I’m going to attempt to catch up with my days on the Disney Wonder. It will be mostly photos – hope that works ok!
May 2nd Victoria Canada. This was one of the stops I was most looking forward too. At one time I had been an avid gardener and have always wanted to see Butchart Gardens. Unfortunately, it was a cool rainy day! That, however, did not deter us! Off we went!
On our way to the Gardens we had a city tour!
Even with the cloudy rainy skies, the Gardens were magnificent. So many blooms and so many colors. I hope to visit again sometime.
Wouldn’t you know it, when we returned to the ship, the sun came out ïŠ
May 3rd we disembarked the Disney Wonder Pacific Coast Cruise and re-embarked in Vancouver for the first Alaskan Cruise. The process was not smooth nor were things communicated properly. It was a long frustrating morning which began at 8:30am and we finally got back on board at 12:30pm. Had many of us known how long this process would take, we would all have planned to head into town.
ALL EARS ALASKAN ADVENTURE
We have a great group of folks on board for the AllEars special group sailing.
The weather was awesome and we had a fun sailaway. The ship is not full and it showed at sailaway! Here is when the AllEars Alaska Cruisers met many of their sailing mates for the first time.
May 4th, yes, Star Wars day for SW fans ïŠ We had a day at sea as we traveled from Vancouver into Alaska. Because it was the first time the Disney Wonder sailed this route, we could not do the inside passage Northbound and were outside of the calm waters. It was a rough day for many with 8-13 foot waves and moderate gale winds. It also poured rain all day.
But there was lots to do on board including Palo Brunch.
The AllEars Alaskan Cruisers had an early meet at Cove Café and we enjoyed time to get to know each other better over nice warm/hot beverages.
Everyone went their separate ways for the day and gathered again in the evening for our pre-dinner meet at Cove Café. It was formal night and many folks dressed up.
We were so delighted to see our request to once again have BalWin and Tita server us was granted!! They are AWESOME.
While, I am unable to keep up on a daily basis, here are links to 2 folks who ARE keeping their blogs updated.
Fellow AllEars cohort Laura Gilbreath and
My cabin matges for this sailing, Gary and Carol Cruise!
What an amazing trip this happened to be. Just by chance, was your one server named Gwen? If it is her, she served my family on the Wonder in July ’10 and she was amazing! I am always happy for the Guests who take the time to have pictures with their servers who do so much work throughout the journey.
Deb: We had Balwan and Tita – they were awesome!
Love all of the photos! Thanks!
-Lori.
You all, “y’all”, look like everyone is having a “WONDERFUL” time.
Thank you for your photos and report.
I really enjoyed Laura and Carol and Gary’s photos, and reports, too.
Wishing you sunny days and calm seas and happy times.
Ray 🙂
