might be right, Ashley -- it would seem that it should be a table service credit, since it's a table service meal. I'll check on it.

*** And now I'm replying to my own reply! Ashley, we double-checked and it is indeed just a quick-service credit on the dining plan!

Barbara Hicks:

Is this a temporary dining experience only thru October? It seems Oct. 31st is the last day available for reservations. Would liked to have tried this for a party of 4 going in December. :(

Thanks,
Barbara

DEBK REPLIES: Barbara, they didn't say that this was limited time offering, so I assumed it was permanent. It could be that the online system just doesn't have dates yet beyond Oct. 31. Did you try calling? We'll try to get an answer for you.

Mike :

I just made reservations for September 29th. The restaurant page says that dining plan is accepted, but once I picked the date and time, it says that the dining plan isn't accepted. Do you think this is just a glitch? Thank you!

DEB K REPLIES: Yes, I do think it's just a glitch. I'm sure it's 1 quick service credit, as originally reported. We checked with cast members at Pizzafari yesterday about the price and the dining plan eligibility. You should be OK!

Susan:

I just made a reservation the other day and the way the website reads it a counter service is accepted for dinner. I have looked over other menus and they have a lot of cs that have prices 18-20. I wish there was a positive in stone answer for this because if it is a ts then we will not go as I don't want to oop 80 dollars when I could use that toward a character meal. I sure hope someone has the answer soon.

DEBK REPLIES: Hi Susan. I guess you missed my reply from a few days ago. We spoke directly with cast members at Pizzafari to confirm that this is a counter service credit on the dining plan. Enjoy!
