  1. Is there are special “Grand Opening” celebration for the first day or are they doing anything special for folks staying on Disney property? Still can’t get FP+…

DEB: I’m not aware of anything special, but I’m sure there will be merchandise.

  2. Can you believe that I cannot select any FP+ for this new ride on June 1st?! It only says Stand-by is available. I will get on the phone with a CM but… I am in disbelief that there wouldn’t be any FP+ available AT ALL 🙁 That defeats the whole purpose of the FP+ doesn’t it? We are planning a parkhopping day that day & didn’t plan on getting there until late in the day (EMH until 2 am…) Ugh! Hope a CM can help!

DEB: I believe once the FP+ was available, word spread quickly through the internet and folks booked! I would keep trying as I have found things periodically open up.

  3. We will be arriving on June 11. Always have to go to the MK first, then I know I am at my happy place. Got FP+ for the Train Ride that day…. YEA. Also every day we will be in the MK.

  4. How do you know if there is a soft opening? Do you check while you are in the park and is it walk on only no fast pass?

Deb: Sometimes Disney has a soft opening for guests. It is totally random and may be very time/guest limited. Best thing to do is if you are in the Magic Kingdom, go by the attraction to see if anything is happening.

  5. Sad to hear that this ride won’t be open during our stay. We are there from May 13 to 20. First time at Disney too.

DEB: Not officially open during your stay, but swing by when you are in the Magic Kingdom. You never know when it may be during a “soft opening”.

  6. Do you think pooh size people will have any trouble riding?

Deb: the space is on the smaller size and there is a lap bar for each person that you pull down. I did talk to a pooh sized friend who said he just rode by himself (there are 2 people per car) and was ok.

  7. My last day of Disney trip is May 27. Any chance we will be able to ride it?

DEB: The opportunity for soft or early openings always exists but is never guaranteed.

  8. When will the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train open. People Magazine reported that it opened Friday. We will be there from May 19 til May 29 and just wondered if it will be open while we are there.

DEB: The ride will officially open to the public on May 28, 2014. FastPass+ is now available.

  9. So, is the Mine Train open yet? So excited; we’re set to be there May 24th!!

DEB: As announced at the Press Event on May 2, 2014, the ride will officially open to the public on May 28, 2014. FastPass+ is now available.

  10. Thank you for sharing.
Can’t wait to book my fast passes for my upcoming summer trip and riding the mine train.

  11. Does anyone know when fast passes will be available in the FastPass+ system for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train?

DEB: As announced at the Press Event on May 2, 2014, the ride will officially open to the public on May 28, 2014. FastPass+ is now available.

  12. I can not wait to ride this! I have to wait till January 2015 before I go back down to Disney World though. The suspense is killing me lol

  13. Will there be a Passholder Preview?

DEB: As announced at the Press Event on May 2, 2014, the ride will officially open to the public on May 28, 2014. FastPass+ is now available. No word yet on Annual Passholder Previews.

  14. Thanks for sharing Deb & Deb! I will be there this coming week (leaving tomorrow) and am hoping for a little “soft opening luck”.

DEB: As announced at the Press Event on May 2, 2014, the ride will officially open to the public on May 28, 2014. FastPass+ is now available.
